Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Tommy Hanson (forearm) was scratched from his start with tightness in his right forearm Wednesday, June 26. P Billy Buckner will start in his place against the Detroit Tigers.

Fantasy Tip: More injury concerns for Hanson. Sigh. Depending on the severity of his injury, Garrett Richards could be pressed into starting duty. Buckner is just being used as an emergency starter.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Jerome Williams will make the start Saturday, June 22, in place of SP Jason Vargas (arm pit). P Billy Buckner will be used as a swing man.

Fantasy Tip: Williams will start against the Pirates. He had a nice stretch over starts last month while filling in for Tommy Hanson. He's worthy of consideration in deep mixed leagues.

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim placed SP Jason Vargas (arm pit) on the 15-day disabled list with a blood clot in his left arm pit area Friday, June 21, and recalled P Billy Buckner from Triple-A Salt Lake in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: Jerome Williams and Garrett Richards are the likely candidates to replace Vargas in the starting rotation. Whoever gets the nod could be considered in deep mixed leagues.
