Packers | Aaron Rodgers grinds through injury

Sun, 04 Dec 2016 17:38:54 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (hamstring) completed 20 of his 30 pass attempts for 209 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 13 game against the Houston Texans. He also ran three times for 16 yards, battling through his hamstring issue and snowy conditions.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers grinded it out through the hamstring injury he suffered last week in Philadelphia and made it through the game. He'll likely keep getting treatment for the injury, and it will be something to continue monitoring heading into Week 14 in a tough matchup with the Seattle Seahawks.

Sun, 04 Dec 2016 08:56:49 -0800

Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (hamstring) will start Week 13's game against the Houston Texans.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers expected to face Houston

Sun, 04 Dec 2016 06:59:02 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (hamstring) is expected to start Week 13's game against the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers was a limited participant in practice throughout the week and was listed as questionable on the injury report but it would have been a surprise for him to miss this game. He should be viewed as a must-start option in all fantasy leagues despite his reduced mobility, with an average of 317 passing yards over his last six games, along with 17 touchdowns over that stretch.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers limited again at practice

Fri, 02 Dec 2016 13:19:55 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (hamstring) was a limited participant at practice for the third consecutive day Friday, Dec. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers is officially listed as questionable on the injury report, but it's pretty much a certainty he'll be out there Sunday opposite the Texans. And while he might be a bit limited physically, owners would be crazy to leave him on the bench. The former Super Bowl MVP has played like a desirable QB1 all season, and with Green Bay in 'must-win' mode, you can bet they'll continue to lean on him as much as possible. He should not be on any fantasy benches for Week 13.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers gets questionable tag

Fri, 02 Dec 2016 13:01:22 -0800

Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 13 versus the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers was able to finish last week despite the injury and seems reasonably certain to play through it this week, although his mobility will likely be somewhat compromised. As a result of his injury and the matchup, he probably shouldn't be expected to be the elite QB1 he typically is, but there is no question he needs to be started in all leagues.

Packers | Limited practice for Aaron Rodgers

Thu, 01 Dec 2016 15:01:24 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (hamstring) was limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 1.

Fantasy Tip: There are plenty of better matchups among quarterbacks this week than Aaron Rodgers has, but don't overlook him by any means. He has been on a tear of late and is once again matchup-proof. The Houston Texans have defended the pass at an elite level this year, but Rodgers remains a top QB1 consideration.

Packers | Limited practice for Aaron Rodgers

Wed, 30 Nov 2016 13:43:07 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (hamstring) was limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 30. The Packers did not practice; this status is an estimation.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers has looked like the Aaron Rodgers of old lately after a trying start to the season. He is averaging 345 yards and 2.3 touchdowns over his last three games. Rodgers will continue to be a QB1 as long as he is active.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers has impressive TDs streak

Tue, 29 Nov 2016 15:11:35 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has multiple passing touchdowns in six straight games, which is the second-longest active streak in the NFL, behind only Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota, who has his streak out to eight games.

Fantasy Tip: Four of those six games have seen the former Super Bowl MVP throw for three or more touchdowns, as despite his team's losing record for the year, Rodgers has still posted remarkable numbers across the board. When the 2016 season is all said and done, he could wind up leading all quarterbacks in fantasy scoring. In the meantime, he's capable of single-handedly leading fantasy teams through a deep postseason run in the weeks ahead.

