Chargers | Malcom Floyd out sick

Wed, 01 Oct 2014 14:31:44 -0700

San Diego Chargers WR Malcom Floyd (illness) was out of practice with an illness Wednesday, Oct. 1.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd should be fine for Week 5 against the New York Jets, and he's a good player to put in your FantasyScore lineup for $6,300 (12.6% of cap).

Chargers | Malcom Floyd aware of body positioning

Wed, 10 Sep 2014 14:43:47 -0700

San Diego Chargers WR Malcom Floyd made it a point to maintain better positioning with his body to keep from being sandwiched headfirst in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals. Floyd learned the lesson last year in a collision that ended his season. Floyd's awareness put him in a better position to absorb a hit on his touchdown catch Monday, Sept. 8.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd should be scooped up off waiver wires in standard leagues if he hasn't been already. Unfortunately, he'll have a tough assignment in Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks, and he could be blanketed by Richard Sherman, who wasn't targeted a single time by Aaron Rodgers in Week 1. Floyd will come cheaply at FantasyScore ($3,700; 7.4% of cap), but he could easily wind up being a dud.

Chargers | Strong return for Malcom Floyd

Tue, 09 Sep 2014 20:33:43 -0700

San Diego Chargers WR Malcom Floyd finished with four catches for 50 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 in his first game since suffering a career-threatening neck injury last September.

Fantasy Tip: Although Keenan Allen emerged as the team's No. 1 receiver last year while Floyd was sidelined, Philip Rivers wasted little time reconnecting with Floyd. Thanks to his 6-5 frame, Floyd can create matchup problems for defensive backs, especially in the red zone. Don't be surprised if he becomes a major part of the Chargers' passing attack this year. He faces a tough matchup against Seattle in Week 2, but considering his $3,700 salary (7.4% of cap) is the minimum for receivers in FantasyScore, he could still be worth a look.

Chargers | Malcom Floyd looking forward to camp

Wed, 16 Jul 2014 09:42:06 -0700

San Diego Chargers WR Malcom Floyd (neck) said it was good that he was able to work with QB Philip Rivers during offseason workouts and is looking forward to the start of training camp. "I think it's good for Philip, good for me to get that trust back," he said. "It's good for us to go through these plays right now so in training camp it'll be fluid and then you can run the plays without thinking," Floyd said. He said he is not concerned about the neck injury he suffered last season and considered it a fluke event. Floyd was considered one of the top performers during the workouts.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd likely will have a solid role in the passing game in 2014 if he is healthy. Owners could consider taking Floyd in the later round of drafts if he should he has recovered from his neck injury during training camp.

Chargers | Malcom Floyd confident he is healthy

Tue, 15 Jul 2014 09:33:08 -0700

San Diego Chargers WR Malcom Floyd (neck) said he is confident he is healthy heading into 2014. "I'm confident right now," Floyd said. "I don't have any doubts in my mind right now. It was just a fluke event."

Fantasy Tip: If Floyd can stay healthy, he should be considered a WR4 with upside. Health is the big concern here though.

Chargers | Malcom Floyd seeing plenty of action

Tue, 17 Jun 2014 15:44:48 -0700

San Diego Chargers WR Malcom Floyd saw many passes go his way in practice Tuesday, June 17, as has been the case much of the offseason.

Fantasy Tip: The Chargers want to give Floyd plenty of repetitions after he missed most of last season due to injury. They'd like to get his confidence up, as well. If Floyd can remain healthy, he'll likely be the No. 2 WR in SD. However, he'll be no more than a WR4 for fantasy purposes.

Wed, 28 May 2014 05:46:09 -0700

Chargers | Malcom Floyd receives work in OTAs

Tue, 27 May 2014 15:43:50 -0700

San Diego Chargers WR Malcom Floyd (neck) had the majority of passes go his way during organized team activities Tuesday, May 27, and it was his first practice since he suffered a serious neck injury in Week 2 of last season.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd took a couple of accidental bumps from teammates today and came away unscathed. If nothing else, it could help Floyd's confidence going forward as he comes back from a neck injury.
