Seattle Mariners 2B Robinson Cano will not play in spring games until Saturday, March 14, after the death of his grandfather in the Dominican Republic.
Fantasy Tip: Cano's absence shouldn't affect his readiness for the start of the season. Cano had a power outage in his new confines with a .314-14-82 season. Second base is pretty thin, and Cano is among the top three at the position.
USA TODAY and FantasyScore sends its condolences to Cano's family and friends.

Seattle Mariners 2B Robinson Cano is slimmer this spring, and he's dropped 13 pounds to weigh 212 pounds.
Fantasy Tip: The drop in weight could be another reason to hesitate on selecting Cano as your starting second baseman early in drafts. However, even with a shaky power profile to begin with in Seattle, he remains the No. 1 fantasy second baseman on the board.
