Sun, 30 Aug 2015 09:19:32 -0700

Minnesota Twins C Kurt Suzuki is not in the starting lineup against Houston Astros SP Lance McCullers Sunday, Aug. 30. C Chris Herrmann will start at catcher and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Suzuki ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and should return to the lineup soon. Herrmann ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is hitting only .172 this season and should not be a starting option.

Twins | No Kurt Suzuki against Rays

Wed, 26 Aug 2015 13:58:04 -0700

Minnesota Twins C Kurt Suzuki is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Aug. 26. C Chris Herrmann is starting behind the plate and batting eighth against Tampa Bay Rays SP Chris Archer Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Suzuki ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) is hitting .279 in August with 11 RBI over 19 games. It isn't huge production, but it pushes the needle in AL-only, cavernous mixed and two-catcher leagues. Herrmann ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) owns a .530 OPS this season and draws Archer ($9,200, 18.4% of cap). The backstop is an ill-advised FantasyScore play Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Suzuki ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) is receiving a day off and will return to the lineup soon. Herrmann ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has not done much in his limited playing time this season and should not be a starting option.

Twins | Kurt Suzuki resting Wednesday

Wed, 19 Aug 2015 09:06:30 -0700

Minnesota Twins C Kurt Suzuki is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Aug. 19. C Chris Herrmann is starting and is hitting eighth against New York Yankees SP Nathan Eovaldi.

Fantasy Tip: Herrmann ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) isn't a viable option on FantasyScore, as he's hitting only .162 (12-for-74) with two home runs and 10 RBI as the backup catcher. Eovaldi has been much more consistent in the second half of the season, too.

Twins | Joe Mauer, Kurt Suzuki numbers against Sabathia

Tue, 18 Aug 2015 14:48:21 -0700

Minnesota Twins C Joe Mauer is hitting .171 with 16 strikeouts in 41 career at-bats against New York Yankees SP CC Sabathia. C Kurt Suzuki is 7-for-33 with four home runs off Sabathia. The Twins face Sabathia Tuesday, Aug. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Mauer ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) hasn't been bad against lefties, but his poor history against Sabathia says to look elsewhere on FantasyScore tonight. Suzuki ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) isn't popular among the daily crowd, but tonight may be the time to look to him as a sleeper.

Minnesota Twins C Kurt Suzuki is not in the starting lineup against Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber Sunday, Aug. 9. C Chris Herrmann will start at catcher and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Suzuki ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) should return to the lineup in the next game or two. Herrmann has gone hitless in his last six games and should not be a starting option in any fantasy league.

Twins | Kurt Suzuki taking day off

Wed, 05 Aug 2015 14:32:54 -0700

Minnesota Twins C Kurt Suzuki is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Aug. 5. C Eric Fryer is starting and hitting eighth against Toronto Blue Jays SP Drew Hutchison.

Fantasy Tip: Fryer ($1,600, 3.2% of cap), who has only three hits in 15 at-bats this year (.200), gives FantasyScore owners no real reason to use him tonight.

Twins | Kurt Suzuki to lose starter job?

Tue, 21 Jul 2015 12:25:03 -0700

Minnesota Twins C Kurt Suzuki could lose his starting job if the Twins' pursuit of a starting catcher at the trade deadline works out. The Twins are looking at targets like Atlanta Braves C A.J. Pierzynski, San Diego Padres C Derek Norris, Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy, and Detroit Tigers C Alex Avila.

Fantasy Tip: Suzuki ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) has lost some of his punch at the plate, as his batting average has dropped to .227 this season. Keep an eye on what the Twins do before July 31 and be prepared to drop Suzuki outright if he loses a chunk of his playing time.

Twins | Kurt Suzuki will not start

Sun, 12 Jul 2015 08:44:23 -0700

Minnesota Twins C Kurt Suzuki is not in the starting lineup against Detroit Tigers SP Shane Greene Sunday, July 12. C Eric Fryer will start at catcher and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Suzuki ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and will return after the break. Fryer went 2-for-3 with two RBI in his first game since joining the team, but owners should be able to find a more consistent option to use on FantasyScore.
