Chicago White Sox RP Frank Francisco will report to Triple-A Charlotte Monday, April 14. He has 73 career saves and a 3.93 ERA in close to 400 major league outings over nine seasons. The team's bullpen ERA is last in the American League at 6.93 and is tied for the league lead with 26 walks. RP Matt Lindstrom, the team's closer, has a 5.40 ERA in his first five appearances and blew the save Sunday, April 13.
Fantasy Tip: Save searchers need to put Francisco on their watch list, especially if Lindstrom continues to struggle with Nate Jones (back) on the shelf.

The Chicago White Sox signed free-agent RP Frank Francisco (Mets) to an undisclosed deal Monday, April 14.
Fantasy Tip: Francisco brings some closing experience to a team that may be looking for an option to replace Matt Lindstrom in the ninth-inning role soon. It's unclear if Francisco will need to prove himself in the minors first before getting a shot at a late-inning role in the majors first. Saves-desperate owners in AL leagues might need to snatch him up quickly.

New York Mets RP Frank Francisco is unavailable to pitch Monday, Sept. 9, because manager Terry Collins doesn't want to rush him back too soon and is uncomfortable having him pitch back-to-back days.
Fantasy Tip: Francisco set up LaTroy Hawkins in the team's victory Sunday, so don't expect Frank Frank to steal away the closing duties before the end of the season.

Although New York Mets RP Frank Francisco (elbow) has advanced to Double-A Binghamton in his rehab, the expectation among at least one team insider is that Francisco will not pitch for the Mets this season. The primary benefit of Francisco pitching for the Mets in September would be allowing him to increase his value to sign elsewhere as a free agent during the offseason, which makes the team inclined to cut Francisco loose before he can reappear with them in a major league uniform.

New York Mets RP Frank Francisco (elbow) hasn't been back on a mound since receiving two cortisone shots in his right elbow in mid-July. He's currently long tossing at up to 120 feet. P Jeurys Familia (elbow) is long tossing at 150 feet and should be close to throwing off a mound for the first time since having surgery on his elbow June 5.

New York Mets RP Frank Francisco (elbow) received two cortisone shots last week, and he's expected to be cleared to start a throwing program later this week.
Fantasy Tip: At this point, Francisco will be hard-pressed to make it back this year and pitch for the Mets. Even if he does, he's unlikely to unseat Bobby Parnell as the team's closer. If Parnell is traded this week, though, that's a different story.
