Tigers | No Ian Kinsler vs. Yankees

Thu, 02 Jun 2016 13:41:55 -0700

Detroit Tigers 2B Ian Kinsler is not in the starting lineup Thursday, June 2. INF/OF Mike Aviles is starting at second base and batting eighth against New York Yankees SP Michael Pineda Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Sub out Kinsler where you can in seasonal leagues and avoid him in daily contests. Aviles becomes an intriguing low-priced flier in DFS Thursday because of Pineda's struggles this season. Pineda has allowed a .298/.353/.573 slash line to right-handed hitters this season, after all.

Tigers | Ian Kinsler back from illness

Fri, 27 May 2016 15:56:43 -0700

Detroit Tigers 2B Ian Kinsler (illness) is back in the lineup in his customary leadoff spot against Oakland Athletics SP Sean Manaea Friday, May 27. As a result, OF Cameron Maybin moves down to seventh in the batting order.

Fantasy Tip: Kinsler should immediately thrown back into all starting lineups. The leadoff man has excelled this year with a .306/.354/.519 slash line with 10 home runs, 24 RBI and four steals. Maybin takes a bit of a daily hit but has been remarkable since he returned from the DL. Keep him in your lineups.

Tigers | Ian Kinsler scratched

Tue, 24 May 2016 14:19:12 -0700

Detroit Tigers 2B Ian Kinsler (flu) has been scratched from the starting lineup Tuesday, May 24, due to flu-like symptoms. SS Mike Aviles, who was supposed to play in left field, has been moved to second base and will bat eighth. OF Cameron Maybin will now bat leadoff.

Fantasy Tip: Kinsler's absence shifted the lineup around for the evening, most notably with Maybin going to leadoff. He has been the Tigers' hottest hitter in the last week, and Maybin definitely carries increased fantasy value with that hot bat. Aviles' value is still nonexistent.
