Fri, 09 Oct 2015 14:25:40 -0700
Detroit Lions WR Lance Moore (ankle) and TE Brandon Pettigrew (hamstring) are probable for Week 5 against the Arizona Cardinals. Pettigrew was limited in practice Friday, Oct. 9, while Moore was a full participant.
Fantasy Tip: Both Moore ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Pettigrew ($2,000) are strictly salary cap relief options on FantasyScore.
Thu, 08 Oct 2015 14:38:46 -0700
Detroit Lions WR Lance Moore (ankle) practiced in full Thursday, Oct. 8.
Fantasy Tip: Moore ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) doesn't have more than three catches or 22 yards in any game this year. He shouldn't be on anyone's radar on FantasyScore this weekend against a nasty Arizona Cardinals secondary.
Wed, 07 Oct 2015 13:46:59 -0700
Detroit Lions LB Travis Lewis (ankle) and DT Haloti Ngata (calf) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 7. DE Ziggy Ansah (shoulder), S James Ihedigbo (quadriceps), P Sam Martin (knee), CB Rashean Mathis (calf) and OG Larry Warford (ankle) were limited. New Orleans Saints WR Willie Snead has drawn comparisons to former WR Lance Moore with his play in training camp.
Wed, 12 Aug 2015 21:11:13 -0700
Detroit Lions WR Lance Moore has experience, knowledge of the offense and ability to play the slot which is likely to give him an edge over other receivers vying for the last spots on the 53-man roster.
Fantasy Tip: Moore could win the No. 3 wide receiver for the Lions, and he might re-emerge as a useful WR4 or flex fantasy play in leagues of 12 or more teams.
Wed, 12 Aug 2015 21:10:39 -0700
Detroit Lions WR Ryan Broyles is not expected to make the 53-man roster, according to beat writer Tim Twentyman. He feels the Lions will keep five wide receivers with WRs Calvin Johnson, Golden Tate, Corey Fuller, Jeremy Ross and Lance Moore making the roster.
Fantasy Tip: Broyles was ultra-talented coming out of college, but injuries have made him a fringe NFL player. Even if he makes the roster he is not projected to be useful in fantasy football.
Mon, 06 Jul 2015 16:02:44 -0700
Detroit Lions WRs Jeremy Ross, Corey Fuller, Ryan Broyles and Lance Moore will all be candidates for the slot receiver job during training camp. Ross worked with the first-team offense during offseason workouts, but his roster spot is uncertain at this point.
Fantasy Tip: The Lions have several other options in the passing game, so it is not known if the winner of the competition will have a lot of fantasy value. The winner of the competition could be a late-round option in fantasy leagues but would not be a weekly starting option.
Thu, 28 May 2015 17:24:26 -0700
Detroit Lions WR Lance Moore is excited to be back in the offense led by Lions offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi. "This is the offense I had the most success in in my career," said Moore. "I played in this offense for eight years and I think Joe Lombardi was there six or seven of those years that I was there," Moore said Thursday, May 28.
Fantasy Tip: Moore is likely to win one of the final two spots in the Lions' wide receiver corps. Moore shouldn't be a consideration in fantasy drafts, but he could become an option on FantasyScore, if the Lions suffer some injuries to their receiver group.
Thu, 21 May 2015 11:22:21 -0700
Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions WR Lance Moore signed a one-year contract worth $1.05 million. He will earn a base salary of $970,000 after receiving a $40,000 signing bonus. Moore will receive a $40,000 roster bonus if he makes the Lions' Week 1 roster. Earning the minimum salary benefit means Moore will count $655,000 against Detroit's 2015 salary cap.
Fantasy Tip: Moore is hardly a lock to make the team, but he could have fleeting fantasy value with the right matchups if he does land a top-three receiver spot. He's a better DFS play on FantasyScore than a traditional draft choice.

Tue, 21 Oct 2014 09:48:08 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Martavis Bryant cut into WR Markus Wheaton's workload in Week 7 against the Houston Texans, and QB Ben Roethlisberger took three "shot" plays down the field to Bryant. The team is unsettled at receiver behind WR Antonio Brown, with WRs Wheaton, Lance Moore and Darrius Heyward-Bey fighting for targets. It was the first game in which Bryant was active this year.
Fantasy Tip: Bryant had a fine showing on Monday night in his first game this year. However, the second and third options behind Brown are hard to predict right now, making them nothing more than risky flex plays based on matchups.
