Patriots | Tom Brady limiting turnovers

Thu, 23 Oct 2014 05:46:30 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady has thrown just two interceptions this year, and both came in the Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Fantasy Tip: Brady ($7,800; 15.6% of your cap) has averaged 305 passing yards and three touchdowns per game over the last three weeks. Oddly enough, this surge has come when he was less than 100% health. Brady is a solid buy as a mid-tier QB1 this week against the Chicago Bears on FantasyScore.

Patriots | Tom Brady tosses three TDs

Thu, 16 Oct 2014 21:14:36 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady completed 20 of his 37 pass attempts for 261 yards and three touchdowns in the team's Week 7 game Thursday, Oct. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Brady has now thrown seven touchdowns over the past two games, and reports of his demise seem to have been overblown. When the Patriots have favorable matchups, Brady can still deliver for fantasy owners.

Wed, 15 Oct 2014 13:33:34 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (ankle) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 15, and is listed as probable for Week 7.

Patriots | Tom Brady limited in practice

Tue, 14 Oct 2014 13:28:21 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (ankle) was limited in practice Tuesday, Oct. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Assuming Brady is good to go for Thursday, he has a nice matchup against a New York Jets defense that has allowed 15 touchdown passes so far this season. He'll be worth the price of $7,800 on FantasyScore.

Patriots | Tom Brady has legit injury

Tue, 14 Oct 2014 07:11:51 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (ankle) played Sunday, Oct. 13, through a significant injury, according to two sources. Brady rolled his ankle on the foot of one of his offensive linemen Friday, Oct. 10. Brady required a lot of therapy to be ready to play in Week 6.

Fantasy Tip: Brady ($7,800; 15.6% of your cap) has a solid matchup against the New York Jets in Week 7 on FantasyScore. He had arguably his best game of the season this past weekend and has stepped it up two weeks in a row. While the team isn't likely to divulge much, monitor his practice report this week. He should be a decent, mid-rate QB1 for the price.

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (ankle) was limited Monday, Oct. 13. The team did not practice Monday, but was required to provide the status of injured players if they had practiced.

Patriots | Tom Brady expected to go

Sat, 11 Oct 2014 16:23:55 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (ankle) is expected to play in Week 6 Sunday, Oct. 12.

Fantasy Tip: Brady ($7,400; 14.8% of your cap) came alive last week, but we'd like to see more before we have a solid comfort level with him on FantasyScore. If you're looking for a low-end QB1 price, he's in the discussion.

Sat, 11 Oct 2014 11:25:13 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (ankle) traveled to Buffalo with the team and was not wearing a walking boot Saturday, Oct. 11.

Fantasy Tip: Brady should still be able to play Sunday, Oct. 12, against the Buffalo Bills, but you can never be too careful with a situation like this. He'll cost you $7,400 on FantasyScore this week.

Patriots | Tom Brady tries to extend TD streak

Fri, 10 Oct 2014 21:48:45 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (calf) will meet the Buffalo Bills in Week 6, assuming he is active. Officially, he is questionable for the game. He has thrown at least one touchdown pass in 21 straight starts against the Bills, and he has two or more touchdown passes in seven of the past eight against Buffalo, and 18 of the previous 21 meetings.

Fantasy Tip: If Brady plays he will be a fabulous FantasyScore option at just $7400 (or 14.8 percent of the salary cap). He has fared well against Buffalo over the years, and with Buffalo ranked 20th against the pass, Brady should have another solid performance.

Patriots | Tom Brady questionable

Fri, 10 Oct 2014 14:04:58 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (ankle) was limited in practice Friday, Oct. 10, and he's questionable for Week 6 against the Buffalo Bills.

Fantasy Tip: Brady popped up on the injury report today after reportedly tweaking his ankle last Sunday night. We'd be pretty shocked not to see Brady play against the Bills, and after his rebound against a tough Cincinnati Bengals D last week, he could easily exploit Buffalo's secondary for a nice fantasy day in Week 6.

Patriots | Tom Brady wants to stay with team

Tue, 07 Oct 2014 13:07:39 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady reiterated Monday, Oct. 6, that he wants to be a New England Patriot for the remainder of his career. "I love the Patriots… there is no place I'd rather be. I play for the greatest owner and, to me, the greatest coach of all time."

