Indians | Juan Uribe, Tyler Naquin sitting

Fri, 06 May 2016 13:13:04 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B Juan Uribe and OF Tyler Naquin are not in the starting lineup against Kansas City Royals SP Yordano Ventura Friday, May 6. OF Rajai Davis will start in center field and is batting eighth, while SS Jose Ramirez will start at third base and is batting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Davis has played well over his last few games with at least one hit in six of his last 10 games and eight RBI during that span. He could be a sleeper option for owners in daily fantasy leagues. Ramirez has at least one hit in seven of his last 10 games and could also be used in daily leagues.

Indians | Rajai Davis in, Yan Gomes out

Thu, 05 May 2016 11:23:14 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Rajai Davis is leading off Thursday, May 5, and C Yan Gomes has the day off. 1B Carlos Santana moves down to sixth, and C Chris Gimenez is hitting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Davis' playing time has been sparse of late, but his seven steals should keep him in traditional lineups. He's a low-end option in DFS against Michael Fulmer. Santana has showed good plate discipline with seven walks the last five games, but he earns more value out of the leadoff spot. He's a midrange consideration. Gimenez isn't worth DFS consideration in his first start of the season.

Indians | Rajai Davis out again

Wed, 04 May 2016 11:18:32 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Rajai Davis is out of the lineup Wednesday, May 4.

Fantasy Tip: Davis has two starts in the last seven days, but two off days are a factor as well. Lonnie Chisenhall's return has really cut into Davis' time. Davis has a .273-2-9 line with seven steals and is absolutely worth holding onto. However, he's tough to start if this trend continues.

Indians | Rajai Davis, Lonnie Chisenhall sitting

Tue, 03 May 2016 11:26:49 -0700

Cleveland Indians OFs Rajai Davis and Lonnie Chisenhall are not in the starting lineup Tuesday, May 3. OF Marlon Byrd is in right field and hitting seventh, while OF Tyler Naquin is starting in center field and batting ninth against Detroit Tigers SP Justin Verlander.

Fantasy Tip: Neither Byrd nor Naquin are outstanding picks for daily rosters, but Byrd does have six hits in 13 at-bats against Verlander with a home run. Naquin has handled his own in 48 at-bats (.333 average). Both should be considered midrange outfield options as sleepers.

Indians | Michael Brantley, Juan Uribe out

Sun, 01 May 2016 11:06:31 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Brantley and 3B Juan Uribe are not in the starting lineup against Philadelphia Phillies SP Vincent Velasquez Sunday, May 1. SS Jose Ramirez will start at third base and is batting first in the lineup. OF Rajai Davis will start in left field and is batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez is recorded seven hits in his last 15 at-bats and should be a fine starting option in daily fantasy leagues. Davis is hitting a solid .274 with two home runs and nine RBI this season and could be used in some leagues.

Indians | Rajai Davis leading off vs. Phillies

Fri, 29 Apr 2016 12:59:13 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Rajai Davis is starting in center field and batting first against Philadelphia Phillies SP Adam Morgan Friday, April 29. OF Tyler Naquin is not in the starting lineup Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Davis has a career .294/.348/.444 slash line against southpaws and is off to a strong start this season with a .286/.333/.482 line. He is a strong option in all fantasy formats Friday. However, his year-long value is decreasing with Michael Brantley back in the fold. Davis will likely see the smaller side of a timeshare with Naquin. Naquin has been strong to start the season, too, as he has gone 13-for-39 with seven runs and a .350 on-base percentage.

Indians | Three Tribe regulars sitting out

Wed, 27 Apr 2016 14:42:12 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B Juan Uribe and OFs Lonnie Chisenhall and Rajai Davis are not in the starting lineup Wednesday, April 27. 3B Jose Ramirez is at the hot corner and is batting seventh, OF Marlon Byrd is starting in right field and is hitting eighth, while OF Tyler Naquin sees the start in center field and is batting ninth against Minnesota Twins SP Jose Berrios.

Fantasy Tip: The Tribe is facing a top pitching prospect making his major league debut in Berrios, so their is plenty of risk and reward for all three players in daily formats. However, with all three near the bottom of the lineup, they're more of desperation deep sleeper picks.

Indians | Carlos Santana back in leadoff spot

Tue, 26 Apr 2016 14:01:07 -0700

Cleveland Indians 1B Carlos Santana is hitting leadoff again against Minnesota Twins SP Ricky Nolasco Tuesday, April 26. OF Rajai Davis is not playing, while OF Tyler Naquin is starting in center field and batting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Santana's leadoff positioning is likely the result of Davis being out of the lineup tonight. Regardless, it's notable, especially in daily contests. Santana homered in his first at-bat out of the leadoff spot Friday and had four hits in 14 at-bats at leadoff over the weekend. Santana is a nice option for all formats tonight. Naquin has played little this year and is a low-end outfield option.

Indians | Rajai Davis back in leadoff spot

Mon, 25 Apr 2016 14:20:55 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Rajai Davis is starting in center field and batting leadoff Monday, April 25, against Minnesota Twins SP Tommy Milone.

Fantasy Tip: Carlos Santana hit leadoff in each of the past three games, so this is noteworthy that Davis is back atop the batting order. His value can be dependent on where he bats in the lineup, as the more starts he draws in the leadoff slot, the more potential he has to contribute. He's already got five stolen bases on the season and is a decent asset right now for deep leagues.

Indians | Juan Uribe returns to lineup Sunday

Sun, 24 Apr 2016 08:48:40 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B Juan Uribe is back in the starting lineup against Detroit Tigers SP Shane Greene Sunday, April 24, batting seventh. 3B/OF Jose Ramirez, who played the hot corner Saturday, April 23, will move back to left field and bat fifth, while OF Rajai Davis receives the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Although Uribe is batting just .189 through 37 at-bats this year, he is batting .250 (5-for-20) versus righties and .333 (5-for-15) against right-handed starters, so he should be viewed as an inexpensive flier option in daily contests.
