Kansas City Royals OF Alex Gordon is likely headed out of the leadoff spot and to the fifth spot following the acquisition of OF Norichika Aoki. "You never know what's going to happen with injuries (or) how people are going to play," Gordon said. "We're going to iron all that out in spring training." Manager Ned Yost has said Gordon will fall into the fifth spot behind 2B Omar Infante, 1B Eric Hosmer and DH Billy Butler.
Fantasy Tip: A move for Gordon to the fifth spot will provide many more RBI opportunities. His runs scored might take a hit, but his power numbers should rise. His fantasy appeal is on the way up batting in the middle of the order.

Kansas City Royals 1B Eric Hosmer started in right field against the New York Mets Saturday, Aug. 3, with DH Billy Butler starting at first base. Manager Ned Yost wanted to have both Hosmer and Butler in the lineup in a National League stadium because C Salvador Perez was getting the day off. "It definitely affects your defense, but you can't have it both ways in a National League game, so you've got to pick what you need," Yost said before the game. "And then hopefully we can get the lead and we can readjust in the sixth inning and get our defensive alignment right. But we've got to have the lead first."

Kansas City Royals 1B Billy Butler is expected to sit the bench in all three games in a National League park this weekend, as the team will lose the designated hitter.