Fantasy Tip: Things are certainly sounding a little more comfortable for Brady compared to last week after a bounce-back performance against the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday night. While Brady isn't out of the woods as far as inconsistency, he's still worth starting and will cost $7,400 on FantasyScore this week.

Patriots | No tension between Pats and Tom Brady

Mon, 06 Oct 2014 10:03:59 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady said there isn't any tension between him and the coaching staff this year, and his input into the offensive game plans and pre-snap adjustments haven't been taken away. "I've always had input and there's not one play that's ever been called in the game that I've said, 'Look I don't want to run that play or that's not the way it works,'" Brady said.

Fantasy Tip: Reports likely surfaced about tension after the Patriots' blowout loss to the Kansas City Chiefs last Monday night. However, a quick turnaround produced positive results for New England against a tough Cincinnati Bengals team.

Patriots | Tom Brady scared in the pocket?

Tue, 30 Sep 2014 19:27:29 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady has looked "scared to death" throwing the ball this season, his former teammate, Rodney Harrison, said Tuesday, Sept. 30.

Fantasy Tip: New England's offensive line has been a revolving door this season so it would be tough to blame Brady if he is feeling a little jittery in the pocket. Scared or not, Brady's numbers have been way down, and with the Patriots facing a stout Cincinnati defense in Week 5, he has serious bust potential at FantasyScore where he will take up 14.8% of the cap ($7,400).

Patriots | O-line hurting Patriots

Tue, 30 Sep 2014 09:17:43 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady and the offense struggled mightily in a 41-14 thrashing by the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4 Monday, Sept. 29, and head coach Bill Belichick hasn't been able to settle on a starting group on the offensive line. C Bryan Stork, a rookie, debuted as the starting center, and OG Cameron Fleming debuted as the starting guard. The team benched both starting tackles at various points during the game. Brady hasn't had much time to throw all year, and he was off target Monday.

Fantasy Tip: Until New England's offensive line can gain some consistency, Brady may continue to struggle to put up numbers in this weak offense. Rob Gronkowski also continues to look much less than 100 percent healthy. Until we see improvements, it's probably safer to stay away from Brady at FantasyScore.

Patriots | Tom Brady lifted early

Mon, 29 Sep 2014 19:27:12 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady completed 14 of his 23 pass attempts for 159 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in the Week 4 loss against the Kansas City Chiefs Monday, Sept. 29. One of the interceptions was returned for a touchdown.

Fantasy Tip: It was a very un-Brady-like performance. His departure from the game was due to the lopsided nature of the score, as it was 41-7 when he was lifted for rookie Jimmy Garoppolo.

Patriots | Tom Brady rushed to make throws

Wed, 24 Sep 2014 13:09:00 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady didn't try to get deeper into his progressions in Week 3 against the Oakland Raiders until late in the second half. There were only two times when Brady looked past his first read and wasn't under serious pressure from the Raiders' pass rush. On both of those instances, Brady completed a pass to WR Julian Edelman. Brady has been getting hit hard or pressured when looking through his progressions deeper down the field, which is why Edelman and TE Rob Gronkowski are being targeted more - they are his best and most consistent receivers.

Fantasy Tip: Are Brady's glory days behind him? That's probably the case, but he can still be productive in the right matchups. However, beyond Edelman and Gronkowski, his other receiving options will be weak flex plays until the offensive line can give Brady more time to look through all of his downfield options.

Patriots | Tom Brady's calf could be an issue

Mon, 22 Sep 2014 08:48:14 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (calf) could have a legit calf injury because his touch and velocity has been off in the early part of the season. Brady also rushed a few throws in Week 2 after taking some hits the previous week. Brady appears to have a lack of trust with his offensive line, in the opinion of beat writer Chad Finn.

Fantasy Tip: Brady started slowly last season but eventually picked it up. He could very well do the same this season, or this could be a typical regression for a 37-year-old quarterback. Either way, he's a very shaky QB1 right now.

Patriots | Tom Brady leaning on Julian Edelman

Mon, 22 Sep 2014 07:13:45 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady has completed 84.6 percent of his passes to WR Julian Edelman. He has completed just 51.1 percent of his passes to other players.

Fantasy Tip: Brady has yet to have a banner fantasy day thus far, but Edelman is playing like a WR1 in PPR leagues. Brady is a weak QB1 right now due to the lack of continuity on offense and should only be played in good matchups right now.