Tue, 29 Nov 2016 06:59:17 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (hamstring) said he suffered a hamstring injury in the second half Monday, Nov. 28, but he expects to play in Week 13.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers has a midrange matchup against the Houston Texans next week, and he remains an elite option at the position if healthy.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers tweaks hamstring

Mon, 28 Nov 2016 20:54:00 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (hamstring) said Monday, Nov. 28, that he tweaked his hamstring in the Week 12 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. "I hurt my hamstring a little bit. Was trying to do too much. I'm going to play through it and I'll be good to go next week," Rodgers said.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers finished 30-for-39 with 313 yards and two touchdowns in the win, and he ran for 26 more yards. He is a risky fantasy play heading into Week 13 against the Houston Texans on a short week, as hamstring injuries can be tricky.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers receiving treatment

Mon, 28 Nov 2016 19:05:32 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (leg) hobbled off the field early in the third quarter of the Week 12 game against the Philadelphia Eagles due to an apparent lower left leg injury. He was receiving treatment on the sideline.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers is having a strong game, both running and passing, including a pair of TD strikes to Davante Adams. If he is forced out of action it would be Brett Hundley pressed into action. The injury didn't appear terribly serious, however.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers totals three TDs

Sun, 13 Nov 2016 16:58:58 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers completed 31 of his 51 pass attempts for 371 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the Week 10 game against the Tennessee Titans. He also ran three times for 27 yards and a touchdown.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers has been the Rodgers of old lately, throwing for two or more touchdowns in each of his past four games, and six of the past seven. After a slow start for fantasy owners, you know you need to relax. No. 12 remains a must-start week in and week out.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers throws three TDs

Sun, 06 Nov 2016 21:09:50 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers completed 26 of his 43 pass attempts for 297 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in the Week 9 game against the Indianapolis Colts. He also rushed six times for 43 yards, including a 21-yard scamper.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers has been the Rodgers of old, and fantasy owners love that version. It's out of necessity, as the Packers have virtually no running game with a wide receiver (Ty Montgomery) serving as the top running back.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers could run more

Wed, 02 Nov 2016 19:49:34 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers ran six times for 60 yards in Week 8, and head coach Mike McCarthy said Rodgers could have more opportunities to run if defenses continue to play press coverage on the outside and drop the safeties deep.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers is still going to do most of his damage with his arm, but a few well-timed scrambles each game will only help his value. He is a must-start QB1 in Week 9 against a beatable Indianapolis secondary.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers tosses four TDs

Sun, 30 Oct 2016 21:51:13 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers completed 28 of his 38 pass attempts for 246 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 8 game against the Atlanta Falcons and he ran six times for 60 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers tied a season high with four touchdowns, and he has two or more TD strikes in four of his past five games. He is slowly starting to look more like himself over the past couple of weeks, and he remains a fantasy stud in all formats heading into Week 9 against the beleaguered Indianapolis Colts secondary.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers faces favorable matchup

Wed, 26 Oct 2016 21:22:57 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers will meet the Atlanta Falcons in Week 8 on the road. The Falcons rank last in the NFC in pass defense, allowing 294.3 yards per game. The Falcons have given up 15 pass touchdowns, third-most in the league.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers has struggled by his standards, especially lately, but he remains a must-start fantasy option for this ultra-favorable matchup in the ATL.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers flashes vintage fantasy form

Thu, 20 Oct 2016 20:43:15 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers went 39-of-56 for 326 yards and three touchdowns in a Week 7 victory over the Chicago Bears.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers & Co. squandered multiple red-zone opportunities, settling for two field goals in the first half. After Rodgers committed a fumble that led to a Bears' defensive touchdown to open the second half, things started clicking. Rodgers connected with Davante Adams for touchdowns on each of the next two drives and found Randall Cobb for a score on the following possession. With Ty Montgomery and Cobb serving as the primary rushing threats at the moment, Rodgers may be forced to attempt 50-plus passes more often. He is still a top-five fantasy quarterback.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers has owned the Bears

Tue, 18 Oct 2016 17:58:53 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is 12-4 against the Chicago Bears in his career. In those 16 games he has thrown 35 touchdowns and just nine interceptions. Those 35 touchdowns are tied for the most against any team Rodgers has played, the Minnesota Vikings being the other team.

Fantasy Tip: It's been an off year for Rodgers and the Green Bay offense, but he just plain plays better against the Bears, and Thursday's game is at Lambeau Field. Fantasy owners may be sick of Rodgers underperforming, but this week isn't the week to finally decide to bench him. He deserves at least one more week, especially since both Eddie Lacy and James Starks are likely out.

