Indians | Rajai Davis leading off

Mon, 27 Jun 2016 13:52:49 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Rajai Davis is batting first in the starting lineup against Atlanta Braves SP John Gant Monday, June 27.

Fantasy Tip: Davis is currently on a seven-game hitting streak and has four RBI and six steals during that span. Davis should be an attractive starting option for owners in daily fantasy leagues.

Indians | Juan Uribe back in lineup Sunday

Sun, 26 Jun 2016 08:34:31 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B Juan Uribe is back in the starting lineup against Detroit Tigers SP Justin Verlander Sunday, June 26, with INF Jose Ramirez playing second base and INF/OF Michael Martinez playing left field. 2B Jason Kipnis (illness) and OF Rajai Davis are receiving the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Uribe is hitting just .196 over the past four weeks and is not a recommended fantasy option this afternoon. Martinez is 6-for-13 (.462) with a home run and two RBI over the past two weeks and can be viewed as a productive source of salary cap relief in DFS.

Indians | Juan Uribe resting Saturday

Sat, 25 Jun 2016 10:29:08 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B Juan Uribe is not in the starting lineup against Detroit Tigers SP Anibal Sanchez Saturday, June 25. INF/OF Jose Ramirez will bat fifth and play the hot corner, OF Tyler Naquin will bat eighth and play center field and OF Rajai Davis will bat ninth and play left field. In addition, C Yan Gomes will start behind the plate and bat seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Naquin is batting .318 with five home runs and 12 RBI in 44 at-bats this month and merits serious consideration for daily fantasy lineups today, while Ramirez and Davis are also batting over .300 during June. Gomes' overall numbers for 2016 remain horrendous, although he is 7-for-14 in his career versus Sanchez and is 6-for-16 at the plate this week, making this a very favorable matchup for him in DFS.

Indians | Cleveland resting two starters

Wed, 22 Jun 2016 13:57:09 -0700

Cleveland Indians C Yan Gomes and OF Rajai Davis are not in the starting lineup against Tampa Bay Rays SP Chris Archer Wednesday, June 22. C Chris Gimenez will start at catcher and is batting eighth. INF Jose Ramirez will start in left field, while 3B Juan Uribe will start at third base and is batting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Gimenez is hitting only .173 this season and should be avoided in most leagues. Uribe is hitting .412 with four home runs and seven RBI over the last seven days and should be a starting option because of his recent hot streak.

Indians | Carlos Santana leading off vs. Rays

Tue, 21 Jun 2016 12:25:07 -0700

Cleveland Indians 1B Carlos Santana is leading off as the designated hitter against Tampa Bay Rays SP Blake Snell Tuesday, June 21. OF Rajai Davis is not in the starting lineup Tuesday.

Fantasy Tip: With 15 homers, Santana is having a nice showing in the category, but his .332 on-base percentage is much lower than his .365 career mark entering 2016. He has been jumping to the top of the lineup at times, and it isn't a significant impact on his fantasy value. Davis is having a nice season for fantasy owners with 35 runs, seven home runs, 27 RBI, 21 stolen bases and a .264/.332/.418 slash line. Outside of the shallowest setups, Davis is worth a roster spot, especially if you're chasing speed.

Indians | Four-hit day for Rajai Davis

Sun, 19 Jun 2016 14:58:16 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Rajai Davis finished 4-for-5, including two doubles, scored twice and stole two bases against the Chicago White Sox on Sunday, June 19.

Fantasy Tip: Meet the new American League stolen base leader. Davis broke his tie with Jose Altuve entering the day and has 20 for the season, trailing only Jonathan Villar for the major-league lead. While his .263 average is a tad low for a good leadoff hitter, it's hard to complain about a player getting work done in four categories when he was readily available on waivers to begin the season. Davis should be starting in just about every league until further notice.

Indians | Tyler Naquin, Lonnie Chisenhall resting

Sun, 19 Jun 2016 07:54:51 -0700

Cleveland Indians OFs Tyler Naquin and Lonnie Chisenhall are not in the starting lineup versus Chicago White Sox SP Carlos Rodon Sunday, June 19. OF Rajai Davis will lead off and play center field, while OF Michael Martinez bats ninth and plays right field.

Fantasy Tip: Davis should be viewed as a viable outfield option in all fantasy formats today. He is batting .287 at home and is hitting .267 versus left-handed pitching this season. Martinez is 8-for-20 at the plate this month and is batting .467 at home through 15 at-bats, making him a potential value play for daily fantasy games.

Indians | Several CLE regulars return to lineup

Sat, 18 Jun 2016 10:45:05 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B Juan Uribe, C Yan Gomes and OF Tyler Naquin are in the starting lineup versus Chicago White Sox SP James Shields Saturday, June 18. OF Rajai Davis is receiving the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Uribe is in the midst of a 1-for-20 slump and is not a recommended fantasy option this afternoon. Gomes is batting just .131 over the last four weeks and is hitting .136 versus righties this season, so he should be avoided as well. Naquin is batting .300 with four home runs and 10 RBI in 100 at-bats and is worth considering as a value play for daily lineups.

Indians | Carlos Santana leading off vs. Royals

Mon, 13 Jun 2016 13:03:58 -0700

Cleveland Indians 1B Carlos Santana is leading off against Kansas City Royals SP Edinson Volquez Monday, June 13, and Indians OF Rajai Davis is batting ninth Monday.

Fantasy Tip: Santana has a .335 on-base percentage this season but a .347 mark when slotted into the leadoff spot. Regardless, there is only a minimal fantasy impact with Santana now more likely to score a run than drive one in. Davis receives a hit, though, and both players are fringe starts outside of deep mixed and AL-only setups.