Patriots | Tom Brady struggling deep

Tue, 16 Sep 2014 07:43:45 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady is 3-for-20 on passing attempts of 15 yards or more in the first two weeks.

Fantasy Tip: Brady is priced at $8,200 (16.4% of your cap) on FantasyScore this week. He has a good matchup against the Oakland Raiders, but there are better options at lower prices than Brady until he gets in-sync with his receivers.

Patriots | Tom Brady not on injury report

Wed, 10 Sep 2014 22:03:37 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (calf) was not listed on the team's first injury report for Week 2 Wednesday, Sept. 10. He was on the injury report last week with a calf ailment.

Fantasy Tip: Brady was able to play in Week 1, and the injury appears to be a non-issue. FantasyScore owners should feel confident starting him in Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Patriots | Tom Brady practicing

Wed, 10 Sep 2014 09:10:43 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (calf) is participating in practice Wednesday, Sept. 10.

Fantasy Tip: Brady was able to play last week with the injury and should be on the field again for Week 2. Brady had a solid game Week 1 but did not put up spectacular numbers. Brady costs $7,800 at FantasyScore, which seems to be a fair value for him.

Patriots | Tom Brady struggles with pressure

Tue, 09 Sep 2014 14:16:46 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady struggled under pressure against the Miami Dolphins Sunday, Sept. 7. Brady was pressured on 16 dropbacks, according to ESPN, and went 0-for-6 with four sacks while under pressure in the second half.

Fantasy Tip: Every quarterback performs worse under pressure, but Brady really showed that against the Dolphins. The Patriots offensive line looked very shaky and could diminish Brady's fantasy value as the season progresses. That being said, he still didn't throw an interception and has most of his offense intact. He could be a nice play against the Minnesota Vikings for $7,800 on FantasyScore.

Mon, 08 Sep 2014 10:17:40 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady passed Warren Moon for No. 6 on the all-time NFL passing list Sunday, Sept. 27. Brady was 29-for-56 for 249 yards and a touchdown in the season-opening loss to the Miami Dolphins.

Fantasy Tip: Brady wasn't spectacular against an improved Dolphins squad. We warned you that it would be tough for Brady to deliver profit on his FantasyScore price in Week 1.

Patriots | Tom Brady questionable

Fri, 05 Sep 2014 14:22:40 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (calf) was limited in practice Friday, Sept. 5, and is questionable for the team's Week 1 game.

Fantasy Tip: While there is no doubt Brady will play in this game, his FantasyScore price of $7,500 (155 of cap) makes him a risky play, especially if he is not at full strength.

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (calf) returned to practice Friday, Sept. 5, a day after sitting out with a calf injury. Brady said Thursday, Sept. 4, that he's ready for the season opener against the Miami Dolphins this weekend despite the injury.

Fantasy Tip: You should think twice before spending $7,500 (15% of your cap) on Brady against the Dolphins in Week 1, especially since one of his favorite targets, Rob Gronkowski (knee) will likely be limited.

Patriots | Tom Brady to play Sunday

Thu, 04 Sep 2014 18:11:44 -0700

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (calf) will play against the Miami Dolphins Sunday, Sept. 7, according to a source. The injury popped up in the last 24 hours and will require some management.

Fantasy Tip: Brady is going to be on the field in Week 1, but whether or not he is 100 percent is another story. He will take up 15% of your cap ($7,500) at FantasyScore, and investing that much in a quarterback that might not be at full strength is risky.

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (calf) did not practice Thursday, Sept. 4, due to a calf injury.

Thu, 07 Aug 2014 05:43:54 -0700

Fri, 20 Jun 2014 12:17:58 -0700

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola and QB Tom Brady have developed a nice rapport this offseason, according to a source. WR Kenbrell Thompkins also impressed during drills, beating new CB Brandon Browner frequently.

Fantasy Tip: Now the trick will be for Amendola to develop a rapport with good health, as he has missed 11 games the past two seasons. If Amendola can stay healthy and further his connection with Brady, he could be an under-the-radar sleeper in 2014.

Mon, 26 May 2014 14:07:25 -0700

"[Head coach Bill Belichick] doesn't care who the quarterback is here. He's always going to play the guy who he thinks gives him the best chance to win. It's not my role to choose players here, thankfully. And this is not the first time they've taken another quarterback either. There's no entitlement in the NFL. I don't expect to be given anything.
