Yankees | Chris Young in lineup Wednesday

Wed, 20 May 2015 12:55:22 -0700

New York Yankees OF Chris Young is in the starting lineup and batting seventh Wednesday, May 20, against the Washington Nationals.

Fantasy Tip: Young ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) only has an .067 batting average in the last week and may have remained on the bench had it not been for an injury to Jacoby Ellsbury. He is lower in the lineup and will likely get less scoring chances, so leave him on the bench.

Yankees | Jacoby Ellsbury has sprained knee

Wed, 20 May 2015 10:24:28 -0700

New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury (knee) is dealing with a sprained right knee that has landed him on the disabled list. He hurt himself swinging in the fourth inning of the game Tuesday, May 19, and he went for an MRI exam. The Yankees could move OF Brett Gardner to center field, OF Chris Young could play center field. OF Slade Heathcott, who was recalled from the minors, is another option in center.

Fantasy Tip: There's no timetable for Ellsbury's ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) return, but given his history with nagging ailments, you should plan for the worst and a stay beyond the 15 days on the DL. Young ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) should now see regular playing time, boosting his value in deep mixed and AL-only leagues. Young is a fine weapon for FantasyScore lineups against southpaws. Heathcott is strictly an AL-only commodity in deep setups.

Yankees | Carlos Beltran out vs. lefty

Tue, 19 May 2015 13:10:16 -0700

New York Yankees OF Carlos Beltran is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, May 19. OF Chris Young is starting in right field and hitting third in the batting order against Washington Nationals SP Gio Gonzalez.

Fantasy Tip: Young ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) is mashing lefties this year to the tune of a .382/.488/.824 slash line with three of his six home runs in 34 at-bats. That'll make him a nice value pick against Gonzalez in Washington D.C. tonight.

Sat, 16 May 2015 14:03:26 -0700

New York Yankees OF Chris Young will start in left field and hit second in the order Saturday, May 16, against the Kansas City Royals and LHP Danny Duffy.

Fantasy Tip: Young ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) has hit .419 against lefties this season, through 39 plate appearances. Young is just 2-for-his-last-13 plate appearances, but he possesses plenty of upside at a low cost against another lefty.

Wed, 06 May 2015 14:23:46 -0700

New York Yankees OF Chris Young is starting in left field and hitting second in the batting order against Toronto Blue Jays SP Mark Buehrle Wednesday, May 6.
