Michael Eisen, of Giants.com, reports New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said he expects the defensive coaching staff to remain despite the hiring of new defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. "I think we have an outstanding group of coaches," Coughlin said. "Steve is familiar with a number of them and I think that one thing that was a huge plus is I have a great sense that he will work very well with our current coaches and that the transition for him will be smooth." That staff includes Mike Waufle (defensive line), Bill Sheridan (linebackers), Peter Giunta (secondary/corners) and David Merritt (secondary/safeties).
