Eagles | No changes for Philly offense

Mon, 23 Nov 2015 10:55:56 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said he will not be making changes to the offensive game plan after a lopsided loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 11. Kelly also said there would be no changes to defensive coordinator Bill Davis, whose defense gave up 283 rushing yards and five touchdown passes.

Fantasy Tip: It's unknown if Sam Bradford (shoulder, concussion) or Mark Sanchez will have quarterback duties against the Detroit Lions this Thursday. This offense is currently in disarray, but a nice matchup against Detroit could cure their ills.

Eagles | DC still not mentioning defensive front

Fri, 24 May 2013 12:13:40 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Bill Davis said the team is moving toward using the 3-4 defensive alignment but have not fully moved to the alignment at this point. "Multiple is the best way," Davis said. "I know you guys are tired of that answer. I know you want to hear one or the other or something. What we're doing here is we're taking that wide-nine 4-3 and we're moving in the direction of the 3-4, but where we stop is yet to be determined by the players we have."

Eagles | Early prognosis on OLB roles

Wed, 22 May 2013 10:03:49 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles OLB Connor Barwin will probably play three downs next year and has looked comfortable in practices so far. Trent Cole, however, doesn't look like a cozy fit in the team's new 3-4 defense. He won't be asked to drop back much but must learn to consistently set the edge, and the transition may be difficult. Brandon Graham is also a pass-rushing specialist, but Bill Davis' hybrid scheme probably fits him a little better for sack production.

Fantasy Tip: While Barwin might have sneaky value if used properly, Cole and Graham have falling value in IDP leagues; this is a reminder that scheme can hide or remove a player's potential.
