Packers | DuJuan Harris trying to get accustomed to cold weather

Wed, 02 Jan 2013 14:13:56 -0800

Green Bay Packers running backs coach Alex Van Pelt said RB DuJuan Harris practiced without sleeves Wednesday, Jan. 2, to try and get comfortable playing in cold weather. Van Pelt said ball security could be a factor in the cold weather but Harris has big hands for his size which should help in that area. RB Ryan Grant could receive more carries in the Wild Card playoff game because he has played in cold weather playoff games before. Van Pelt said RB Alex Green will be available to the coaches whenever they need him to play.

Packers | Ryan Grant expected to be active

Thu, 06 Dec 2012 11:56:39 -0800

Green Bay Packers RB Ryan Grant is expected to be active in Week 14, according to manager Mike McCarthy. "And frankly, where we are from a health standpoint, we might not have a choice," McCarthy said.

Fantasy Tip: McCarthy doesn't exactly give Grant a ringing endorsement. The expectation is that Alex Green will receive the majority of work, but with Green Bay not all that committed to the run, he's a risky flex option against Detroit.

Packers | Ryan Grant agrees to terms

Wed, 05 Dec 2012 07:13:26 -0800

The Green Bay Packers agreed to terms with free-agent RB Ryan Grant (Redskins) Wednesday, Dec. 5. Grant should be practicing with the team later in the day. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: If anything, Grant will add some depth to the Packers' backfield. With James Starks likely done for the season, the team has Alex Green and little else. John Kuhn figures to see additional carries as well. Grant joined the Washington Redskins earlier in the season but played in just one game, rushing once for five yards. Grant may not have much left in the tank, but the team's backfield situation merits him at least getting a waiver-wire look.
