Fri, 24 Jun 2016 13:42:41 -0700

Cleveland Indians C Yan Gomes is not in the starting lineup against Detroit Tigers SP Jordan Zimmermann Friday, June 24. C Chris Gimenez will start at catcher and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Gimenez has two hits in his last three games but is hitting only .111 so far this month. Owners in most leagues should be able to find better players to use.

Indians | Cleveland resting two starters

Wed, 22 Jun 2016 13:57:09 -0700

Cleveland Indians C Yan Gomes and OF Rajai Davis are not in the starting lineup against Tampa Bay Rays SP Chris Archer Wednesday, June 22. C Chris Gimenez will start at catcher and is batting eighth. INF Jose Ramirez will start in left field, while 3B Juan Uribe will start at third base and is batting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Gimenez is hitting only .173 this season and should be avoided in most leagues. Uribe is hitting .412 with four home runs and seven RBI over the last seven days and should be a starting option because of his recent hot streak.

Indians | Yan Gomes sitting vs. White Sox

Fri, 17 Jun 2016 12:38:53 -0700

Cleveland Indians C Yan Gomes is not in the starting lineup Friday, June 17. C Chris Gimenez is starting behind the plate and batting sixth against Chicago White Sox SP Jose Quintana Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Gomes has a respectable seven home runs and 27 RBI, but his .167/.204/.339 slash line is incredibly disappointing. He is a low-end catcher option in deep mixed leagues, albeit one with some nice power upside. Gimenez is nothing more than a desperation fantasy option.

Indians | Yan Gomes sitting

Sat, 11 Jun 2016 16:20:57 -0700

Cleveland Indians C Yan Gomes is out of the lineup Saturday, June 11, with C Chris Gimenez hitting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Gomes has struggled all season with the average, and he's not in imminent danger of losing his job to the light-hitting Gimenez. However, Gimenez has started four of the last seven games. He's not worth using tonight against Matt Shoemaker.

Cleveland Indians C Yan Gomes (groin) remains out of the starting lineup Thursday, June 9. C Chris Gimenez is starting at catcher again and is batting ninth against Seattle Mariners SP Nathan Karns.

Fantasy Tip: It's unknown how much more time Gomes will miss after taking a foul ball to his groin area earlier this week. Stay tuned for more updates. Gimenez is batting just .182 with two home runs and three RBI and is a desperation daily pick at catcher tonight.

Cleveland Indians C Yan Gomes (groin) is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, June 8. C Chris Gimenez is starting behind the plate and is hitting ninth against Seattle Mariners SP Taijuan Walker.

Fantasy Tip: Gomes was hit by a foul tip in his groin last night, so he could need more time off. Stay tuned for an update on his condition. Gimenez is batting only .195 (8-for-41) with two homers and three RBI and is a very low-end catching option in DFS action.

Indians | Yan Gomes, Lonnie Chisenhall resting

Mon, 06 Jun 2016 15:05:54 -0700

Cleveland Indians C Yan Gomes and OF Lonnie Chisenhall are not in the starting lineup Monday, June 6. C Chris Gimenez is doing the catching and hitting eighth, while OF Tyler Naquin starts in right field and is batting ninth against Seattle Mariners SP James Paxton.

Fantasy Tip: Gimenez is right at the Mendoza Line (.200) on the year and is a desperation daily pick to save salary cap space. Naquin has homered in three straight games and could be a popular sleeper selection while he's hot, but his daily upside is limited hitting low in the batting order.

Indians | Yan Gomes takes a seat

Sat, 04 Jun 2016 14:38:06 -0700

Cleveland Indians C Yan Gomes is out of the lineup Saturday, June 4, with C Chris Gimenez hitting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Gimenez is hitting .219 but has a homer in three at-bats lifetime off Ian Kennedy. That's probably not enough to make him worth the basement play, though.

Indians | Yan Gomes not in lineup

Wed, 01 Jun 2016 11:58:06 -0700

Cleveland Indians C Yan Gomes is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, June 1. C Chris Gimenez is behind the plate and is hitting ninth against Texas Rangers SP Cole Hamels.

Fantasy Tip: Gomez has been struggling at the plate all year and could see more time off in favor of Gimenez unless he turns things around. Gimenez, though, has a career .220/.303/.343 slash line in eight years and is hitting .241 with two home runs and two RBI in 2016. He's on the low end of catching options for daily gamers.

Indians | Yan Gomes, Marlon Byrd sitting

Fri, 27 May 2016 13:43:17 -0700

Cleveland Indians C Yan Gomes and OF Marlon Byrd are not in the starting lineup Friday, May 27. C Chris Gimenez is behind the dish and hitting eighth, while 3B/OF Jose Ramirez is starting in left field and batting fifth against Baltimore Orioles SP Mike Wright.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez is making the most of his playing time with the Tribe, hitting .287 with three home runs and 18 RBI. He doesn't have much power, but you can't argue with him as a DFS value pick the way he's been playing. Gimenez has occasional pop behind the dish but is a low-end backstop in daily formats.