Packers | Aaron Rogers remains confident

Tue, 18 Oct 2016 15:33:28 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers admitted that he and the offense have been "a little bit off", but he's confident that they'll get back on track soon.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers is right. He just hasn't looked like himself for the most part this season. A lack of a running game hurts, but Rodgers is usually one of the more consistent passers in the league. Don't place him outside of QB1 territory just yet, though. Someone like Rodgers can only be in a slump for so long.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers has mediocre game

Sun, 16 Oct 2016 22:57:44 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers completed 31 of his 42 pass attempts for 294 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the Week 6 game against the Dallas Cowboys. He ran three times for seven yards and also fumbled twice, losing one.

Fantasy Tip: The overall stat line ended up pretty good, but he struggled by his standards and made some poor decisions at times. However, he remains an obvious fantasy must-start in all leagues heading into Week 7.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers strong vs. DAL

Tue, 11 Oct 2016 20:02:23 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has completed 120-of-179 passes (67.0 percent) for 1,302 yards, nine touchdowns, zero interceptions and a passer rating of 105.0 in five meetings against the Dallas Cowboys.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers is a solid QB1 as it is, but this news cements that you should start him. Favorable matchups like these are what owners crave in fantasy football.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers has four TDs in Week 3

Sun, 25 Sep 2016 13:39:59 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers threw for four touchdowns and finished with 204 yards passing Sunday, Sept. 25, in a 34-27 win over the Detroit Lions.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers completed two-thirds of his passes and allowed no interceptions in the win. After last week's shaky performance against the Minnesota Vikings, Rodgers snapped back to the quarterback all fantasy owners knew and loved.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers has big first half

Sun, 25 Sep 2016 11:52:24 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers went 12-for-18 for 174 yards and four touchdowns in the first half of the team's Week 3 game against the Detroit Lions.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers had some problems in the first two games of the season but is back to his normal self in Week 3. He is a must-start player in all fantasy leagues.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers not expected to play much

Fri, 26 Aug 2016 17:04:22 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers will be the starting quarterback in the preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers Friday, Aug. 26, but is not expected to play more than a quarter.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers does not need much playing time during the preseason, so he probably will see a few series. Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and should be one of the first quarterbacks selected in all drafts.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers fine with limited work

Tue, 23 Aug 2016 18:56:47 -0700

Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers expects to play in the preseason game Friday, Aug. 26, against the San Francisco 49ers, but how much has not yet been decided. "Whatever (head coach Mike McCarthy) wants me to do," Rodgers said. "We haven't talked about play time yet. I'm not sure how long he wants me to play, but it'll be good to get out there and get some work with the guys." He doesn't expect to play in the preseason finale against the Kansas City Chiefs next week.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers is a veteran with nine years under his belt, so we know what he can do - and certainly his coaching staff is well aware. He remains a top notch QB1 in all fantasy formats worth selecting in the middle rounds on draft day, especially with Jordy Nelson back from injury.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers may play

Tue, 23 Aug 2016 08:16:08 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers could play in the third preseason game, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers shouldn't need to see much game action this preseason in order to be ready. Rodgers should be one of the top quarterbacks in all drafts.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers, Jordy Nelson to do work

Sat, 20 Aug 2016 11:24:32 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers and WR Jordy Nelson (knee) will work one-on-one as much as they can in practice Monday, Aug. 22, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. It will be Nelson's first practice of the offseason and he will be limited to individual drills. It is still unclear whether or not Nelson will play this preseason.