Thu, 09 Oct 2014 09:03:26 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Justin Brown is higher on the depth chart than WR Lance Moore, because the team believes Brown is a better receiver than Moore.
Fantasy Tip: Moore missed the first few weeks of the season, which allowed Brown to receive valuable playing time. Brown likely will continue to receive more time as the slot receiver unless he suffers an injury, but neither player is a great fantasy option at this point.
Fri, 19 Sep 2014 13:48:45 -0700

OG Ramon Foster (ankle) is listed as questionable, while WR Martavis Bryant (shoulder), DE Brett Keisel (non-injury), DT Steve McLendon (shoulder), WR Lance Moore (groin) and SS Troy Polamalu (non-injury) are listed as probable. Wed, 17 Sep 2014 13:20:26 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Lance Moore (groin) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 17.
Fantasy Tip: It appears like Moore will be able to play in Week 3 after missing the first two games of the season. Moore costs only $3,700 on FantasyScore, but owners can find better options to use.
Tue, 16 Sep 2014 10:06:03 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Lance Moore (groin) practiced in full Tuesday, Sept. 16, and the team will keep tabs on how he responds this week, according to head coach Mike Tomlin. Moore has missed the first two regular season games.
Fantasy Tip: Moore will likely be up in the air for the Week 3 game against the Carolina Panthers on the road. Even if Moore starts for the first time this year, he shouldn't be in your FantasyScore lineups.
Thu, 11 Sep 2014 16:05:36 -0700
The Pittsburgh Steelers have declared OG Chris Hubbard, DT Daniel McCullers, RB Dri Archer, WR Lance Moore, QB Landry Jones, WR Martavis Bryant, OG Wesley Johnson inactive for Week 2.
Wed, 10 Sep 2014 13:23:27 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Lance Moore (groin) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 10, and has been ruled out for Week 2.
Fantasy Tip: Moore only had a few days to get ready and will sit out his second straight game. Moore will not be a fantasy option until he recovers from the injury.
Tue, 09 Sep 2014 16:31:56 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Lance Moore (groin) did not practice Tuesday, Sept. 9.
Fantasy Tip: Moore wasn't active in Week 1 and doesn't have much time to heal before Week 2 against the Baltimore Ravens Thursday night. He'll be cheap $3,700 (7.4% of cap), but even if he does play, Markus Wheaton is the more intriguing wideout option behind Antonio Brown in this offense.
Mon, 08 Sep 2014 22:07:52 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Dri Archer (ankle, knee), WR Martavis Bryant (shoulder), DE Brett Keisel (non-injury related), CB Brice McCain (groin), DT Steve McLendon (stinger), WR Lance Moore (groin), SS Troy Polamalu (non-injury related), FS Shamarko Thomas (Achilles', ankle) and C Cody Wallace (finger) each were estimated as limited participants for practice Monday, Sept. 8. The team is required to release an injury report for their Week 2 game Thursday, Sept. 11, against the Baltimore Ravens, even though they did not officially take the practice field Monday.
Mon, 08 Sep 2014 12:39:42 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Lance Moore (groin) is considered questionable for Week 2, according to head coach Mike Tomlin.
Fantasy Tip: The team is on a short week, so Moore could be held out again so he can have more time to rest his injury. Owners should probably consider not using Moore this week since there are probably better options available.
Sun, 07 Sep 2014 08:34:22 -0700
The Pittsburgh Steelers have declared CB Brice McCain, OG Chris Hubbard, DT Daniel McCullers, WR Lance Moore, QB Landry Jones, WR Martavis Bryant, OG Wesley Johnson inactive for Week 1.
Fri, 05 Sep 2014 13:31:46 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Lance Moore (groin) did not practice Friday, Sept. 5, and has been ruled out for Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns. It'll open up snaps for WRs Justin Brown and/or Martavis Bryant (shoulder), but Bryant is unlikely to play because of a shoulder ailment. That means Brown and WR Darrius Heyward-Bey will likely be used alongside WRs Antonio Brown and Markus Wheaton. Browns CB Joe Haden is likely to lock on to Brown for the majority of the game, meaning the other receivers could see good opportunities to make an impact.
Fantasy Tip: Wheaton presents an excellent buying opportunity at FantasyScore against the Browns at a price of $3,700 (7.4% of cap) - the basement salary for a wideout.
Thu, 04 Sep 2014 15:17:34 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Lance Moore (groin) did not practice for the second straight day Thursday, Sept. 4.
