Falcons | Roddy White rips former coordinator

Sat, 05 Mar 2016 19:23:51 -0800

Free-agent WR Roddy White (Falcons) said he and Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan were not on the same page, and White questioned Shanahan's system. "It wasn't sound football, but it was things that he was used to doing and things we weren't used to doing as an offense, and it literally cost us like two games," White said Saturday, March 5.

Fantasy Tip: Ripping his former coordinator probably isn't the best way for White to sell himself to potential suitors, but if he lands in the right situation, he could be worth a flier late in drafts.

NFL | Roddy White wants to keep playing

Thu, 03 Mar 2016 09:18:27 -0800

Free-agent WR Roddy White (Falcons) said he wants to play in the NFL for "another year or two." His release from the Atlanta Falcons saved them $2,362,500 against the salary cap in 2016. White caught just 43 passes for 506 yards and one touchdown on 67 targets in 2015.

Fantasy Tip: The 34-year-old wideout still has some juice left in him, but he's obviously come a long way since his days as a No. 1 fantasy receiver. His 2016 fantasy value will depend on where he lands, but he could be a useful WR4 or 5 in the right situation.

NFL | Other options for Roddy White

Wed, 02 Mar 2016 16:45:30 -0800

Free-agent WR Roddy White (Falcons) could draw interest from the Tennessee Titans and Oakland Raiders in addition to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. White has connections with Titans head coach Mike Mularkey and offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie and with Raiders offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave, each of whom used to coach in some capacity in Atlanta.

Fantasy Tip: White definitely has his options open if he wants to reunite with a former coach. Other teams could pursue White, too, obviously, but the Buccaneers, Titans and Raiders seem to make the most sense. His fantasy value won't be the same as it was with the Falcons, but he shouldn't be disregarded either.

Buccaneers | Roddy White of interest to Bucs?

Wed, 02 Mar 2016 15:21:30 -0800

Free-agent WR Roddy White (Falcons) could be targeted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in light of his release from the Atlanta Falcons. White's former offensive coordinator with the Falcons, Dirk Koetter, is now the head coach of the Buccaneers.

Fantasy Tip: There aren't many connections better to have with a new team than playing for your former offensive coordinator. Of course, Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson are the top two wide receivers in Tampa Bay, but White could serve as the primary slot receiver and would give the Bucs a solid possession receiver. White's glory days are over, but he's not completely void of value just yet.

Falcons | Roddy White leaves mark on Atlanta

Wed, 02 Mar 2016 14:49:51 -0800

Free-agent WR Roddy White (Falcons) is the Atlanta Falcons franchise record holder in catches (808), receiving yards (10,863), scrimmage yards (10,882), receiving touchdowns (63) and total touchdowns (63).

Fantasy Tip: White is undoubtedly the best wide receiver to come through Atlanta so far, although Julio Jones may have something to say about that in a few years. White's football days aren't over, though, and he'll have some suitors, but he is far from one of the most consistent wide receivers in fantasy football or in real football.

Falcons | Roddy White released

Wed, 02 Mar 2016 13:50:44 -0800

Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White was cut Wednesday, March 2.

Fantasy Tip: White and Marques Colston were in the same boat this offseason. Both are aging, underperforming receivers at this point in their careers, and it was just time for the next step for their respective teams. White's days of being a PPR stud are over, but there will still be teams interested in the veteran wideout. His fantasy value will be better determined once he signs somewhere else.

Falcons | Roddy White not contacted by Atlanta

Tue, 23 Feb 2016 11:40:44 -0800

Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White has not spoken with anybody from the Atlanta organization or been given clarity about anything regarding his future with the Falcons. White did reiterate that he wants to stay with the Falcons and would view leaving Atlanta as a tragedy.

Fantasy Tip: White remains one of the bigger mysteries of the 2016 NFL offseason. He has played 11 seasons in Atlanta, but the wear and tear of those 11 seasons combined with his mounting age could result in him being let go and signing somewhere else. He'll still have more value in PPR leagues wherever he plays and should not be completely disregarded in fantasy leagues.

Falcons | Roddy White has support from owner

Sun, 07 Feb 2016 18:45:56 -0800

Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White would finish his career with the team if owner Arthur Blank had his way, but Blank said the final decision on White's future will be made by head coach Dan Quinn.

Fantasy Tip: It is starting to sound like White will be returning to the Falcons in 2016, but after his lackluster performance last season, he would be nothing more than a late-round flier for fantasy purposes.

Falcons | Roddy White staying in Atlanta?

Fri, 05 Feb 2016 18:09:51 -0800

Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White was praised by head coach Dan Quinn, and the team is leaning toward keeping White on the team in 2016. "We are still going through it," Quinn said Thursday, Feb. 4. "We're getting there. We are not there yet, but we're getting close."

Fantasy Tip: White drew just 70 targets last season, and if he returns to the Falcons, it seems unlikely the team would suddenly decide to have the veteran become more involved. At best, he is a late-round flier in fantasy drafts.

Falcons | No decision yet on Roddy White

Fri, 29 Jan 2016 18:47:47 -0800

Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White's future with the team has not yet been decided, according to general manager Thomas Dimitroff.

Fantasy Tip: White's numbers fell off the map last year, and if he is back with the Falcons in 2016, he is a late-round flier at best in fantasy leagues.
