Mariners | Dae-ho Lee could platoon at 1B

Wed, 03 Feb 2016 19:35:06 -0800

Updating a previous report, right-handed-hitting Seattle Mariners 1B Dae-ho Lee is expected to compete for a platoon role at first base with left-handed-hitting 1B Adam Lind, according to general manager Jerry Dipoto.

Fantasy Tip: The 33-year-old Lee hit .282 with 31 home runs and 98 RBIs in the Japanese League last year and has lost 45 pounds this offseason. He could be of interest to owners in AL-only fantasy leagues if he has a strong showing in spring training camp and makes the 25-man roster, although his presence could drastically cut into the playing time of 1B/DH Jesus Montero.

Mariners | Adam Lind acquired by Seattle

Wed, 09 Dec 2015 08:49:32 -0800

Milwaukee Brewers 1B Adam Lind was acquired by the Seattle Mariners Wednesday, Dec. 9. The Brewers are believed to be acquiring lower-level minor leaguers in the deal.

Fantasy Tip: Lind leaves a hitter's park for the cavernous Safeco Field. It's possible that he could repeat his .277-20-87, but the move makes him little more than a midrange first baseman in traditional leagues.

Mariners | Adam Lind close to joining Mariners

Wed, 09 Dec 2015 06:03:48 -0800

Milwaukee Brewers 1B Adam Lind is close to being acquired by the Seattle Mariners, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Lind would lose some luster with the move from a hitter's park to the spacious Safeco Field. He'd still be an adequate CI in the middle of drafts.

Orioles | Adam Lind not a fit for O's

Tue, 08 Dec 2015 09:55:02 -0800

Milwaukee Brewers 1B Adam Lind doesn't appear to be a trade fit for the Baltimore Orioles, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Lind had a successful year in his first season in Milwaukee, hitting .277 with 20 home runs and 87 RBI. A move to Baltimore would be intriguing also, as Camden Yards is one of the better hitting environments in the big leagues.

Mariners | Seattle interested in Adam Lind

Mon, 07 Dec 2015 12:19:59 -0800

Milwaukee Brewers 1B Adam Lind is of interest to the Seattle Mariners, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Lind had a nice 2015 with 72 runs, 20 home runs, 87 RBI and a .277/.360/.460 slash line, and he was especially strong against right-handed pitchers with a .503 slugging percentage and a .882 OPS. Lind projects as a low-end first baseman worth targeting late in drafts entering the 2016 season. He is also quiet reliable given his .291/.364/.478 slash line through 1411 plate appearances over the past three seasons.

Brewers | MIL exercises Adam Lind option

Tue, 03 Nov 2015 12:27:34 -0800

Milwaukee Brewers 1B Adam Lind had his 2016 option exercised. He will be paid $8 million next season.

Fantasy Tip: Lind batted .277 with 20 home runs and 87 runs batted in last season, which was very respectable given the Brewers' struggles. Against right-handed hurlers Lind had a .503 slugging percentage. He will be available well into most mixed-league drafts, so you can target him in later rounds.

Mon, 02 Nov 2015 13:20:16 -0800

Milwaukee Brewers 1B Adam Lind's 2016 option for $8 million is expected to be exercised by the team.

Fantasy Tip: Lind had a respectable season with 72 runs, 20 home runs, 87 RBI and a .277/.360/.460 slash line, and he was especially strong against right-handed hurlers with a .503 slugging percentage and a .882 OPS. Brewers | Adam Lind, Jean Segura sitting

Thu, 01 Oct 2015 14:15:12 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 1B Adam Lind and SS Jean Segura are not in the starting lineup Thursday, Oct. 1. 1B Jason Rogers and SS Yadiel Rivera draw into the lineup against San Diego Padres SP Ian Kennedy Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: The Milwaukee lineup is lacking significant punch, and so there isn't a lot of reason to target Brewers at FantasyScore Thursday. View Rogers ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) as nothing more than desperation flier.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy done catching for 2015

Sun, 27 Sep 2015 00:29:49 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy (head), who is coming off a concussion, will not catch again this season. Lucroy was inserted at first base, but the team plans to use 1B Adam Lind for most starts there the rest of the way.

Fantasy Tip: Lucroy ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) may be out of luck for the season, as the team plans on using him as a backup only at first. While he may play in one or two games the rest of the season, you may want to sit him down the rest of the way.