Fantasy Tip: Finally, Nelson is practicing. He has some catching up to do, but he's already familiar with the offense and should be focused on getting to full health before Week 1. Even coming off a serious injury, Nelson is a fringe WR1 with optimal value in standard formats.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers resting again

Thu, 18 Aug 2016 15:46:48 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (rest) won't play in the team's preseason game Thursday, August 18, against the Oakland Raiders.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers also didn't suit up for the preseason opener, but there's no concern, as he's merely being rested. As is always the case, Rodgers will be entering the new season as one of the game's top signal-callers. He should be one of the first quarterbacks taken off the board.

Packers | Brett Hundley expected to play

Wed, 17 Aug 2016 19:14:45 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Brett Hundley (ankle) is expected to play in the preseason game Thursday, Aug. 18, against the Oakland Raiders after missing the past two weeks due to an ankle injury. He might start if QB Aaron Rodgers is rested again.

Fantasy Tip: Hundley, the former UCLA standout, is expected to be the primary backup in Titletown, and he has a bright future in the league. However, he has no fantasy appeal unless disaster strikes and knocks Rodgers out for a long period of time.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers to sit vs. Raiders?

Tue, 16 Aug 2016 21:31:26 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has been taking primarily scout-team reps in practice and may not play against the Oakland Raiders on Thursday, Aug. 18.

Fantasy Tip: It'd be a bit surprising if Rodgers doesn't see at least a little action this week, given he'll almost certainly sit out on the final preseason game, but the veteran has proven he doesn't need much work to come out firing. Either way, he's a high-end No. 1 quarterback come Week 1.

Packers | Green Bay resting two top QBs

Fri, 12 Aug 2016 14:20:17 -0700

Green Bay Packers QBs Aaron Rodgers and Brett Hundley will not play in the preseason game against the Cleveland Browns Friday, Aug. 12. QB Joe Callahan will be the starting quarterback for the Packers.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers likely will not see much work during the preseason since the team wants him ready for the regular season. He should be a solid No. 1 quarterback in all fantasy leagues.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers may sit Hall of Fame Game

Fri, 05 Aug 2016 11:11:19 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (rest) was given the night off from practice Thursday, August 4, by head coach Mike McCarthy, which is a "telltale sign" he will not play in the Hall of Fame Game on Sunday, August 7.

Fantasy Tip: There's no need to panic if you already own Rogers, as this has absolutely nothing to do with injury. In last year's Hall of Fame Game, the two starting quarterbacks involved, Ben Roethlisberger and Teddy Bridgewater, did not play either, so it's just a standard practice if Rodgers does not participate.

Packers | Jeff Janis receiving high-level education

Sat, 30 Jul 2016 15:32:30 -0700

Green Bay Packers WR Jeff Janis has been a pet project of sorts for QB Aaron Rodgers early in training camp, according to quarterbacks coach Alex Van Pelt. "Working with the young receivers, (Rodgers has been) great. He'll go over after his set of reps and talk through it with them, especially with Jeff (Janis). They're getting a good relationship now, working together and talking about what they expect from each other," Van Pelt said.

Fantasy Tip: Janis is fighting with Davante Adams for the No. 3 job behind Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb. It has been a fantasy-relevant position for some time in Green Bay and has taken on added importance with Nelson dealing with tendinitis in his non-surgically repaired left knee at the moment. Janis is an athletic freak who has reportedly struggled early in camp, but this kind of report lends support to the possibility he may be on the verge of breaking out soon. He's well worth a gamble in the final rounds on draft day.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers talks weight loss

Tue, 26 Jul 2016 10:20:20 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers said he weighs less than he has in a long time, but his muscle mass is as strong as it was when he was 10 pounds heavier.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers remains an elite fantasy quarterback worth selecting as one of the first signal callers in drafts. It's likely not worth reading too much into his weight, but a commitment to health and being at his best entering his age-32 season is encouraging for his likelihood to live up to expectations in 2016.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers in great shape

Mon, 25 Jul 2016 11:09:29 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is in the best shape of his football career, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. Rodgers stopped eating dairy this offseason as part of a more stringent diet.

