Yankees | Big game for Stephen Drew

Sun, 02 Aug 2015 18:58:13 -0700

New York Yankees 2B Stephen Drew went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, four RBI and two runs scored in a 12-3 win over the Chicago White Sox Sunday, Aug. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Drew ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) has had several big games this year, but he is hitting just .199 and will go several games at a time without any production. He is a high-risk, high-reward value play at FantasyScore.

Yankees | Stephen Drew in lineup Sunday

Sun, 02 Aug 2015 10:16:58 -0700

New York Yankees 2B Stephen Drew will bat ninth against Chicago White Sox SP Jeff Samardzija Sunday, Aug. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Even though his batting average remains below the Mendoza Line, Drew ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) is hitting .267 with a home run and three RBIs in 30 at-bats since the All-Star break. That being said, he is hitting 64 points worse against right-handed pitching (.175) than against lefties (.239), so he should be avoided in FantasyScore this afternoon.

Yankees | Brendan Ryan continues to start

Sat, 01 Aug 2015 13:38:09 -0700

New York Yankees SS Brendan Ryan will start at second base and hit eighth in the order Saturday, Aug. 1, against the Chicago White Sox and LHP John Danks. 2B Stephen Drew is out of the lineup once again.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is 6-for-16 over his past three starts, and he has both scored and driven in four runs in that time. FantasyScore owners should be taking note and using Ryan as a tremendous source of cap relief.

Yankees | Trio of lefties out for Yanks

Fri, 31 Jul 2015 16:37:35 -0700

New York Yankees OF Brett Gardner, C Brian McCann and 2B Stephen Drew are all out of the lineup against Chicago White Sox SP Carlos Rodon Friday, July 31. OF Chris Young is starting in right field and hitting second, C J.R. Murphy is behind the plate and hitting seventh and SS Brendan Ryan is at second base and hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: The only one worth considering at FantasyScore is really Young ($3,000, 6.0% of cap), who excels against lefties. He's in a prime lineup spot to capitalize and return great profit for his daily owners, too. Murphy ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) and Ryan ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) are strictly desperation sources of salary cap relief.

Yankees | Brendan Ryan in again

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 16:47:30 -0700

New York Yankees SS Brendan Ryan is starting at second base for the second straight day and is hitting ninth against Texas Rangers left-handed SP Martin Perez. 2B Stephen Drew is out for the second straight day.

Fantasy Tip: It appears as if Ryan ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) may be entering into a platoon with Drew at the keystone, with Ryan facing southpaws. Ryan provides little offensive help to his fantasy owners, and a spot at the bottom of the lineup doesn't make him attractive at all to daily gamers.

Yankees | Stephen Drew out against southpaw

Mon, 27 Jul 2015 16:38:44 -0700

New York Yankees 2B Stephen Drew is not in the lineup against Texas Rangers left-handed SP Matt Harrison Monday, July 27. SS Brendan Ryan is starting at the keystone and hitting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is a light-hitting utility infielder for the Bronx Bombers, and he should be avoided unless you're desperate for some salary cap relief on FantasyScore.

Yankees | Rob Refsnyder demoted

Sun, 19 Jul 2015 08:46:44 -0700

New York Yankees 2B Rob Refsnyder was sent to Class AAA Sunday, July 19. Stephen Drew will get the majority of playing time at second base.

Fantasy Tip: Drew ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) is hitting just .182 on the season. Despite having 12 home runs, Drew shouldn't be on any fantasy rosters.

Yankees | Stephen Drew hitting ninth

Sun, 19 Jul 2015 08:08:17 -0700

New York Yankees 2B Stephen Drew will start at second base and hit ninth in the order Sunday, July 19, against the Seattle Mariners and RHP Felix Hernandez.

Fantasy Tip: Drew ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has been losing playing time to Rob Refsnyder, and he's highly unlikely to get out of his rut while facing King Felix. FantasyScore owners won't have to look too far to find a better option.

Yankees | Stephen Drew has rough first half

Wed, 15 Jul 2015 10:28:17 -0700

New York Yankees 2B Stephen Drew managed to hit just .182 in the first half of the season, which ranks him worse than every qualifying hitter in baseball this year except for Seattle Mariners C Mike Zunino (.160).

Fantasy Tip: Drew ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) shouldn't have been in many daily lineups, and there's a good chance he'll start to lose considerable playing time at the keystone to either Rob Refsnyder or Gregorio Petit if he doesn't turn things around quickly.

Yankees | Rob Refsnyder set to debut

Sat, 11 Jul 2015 13:09:47 -0700

New York Yankees 2B Rob Refsnyder is in the lineup Saturday, July 11, for his major league debut in place of 2B Stephen Drew.

Fantasy Tip: Refsnyder will face young lefty Eduardo Rodriguez from the ninth spot. He had a .290-7-37 line with 10 steals at Triple-A. Give him a day or two to see what the kid has before using him on FantasyScore.
