Updating a previous report, Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia (wrist) has inflammation, but no structure damage, in his left wrist. He is expected to re-join the club in Chicago Tuesday, April 15.

Fantasy Tip: It is still uncertain if Pedroia will play when he re-joins the team, as the reports mentioned swelling. However, the good news is fantasy owners appear to have dodged a major bullet, as the threat of a stint on the 15-day disabled list appears to have passed.

Updating a previous report, Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia (wrist) is not dealing with a fracture in his left wrist, and a baseball source said Pedroia received "great news" Monday, April 14. The injury occurred April 4 at second base during a breakup play at second base involving Milwaukee Brewers OF Carlos Gomez.

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia (wrist) is expected to be fine after being examined Monday, April 14. Although he's undergoing more tests, his injury doesn't look to be serious.

Fantasy Tip: Pedroia's owners can let out one long, collective sigh of relief... for now. The worries about Pedroia were real because of the fact that he dealt with a torn UCL in his thumb all of last season. John Farrell admitted that Pedroia's recent wrist problem had been affecting him at the plate, though, so keep an eye on that.

The Boston Red Sox will continue to approach their leadoff spot in a committee approach. OFs Jonny Gomes and Daniel Nava are likely to continue switching off at the top of the order, and OF Grady Sizemore could also see some time there. Nava is hitting only .138 (4-for-29) with a .219 on-base percentage, and manager John Farrell said he prefers to keep 2B Dustin Pedroia in the No. 2 spot.

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia (thumb) said his thumb if fine after having offseason surgery. He took batting practice Monday, Feb. 17, and said he didn't have any setbacks in his rehab. Pedroia compensated for his thumb injury last year by taking shorter swings and going the opposite way more often.