Fantasy Tip: A healthy Aaron Rodgers is a good Aaron Rodgers. Not only is he in good shape, but he'll have his top receiver back in Jordy Nelson. As is the case in most seasons, Rodgers should be one of the first quarterbacks taken in fantasy drafts.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers, others excused

Tue, 14 Jun 2016 09:23:25 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers and other select veterans have been excused from mandatory minicamp this week by head coach Mike McCarthy. WRs Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson were also included in that group. "The approach is different than the past," McCarthy said. "So, it's obviously tailored toward the younger players." QB Brett Hundley will get most of the work with what is left of the No. 1 offense.

Fantasy Tip: The Packers are playing in the Hall of Fame Game this preseason, so their training camp will begin a week earlier in July than it did a year ago. McCarthy wants to make sure his veterans are well rested. Rodgers remains an elite fantasy QB worth taking in the early rounds, especially since he'll have a healthy Nelson to throw to in 2016.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers changes diet

Mon, 06 Jun 2016 16:24:59 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers said he has removed dairy from his diet in hopes that it will help him stay healthy and extend his career. He said he weighs around 218 pounds at this point, which is his lightest weight since 2007. "I think that's how I can extend my career, if I can eat a little bit better. Because it carries over not just in the offseason, but what you're eating the night before the game and what you're eating in the morning and the afternoon if it's a night game just how that it affects your performance," Rodgers said.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers finished the 2015 season with 3,821 yards and 31 touchdowns and will have Jordy Nelson back from his injury. Rodgers should be a No. 1 quarterback in all leagues as long as he stays healthy.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers recovering nicely

Wed, 23 Mar 2016 09:15:52 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) is on track to work out with minimal limitations during the start of the offseason program next month after having offseason knee surgery. His recovery has gone off without any setbacks, and he's "running around," according to a source at the NFL annual meetings. Rodgers' surgery was "just a cleanup," and head coach Mike McCarthy doesn't think Rodgers will be limited this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers was a disappointment to his fantasy owners last year, but a lot had to do with the fact that he lost Jordy Nelson, his top target, before the season even started. With Nelson coming back, expect Rodgers and Co. to improve in 2016. Rodgers remains a top-tier QB1 that could come at a slight discount.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers will be ready

Thu, 25 Feb 2016 11:09:22 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) is expected to be ready for offseason training activities (OTAs) after having a knee scope, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers had a down season in 2015, and it was mainly effected when the Packers lost Jordy Nelson to a serious knee injury in the preseason. Green Bay's offense never took off. With a healthy Nelson back in 2016, expect Rodgers and Co. to bounce-back. He remains an elite QB1.

Packers | Green Bay to add tight end?

Mon, 15 Feb 2016 11:22:10 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers could have a new tight end with some speed this offseason, according to ESPN.com's Rob Demovsky.

Fantasy Tip: Tight end has been somewhat of a weak position for the Packers in recent years. Richard Rodgers held his own in 2015, but Rodgers does need help, even if/when Jordy Nelson makes a full recovery. If the Packers do sign a tight end, Richard Rodgers' fantasy value would be negatively impacted.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers feeling great

Sat, 13 Feb 2016 10:53:05 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) said his knee feels great less than a month after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery. Rodgers added that the surgery was for a clean-up of an old injury.

Fantasy Tip: The fact that Rodgers is playing golf this weekend indicates that he's recovering well from the injury and surgery. He should be good to go for offseason activities if he doesn't suffer any setbacks. As is the case every year when he's healthy, he's a top-tier QB1 for fantasy drafts.

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) had knee surgery following the loss to the Arizona Cardinals in the divisional round of the playoffs, but he said he is "doing well" and "recovering on schedule."

Fantasy Tip: It doesn't sound like Rodgers is in jeopardy of missing the start of next season, and with Jordy Nelson back in the fold, Rodgers should once again be among the top fantasy options at the quarterback spot.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers injured

Wed, 20 Jan 2016 14:37:57 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (undisclosed) will not participate in the Pro Bowl due to an undisclosed injury. Rodgers is being replaced by Oakland Raiders QB Derek Carr.