Fantasy Tip: It's unknown what Moore's chances of playing Sunday against the Cleveland Browns are. We wouldn't advise starting him, though, even at a FantasyScore price of $4,000. The smarter play would be Markus Wheaton ($3,700 - 7.4 percent of cap).
Wed, 03 Sep 2014 13:32:21 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Lance Moore (groin) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 3.
Fantasy Tip: Moore has had some fantasy value in previous seasons, but he probably should not be owned in many fantasy leagues at this point. Owners who have him on their roster can keep him on the bench.
Wed, 27 Aug 2014 22:01:17 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Darrius Heyward-Bey appears to be in good shape for a roster spot, as the team will likely keep six receivers on the 53-man roster. WRs Antonio Brown, Markus Wheaton, Lance Moore, Martavis Bryant, Justin Brown and Heyward-Bey are expected to comprise the group.
Mon, 07 Jul 2014 15:59:32 -0700
Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Steelers WRs Justin Brown, Darrius Heyward-Bey and Derek Moye are still battling for the No. 5 wide receiver job. WRs Antonio Brown, Lance Moore, Markus Wheaton and Martavis Bryant hold the top four spots on the depth chart.
Fantasy Tip: There isn't a lot of fantasy value to go around after Brown, Wheaton and Moore. Bryant is worthy of a late-round flier in deep leagues, given his size in comparison to the Steelers other receivers, and potential end zone usage. Heyward-Bey should stick with the team, leaving recently-drafted Brown to beat out Moye, who failed to see much playing time in 2013, after breaking camp as an undrafted free agent.
Fri, 20 Jun 2014 20:43:29 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Lance Moore said he expects the team to use the no-huddle offense extensively this upcoming season based on offseason workouts.
Sat, 07 Jun 2014 19:27:43 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers WRs Antonio Brown, Markus Wheaton and Lance Moore are expected to be the team's top three wideouts, with WR Martavis Bryant likely a lock to also make the roster. That leaves one job open, with WRs Justin Brown, Darrius Heyward-Bey and Derek Moye likely battling it out for the spot.

Fri, 21 Mar 2014 12:51:41 -0700
The Pittsburgh Steelers signed free-agent WR Lance Moore (Saints) to an undisclosed deal Friday, March 21.
Fantasy Tip: Moore figures to fill the slot receiver position as the No. 3 wideout behind Antonio Brown and Markus Wheaton in 2014. Moore was dinged up for most of last season, but he failed to make much noise when healthy in a very potent offense. Consider him a WR4 or 5 for fantasy football.
Sun, 16 Mar 2014 16:05:37 -0700
The Pittsburgh Steelers are scheduled to meet with free-agent WR Lance Moore (Saints) Tuesday, March 18.
Sun, 09 Mar 2014 15:40:27 -0700
The New Orleans Saints are targeting a ball-control offense in 2014. They are expected to use four-receiver sets with a satellite running back less often. This philosophy switch is probably what led to the release of RB Darren Sproles and WR Lance Moore.

Sun, 03 Nov 2013 15:34:44 -0800
New Orleans Saints WR Robert Meachem had four grabs for 93 yards in Week 9 against the New York Jets, and WR Lance Moore chipped in with six catches for 70 yards.
Fantasy Tip: Meachem and Moore were the top wideouts for QB Drew Brees with WR Marques Colston (knee) inactive. Neither is particularly attractive from a fantasy perspective for the long term, but they're worth a look in Week 10 if Colston is sidelined again.
Sun, 03 Nov 2013 08:29:03 -0800
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (knee) has been declared inactive for Week 9.
Fantasy Tip: With Colston out, Kenny Stills likely will receive an increase in his fantasy value since he will get more playing time. Lance Moore likely will also see more targets during the game. Both should be starting options for owners this week.
Fri, 01 Nov 2013 21:02:08 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (knee) is uncertain to play in the Week 9 game against the New York Jets. If he cannot go, the team still has good depth at the receiver position with WR Lance Moore healthy, and WR Kenny Stills emerging as a solid threat. WRs Robert Meachem and Nick Toon also provide good depth.
Fantasy Tip: If Colston is inactive, and TE Jimmy Graham (foot) is again limited, bump Moore up to a WR3 or flex play in standard leagues, and a low-end WR2 in points-per-receptions (PPR) fantasy formats. Stills would also be worth a look as a WR3/4 or flex play if Colston is sidelined.
Fri, 25 Oct 2013 15:08:30 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Lance Moore (hand) and FS Malcolm Jenkins (back) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 25, and are listed as probable for Week 8.
