Wed, 27 Apr 2016 21:36:09 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia went 3-for-5 with a pair of homers, including a grand slam, and five RBIs Wednesday, April 27, against the Atlanta Braves.

Fantasy Tip: Petey has been red hot lately, posting multi-hit games in six of his past seven outings to raise his average from .268 to .333 just since April 20.

Sun, 24 Apr 2016 22:55:08 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia went 3-for-7 with a double, triple and run scored Sunday, April 24, against the Houston Astros to push his batting average to .321.

Fantasy Tip: Pedroia enjoyed his stay in Houston, collecting seven hits in 14 at-bats with three runs scored, to doubles and a triple. He has managed four multi-hit games and is red hot for his fantasy owners and DFS players.

Red Sox | Petey has two more hits for BoSox

Fri, 22 Apr 2016 21:48:29 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia went 2-for-5 with a run scored and RBI Friday, April 22, against the Houston Astros.

Fantasy Tip: Pedroia has back-to-back multi-hit games for the first time this season, and he has hit safely in 13 of the past 14 games. He remains a tremendous fantasy option across all formats when healthy.

Red Sox | Dustin Pedroia, Xander Bogaerts with big games

Thu, 21 Apr 2016 16:29:09 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia went 3-for-6 with a run scored, double, home run and two RBI in the loss to the Tampa Bay Rays Thursday, April 21. Pedroia was a triple shy of the cycle. SS Xander Bogaerts went 3-for-4 with a run scored, walk and two doubles.

Fantasy Tip: Pedroia has a hit in all but two of the games he's played this year. Despite an increased ground-ball percentage, he has looked fine. Pedroia remains a fantasy starter at second, but his power numbers could be down considerably. Bogaerts injured himself last night but looked just fine today to ease any concerns his owners may have.

Red Sox | Dustin Pedroia hitting too many grounders

Thu, 21 Apr 2016 09:58:32 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia has a 55.6% ground-ball rate, which is the worst of his career. He has hit into five double plays.

Fantasy Tip: It's early, and he's still hitting .268. He's probably someone to pass on in DFS until he starts squaring the ball up, though.

Red Sox | Three BOS regulars resting Sunday

Sun, 17 Apr 2016 08:16:58 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia, OF Brock Holt and C Christian Vazquez are out of the starting lineup versus Toronto Blue Jays SP Aaron Sanchez Sunday, April 17. OF Chris Young will play left field and bat sixth, C Ryan Hanigan will bat eighth and 2B Marco Hernandez will bat ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Young and Hanigan have combined to go 1-for-14 at the dish this year and Hernandez will be making his MLB debut this afternoon. None of these players are recommended options for daily fantasy games today.

Red Sox | Dustin Pedroia has three-hit day

Sun, 27 Mar 2016 16:52:42 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia went 3-for-3, drove in a run and scored a run in an exhibition victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday, March 27.

Fantasy Tip: Pedroia may not hit for as much power as he used to, but he's still a fine low-end starting option at a weak position in fantasy. The 32-year-old dropped about 10 pounds over the winter in an effort to run more this season - he has eight steals over the last two seasons combined - and bats near the top of the order in what should be a formidable lineup, so he should be a strong three-category contributor if he stays healthy in 2016.

Red Sox | Boston veterans sitting vs. Yankees

Thu, 01 Oct 2015 12:41:32 -0700

Boston Red Sox 1B David Ortiz and 2B Dustin Pedroia are not in the starting lineup Thursday, Oct. 1. 1B Allen Craig and 2B Josh Rutledge draw into the lineup against New York Yankees SP CC Sabathia Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Craig ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) and Rutledge ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) are both nothing more than low-priced fliers at FantasyScore Thursday. Rutledge owns a lowly .354 slugging percentage this season, and Craig has a .131/.232/.190 slash line since joining Boston last year. Aim higher in daily contests Thursday.

Indians | Michael Brantley achieves milestone

Sun, 27 Sep 2015 12:49:32 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Brantley became the first Indians player to have 15 stolen bases, 15 homers, 45 doubles and 150 hits in back-to-back seasons. The last baseball player to accomplish the feat was Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia in 2008 and 2009.

Fantasy Tip: Brantley ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) has been consistently strong for the past two seasons. His FantasyScore value is worth dipping into your salary cap, and Brantley figures heavily in someone's plans for 2016.

Red Sox | Dustin Pedroia out vs. Baltimore

Sun, 27 Sep 2015 07:40:35 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia is not in the starting lineup against the Baltimore Orioles Sunday, Sept. 27. OF Brock Holt is starting at the keystone and batting second against Orioles SP Ubaldo Jimenez Sunday.

Fantasy Tip: Pedroia ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has a hit in 12 of 13 games since returning from the disabled list Tuesday, Sept. 8, as he continues to contribute for seasonal owners down the stretch. Holt ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) presents value at his cap hit for FantasyScore players, and he has a .359 on-base percentage in September.
