Steelers | Shaun Suisham cut

Fri, 24 Jun 2016 07:05:25 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers PK Shaun Suisham (knee) was released Friday, June 24, with a failed physical designation. PK Chris Boswell enters training camp as the likely starter.

Fantasy Tip: Boswell should be an upper-middle kicker option in fantasy since the Steelers' offense is so potent. However, they've sent messages that they could attempt two-point conversions often. That could hurt Boswell slightly.

Steelers | Pittsburgh could trade a kicker

Mon, 20 Jun 2016 10:52:59 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers PKs Shaun Suisham and Chris Boswell will be competing for the kicker job during training camp, but the team may look to trade one of the kickers before the start of the regular season, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Jeremy Fowler.

Fantasy Tip: Boswell may have an edge over Suisham entering camp because he is cheaper, but owners will need to keep an eye on the situation. Both probably will have jobs in 2016 and should both be decent options in deeper leagues.

Steelers | Shaun Suisham expected to kick soon

Wed, 15 Jun 2016 15:29:12 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers PK Shaun Suisham (knee) is expected to able to kick before the start of training camp, according to head coach Mike Tomlin.

Fantasy Tip: Suisham continues to be sidelined because of the knee injury he suffered last season but will compete with Chris Boswell for the job during camp. He may be the underdog for the job because of his high salary but should be a kicker in a team in 2016. Suisham is a decent fantasy kicker but may not be a weekly starting option.

Steelers | Chris Boswell expects competition

Fri, 03 Jun 2016 15:02:31 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers PK Chris Boswell said he expects to compete with PK Shaun Suisham (knee) for the kicker job during training camp. Boswell may have an edge over Suisham because of his lower salary.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to keep an eye on the situation during the preseason because the winner of the competition should be a solid fantasy option.

Steelers | Shaun Suisham aims for training camp

Tue, 31 May 2016 19:58:03 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers PK Shaun Suisham (knee) will not kick until training camp. The goal is for Suisham to compete for the starting job, but PK Chris Boswell might have a leg up in the competition due to his performance last season and his low-priced contract.

Fantasy Tip: Suisham might be on the outs in the Steel City unless Boswell completely tanks in training camp and the preseason, but if he is healthy he might not have a difficult time finding a job if it isn't in Pittsburgh. Fantasy owners in seasonal formats will want to watch the situation closely.

Steelers | Shaun Suisham will battle for starter

Tue, 16 Feb 2016 12:53:30 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers PK Shaun Suisham won't be cut anytime soon, according to general manager Kevin Colbert. Colbert said there will be a kicker competition this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Suisham's main competition figures to be Chris Boswell, who performed well when he took over or Suisham, especially in the playoffs.

Steelers | Shaun Suisham not cleared yet

Fri, 12 Feb 2016 17:40:57 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers PK Shaun Suisham (knee) has not been cleared to kick at this point since he is still recovering from the torn anterior cruciate ligament and torn meniscus he suffered during the preseason. Suisham said he believes he has a good chance to be the kicker next season if he is healthy.

Fantasy Tip: Suisham should receive clearance to kick at some point this offseason and will have to compete with Chris Boswell if he wants the kicking job back. Suisham may be a candidate to be released since he makes around $2 million more than Boswell does. Whoever wins the kicking job should be a solid fantasy option because of the team's offense.

Steelers | Shaun Suisham may not return

Sun, 24 Jan 2016 14:00:58 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers PK Shaun Suisham may be on the roster bubble because he is scheduled to count $3.5 million against the cap in 2016, while PK Chris Boswell is scheduled to count only $565,000 against the cap.

Fantasy Tip: Boswell played very well after signing with the Steelers a few weeks into the season. He probably is the favorite for the job entering next season and will be a popular fantasy option because of the team's offense. Suisham probably would be able to find a job with another team and could have some value.

Steelers | PIT restructures contracts

Tue, 01 Sep 2015 11:13:57 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown, TE Heath Miller and PK Shaun Suisham all had their contracts restructured Tuesday, Sept. 1. The restructuring created about $6 million in salary cap space for the Steelers, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: This shouldn't have much of an impact on these three players as far as fantasy football is concerned. Brown is still arguably the top fantasy wideout. Miller is a TE2.
