Red Sox | Boston veterans sitting vs. Yankees

Thu, 01 Oct 2015 12:41:32 -0700

Boston Red Sox 1B David Ortiz and 2B Dustin Pedroia are not in the starting lineup Thursday, Oct. 1. 1B Allen Craig and 2B Josh Rutledge draw into the lineup against New York Yankees SP CC Sabathia Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Craig ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) and Rutledge ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) are both nothing more than low-priced fliers at FantasyScore Thursday. Rutledge owns a lowly .354 slugging percentage this season, and Craig has a .131/.232/.190 slash line since joining Boston last year. Aim higher in daily contests Thursday.

Indians | Michael Brantley achieves milestone

Sun, 27 Sep 2015 12:49:32 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Brantley became the first Indians player to have 15 stolen bases, 15 homers, 45 doubles and 150 hits in back-to-back seasons. The last baseball player to accomplish the feat was Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia in 2008 and 2009.

Fantasy Tip: Brantley ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) has been consistently strong for the past two seasons. His FantasyScore value is worth dipping into your salary cap, and Brantley figures heavily in someone's plans for 2016.

Red Sox | Dustin Pedroia out vs. Baltimore

Sun, 27 Sep 2015 07:40:35 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia is not in the starting lineup against the Baltimore Orioles Sunday, Sept. 27. OF Brock Holt is starting at the keystone and batting second against Orioles SP Ubaldo Jimenez Sunday.

Fantasy Tip: Pedroia ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has a hit in 12 of 13 games since returning from the disabled list Tuesday, Sept. 8, as he continues to contribute for seasonal owners down the stretch. Holt ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) presents value at his cap hit for FantasyScore players, and he has a .359 on-base percentage in September.

Red Sox | David Ortiz out of lineup Saturday

Sat, 26 Sep 2015 10:03:00 -0700

Boston Red Sox DH David Ortiz is not in the starting lineup against Baltimore Orioles SP Wei-Yin Chen Saturday, Sept. 26. 2B Dustin Pedroia will bat second and serve as the designated hitter, with INF Josh Rutledge playing second base and batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Remove Ortiz ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) from your starting lineups. Pedroia ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) is batting .486 in 35 career at-bats versus Chen and is hitting .358 with three home runs and eight RBIs this month, so he definitely deserves to be in your FantasyScore lineups. Rutledge ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) is 5-for-17 during the month of September and is worth considering as a value option.

Red Sox | Dustin Pedroia receiving a breather

Tue, 22 Sep 2015 13:47:36 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, Sept. 22. 2B Josh Rutledge is starting at the keystone and is hitting second against Tampa Bay Rays SP Matt Moore.

Fantasy Tip: Rutledge ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has hit well in his short time with Boston (.315/.375/.370) but has only a home run and seven RBI to show for it in 54 at-bats. He's in a solid lineup spot to return value in daily leagues and is facing a pitcher still trying to bounce back from Tommy John surgery. Rutledge could be a sneaky deep sleeper.

Red Sox | Dustin Pedroia returns to action

Sat, 19 Sep 2015 10:21:07 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia is back in the starting lineup against Toronto Blue Jays SP R.A. Dickey Saturday, Sept. 19, batting second.

Fantasy Tip: Pedroia ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) has had an excellent month offensively, batting .379 (11-for-29) with three doubles, three home runs and eight RBIs. He's worthy of consideration for FantasyScore lineups this afternoon.

Red Sox | Dustin Pedroia sitting vs. Jays

Fri, 18 Sep 2015 12:13:44 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia is not in the starting lineup Friday, Sept. 18. 2B Josh Rutledge is starting at second base and batting eighth against Toronto Blue Jays SP Marcus Stroman Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Pedroia ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) has a hit in each of his six games since returning from injury, including a two-bomb showing in his last start Wednesday, Sept. 16. He stands to finish the season strong for Boston and fantasy owners. Rutledge ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has held his own with a .314/.377/.373 slash line over 62 plate appearances this season, but you shouldn't view him as anything more than a flier at FantasyScore Friday.

Red Sox | Dustin Pedroia drives in five

Wed, 16 Sep 2015 22:54:56 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia went 2-for-5 with a pair of home runs with a walk and a season-high five RBIs Wednesday, Sept. 16, against the Baltimore Orioles.

Fantasy Tip: Pedroia ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) has hit safely in six straight games since returning from injury Sept. 8, and he has four straight multi-hit games with three homers and eight RBIs over the past four outings. Needless to say, FantasyScore players need to strike while the iron is hot.

Red Sox | Dustin Pedroia sitting vs. Orioles

Mon, 14 Sep 2015 12:20:22 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia is not in the starting lineup Monday, Sept. 14. 2B Josh Rutledge is starting at second base and batting second against Baltimore Orioles SP Kevin Gausman Monday.

Fantasy Tip: Pedroia ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) is 6-for-19 over his four games since returning from injury, and he stands to have a nice finish to the season. He should be owned in all fantasy leagues at this point. FantasyScore players should view Rutledge ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) as a potential low-priced flier, but your expectations should be kept in check.

Red Sox | Dustin Pedroia playing second base

Sat, 12 Sep 2015 11:12:06 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia will bat second against Tampa Bay Rays SP Matt Moore Saturday, Sept. 12. INF Brock Holt (back) is not in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Pedroia ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) is 2-for-9 since returning from the disabled list because of a hamstring injury. He is just 2-for-14 in his career against Moore so FantasyScore owners may want to pass on using him today.
