Rockies | Troy Tulowitzki sitting out

Mon, 25 May 2015 08:16:10 -0700

Colorado Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki is not in the starting lineup Monday, May 25. SS Daniel Descalso will receive the start at shortstop.

Fantasy Tip: Tulowitzki ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) should return to the lineup in the near future. Descalso ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is hitting only .203 in limited playing time this season and is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore.

Rockies | Troy Tulowitzki hitting cleanup

Thu, 21 May 2015 09:31:35 -0700

Colorado Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki is hitting cleanup against Philadelphia Phillies SP Jerome Williams Thursday, May 21.

Fantasy Tip: Tulowitzki ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) is only hitting .224 (11-for-49) with no home runs and three RBI this month, and his lack of home run power is very concerning. He may go largely unused at FantasyScore because of his struggles, and a return to the cleanup spot could be what he needs to jump start him.

Rockies | Troy Tulowitzki returns to lineup

Mon, 18 May 2015 13:55:36 -0700

Colorado Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki (quadriceps) is batting third and playing shortstop against the Philadelphia Phillies Monday, May 18.

Fantasy Tip: Tulowitzki ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) missed the past two games, after he was lifted from the game Friday, May 15. FantasyScore players will want to view Tulowitzki as a high-risk, high-reward option Monday. He is struggling through May with just three runs, one RBI and a .237/.231/.289 slash line. Plus, he is expensive and opposing starter Cole Hamels is in a groove.

Colorado Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki (quadriceps) remains out of the lineup against the Los Angeles Dodgers Sunday, May 17. SS Daniel Descalso is starting in his place.

Fantasy Tip: Descalso ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is expected to receive most of the playing time at short while Tulowitzki is sidelined, although his injury is considered minor. He has no FantasyScore value.

Rockies | Troy Tulowitzki day-to-day

Sat, 16 May 2015 05:18:07 -0700

Colorado Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki (quadriceps) left the game Friday, May 15, because of tightness in his left quadriceps. "It just got tight when I was running down the line, so we felt it was better to play it safe and not turn this into a bigger problem," Tulowitzki said. "Threw some ice on it, and we'll see how I feel tomorrow." He is day-to-day with the injury, the Rockies announced.

Fantasy Tip: Daniel Descalso ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) filled in admirably with two hits and three RBI, however he is a steep downgrade from Tulowitzki ($5,600, 11.2% of cap). While the injury doesn't appear serious, fantasy owners will want to keep their fingers crossed. Descalso projects to receive the majority of starts for the duration of Tulowitzki's absence, but Descalso is nothing more than a desperation flier for FantasyScore contests.

Rockies | Troy Tulowitzki won't demand trade

Thu, 14 May 2015 17:14:39 -0700

Colorado Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki met with his agent Thursday, May 14, and decided he will not demand a trade. Tulowitzki said he needs to play better to end the losing.

Fantasy Tip: Tulowitzki ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) may need to take up pitching if he's serious about his vow. Tulo is hitting .303 through 113 plate appearances, but he has just two home runs. Tulowitzki is walking at a paltry rate of 1.8%, while striking out 22.1% of the time on the season. Small struggles at the plate aside, Tulo will be hard pressed to overcome the Rockies' team ERA of 5.33. Fantasy owners and daily players alike could certainly benefit as he tries.

Rockies | Troy Tulowitzki may ask for trade?

Tue, 12 May 2015 15:44:41 -0700

Colorado Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki will meet with his agent Thursday, May 14, to discuss whether to ask the Rockies for a trade, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post.

Fantasy Tip: Tulowitzki ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) has gotten off to another hot start with a .307 batting average, 16 runs scored and 10 RBI. A move away from the hitter-friendly Coors Field in Colorado would negatively affect Tulowitzki's power numbers, but a move to a better team could be a positive. Season-long owners will need to just hope for the best, while FantasyScore owners will need to wait to assess the situation before determining a true value.

Rockies | Troy Tulowitzki being rested

Fri, 24 Apr 2015 13:32:18 -0700

Colorado Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki is not in the starting lineup Friday, April 24. 2B Daniel Descalso is starting at shortstop and hitting eighth in the batting order against San Francisco Giants SP Chris Heston.

Fantasy Tip: Descalso ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is a light-hitting utility infielder that shouldn't even be considered at FantasyScore while taking hacks at hitter-friendly Coors Field tonight against a rookie hurler.

Rockies | Troy Tulowitzki solid in opener

Mon, 06 Apr 2015 15:08:10 -0700

Colorado Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki went 3-for-5 with one RBI and three runs scored against the Milwaukee Brewers Monday, April 6.

Fantasy Tip: Tulowitzki ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) is coming off a tough 2014 season when he dealt with injuries but looks to be ready to go this season. He should be one of the top options at shortstop most nights on FantasyScore.
