Phillies | Freddy Galvis sitting out

Fri, 11 Sep 2015 17:40:08 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SS Freddy Galvis is not in the starting lineup for the second game of a doubleheader Friday, Sept. 11. SS Andres Blanco will start at shortstop against Chicago Cubs SP Kyle Hendricks and is batting third in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Galvis ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) likely will return to the lineup in the next game or two. Blanco ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) is hitting .306 in limited playing time this season but probably is not the best option on FantasyScore.

Phillies | Freddy Galvis not in action

Tue, 08 Sep 2015 12:59:24 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SS Freddy Galvis is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, Sept. 8, against the Atlanta Braves. SS Andres Blanco is in for Galvis and will hit fifth against Braves SP Ryan Weber.

Fantasy Tip: Galvis ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) appears to be getting a normal night off. Blanco ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has a .307 home average at Citizens Bank Park and has three homers, so he might be an excellent source of salary-cap relief.

Phillies | Andres Blanco starting at third base

Sat, 05 Sep 2015 10:23:28 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies INF Andres Blanco will bat sixth and play third base against Boston Red Sox SP Wade Miley Saturday, Sept. 5.

Fantasy Tip: Blanco ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) is 6-for-16 with a double, triple, two RBIs and three runs scored over the past week and makes an excellent source of salary cap relief for FantasyScore owners.

Phillies | Cody Asche starting at third base

Fri, 04 Sep 2015 14:06:10 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies 3B Cody Asche is starting at third base and batting seventh against Boston Red Sox SP Joe Kelly Friday, Sept. 4. SS Andres Blanco is not in the starting lineup Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Blanco ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has been receiving the majority of starts at third base of late, but you'll want to avoid him in all fantasy formats Friday. He also doesn't warrant ownership outside of cavernous mixed and NL-only leagues. FantasyScore plays can also avoid Asche ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) Friday. Kelly ($6,900, 13.8% of cap) has been lights out over his past five starts with a 1.69 ERA.

Phillies | Cesar Hernandez playing third base

Sat, 29 Aug 2015 12:47:37 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies INF Cesar Hernandez will bat leadoff and play third base against San Diego Padres SP Colin Rea Saturday, Aug. 29. 3B Andres Blanco is not in the starting lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Hernandez ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) has cooled off considerably recently. He is just 3-for-25 over the last seven days and should be avoided in FantasyScore tonight.

Phillies | Freddy Galvis jumps up lineup vs. Mets

Mon, 24 Aug 2015 13:01:57 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SS Freddy Galvis is batting second against New York Mets SP Jacob deGrom Monday, Aug. 24. SS Andres Blanco is starting at third base and batting fifth Monday.

Fantasy Tip: It isn't a significant value shift for Blanco ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) who has been batting second of late, as he'll just trade fewer opportunities to score runs for more chances to drive them in. Glavis ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) grabs a nice value boost, though, as he was frequenting the bottom third of the order of late. Still, with deGrom ($9,700, 18.4% of cap) taking the hill for New York, both Phillies are risky FantasyScore players Monday.

Phillies | Andres Blanco playing well

Sat, 22 Aug 2015 19:32:23 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies 2B Andres Blanco went 2-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and a walk in a 4-2 win over the Miami Marlins Saturday, Aug. 22.

Fantasy Tip: Blanco ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has hit safely in six of his last seven games, and he has three home runs and seven runs scored during the stretch. His average up to .302, and he is worth a look as a source of cap relief at FantasyScore.

Phillies | Andres Blanco playing third base

Wed, 19 Aug 2015 14:11:22 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SS Andres Blanco is starting at third base and batting second against Toronto Blue Jays SP Mark Buehrle Wednesday, Aug. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Blanco ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) projects to receive everyday at-bats with 3B Maikel Franco (wrist) out and 2B Chase Utley ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) on his way to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Cesar Hernandez ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) will slide back to the keystone with Blanco starting at third. Blanco has a .284/.355/.514 slash line over 123 plate appearances this season. But don't let those numbers fool you, as the 31-year-old journeyman has a career .676 OPS over eight seasons. Blanco is is nothing more than an NL-only and cavernous mixed league option. At FantasyScore, he currently is a nice bargain, though.

Phillies | Maikel Franco still not available

Sun, 16 Aug 2015 10:51:34 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies 3B Maikel Franco (wrist) is not in the starting lineup against Milwaukee Brewers SP Taylor Jungmann Sunday, Aug. 16. SS Andres Blanco will start at third base and is batting fifth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Franco ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) may be able to return soon, so owners should continue to monitor his situation. Blanco ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) is hitting .313 in limited playing time this month but may not be the best option for owners on FantasyScore.

Phillies | Maikel Franco not playing

Wed, 12 Aug 2015 09:58:12 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies 3B Maikel Franco (wrist) is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Aug. 12. SS Andres Blanco is starting at the hot corner and hitting second against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Chase Anderson.

Fantasy Tip: Franco apparently dodged a bullet after being hit on the wrist by a pitch last night, but he could sit out a few more games to let it heal completely. Blanco ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) is a light-hitting infielder for the Phils that can largely be ignored on FantasyScore.