Fantasy Tip: Not much can be hurting more than Rodgers' pride, especially after a Hail Mary touchdown to tie the game, only to be thwarted by a controversial coin toss and game-sealing touchdown by the Cardinals last weekend. Rodgers will have Jordy Nelson back next season, which will greatly help the offense as a whole. He's still a top-tier fantasy quarterback heading into 2016.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers not good against blitz

Fri, 15 Jan 2016 10:39:08 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers ranked just 24th in the league against blitzes this year, with a passer rating of 82.4, which was his worst mark against the blitz in his career. The Arizona Cardinals blitz on 44.5% of all opponents' passing plays.

Fantasy Tip: No matter how you slice it, this matchup will be a tough one for Rodgers ($8,700, 17.4% of cap) and the Green Bay offense, especially with Davante Adams likely out. Green Bay's offense has been disappointing for much of the year, and they probably won't look as good as they did in the wild-card round. Rodgers is a big risk on FantasyScore.

Packers | Sacks an issue for Green Bay

Thu, 14 Jan 2016 15:44:57 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers was sacked eight times in the last matchup with the Arizona Cardinals, and QB Scott Tolzien was also sacked once. The Cardinals had 26% of their sacks on the year in the game against Green Bay. No team allowed more sacks than the Packers this year (33) from Week 9 through the end of the season.

Fantasy Tip: The Cardinals love to blitz, and with a shaky offensive line, Rodgers ($8,700, 17.4% of cap) could be under pressure all day. It's hard to justify paying up for him during this disappointing season against one of the all-around strongest defenses in the NFL.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers looks good in win

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers completed 21 of his 36 pass attempts for 210 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in the NFC Wild Card Game win against the Washington Redskins Sunday, Jan. 10.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers had more time, as he was sacked just once. Next week the Packers move on to face the Arizona Cardinals. Rodgers and the Packers will look for revenge after getting embarrassed 38-8 in Arizona in Week 16.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers to take more risks?

Fri, 08 Jan 2016 09:43:02 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers and head coach Mike McCarthy have noticeably not been on the same page a lot during the 2015 season, but Rodgers said any differences he's had with McCarthy were healthy and didn't factor into the offense's disappointment this year. "This is the most frustrated I've ever seen him," McCarthy said.

Rodgers feels that he may need to take more risks to ignite the offense heading into the playoffs after their offense finished the year 23rd in yards and 15th in points after never finishing outside the top 10 in scoring and only once in yards in Rodgers' previous seven seasons. "Whatever it takes to win," Rodgers said. "At this point we haven't been very consistent in any capacity on offense, so if it means being a little riskier with the ball with a bigger reward on the back end, that's something you've got to think about."

Fantasy Tip: Taking a chance on Rodgers ($7,900, 15.8% of cap) on wild-card weekend could be a winning strategy. Because of the ineffectiveness of Green Bay's offense this year, many will stray from him. However, the Washington Redskins secondary can be exploited by Rodgers and Co., so choosing him on FantasyScore could set you apart.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers' disappointing season

Wed, 06 Jan 2016 15:09:00 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers didn't have a quarterback rating over 100 for the final 10 games of the season, and he completed just 57.2% of his passes, averaged just 5.97 yards per attempt, was sacked 35 times and had a passer rating of 81.9 in the final 10 games. He finished the year with the lowest passer rating (92.7), completion percentage (60.7%) and yards per attempt (6.68) in his eight years. Rodgers was also sacked 46 times, the second most in his career and second most this season.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers ($7,900, 15.8% of cap) didn't perform up to his draft placement this year as an elite QB1. However, he could be useful as a contrarian play on wild-card weekend at FantasyScore, as the Washington Redskins were a top-10 fantasy matchup for QBs in 2015.
