Brewers | Ryan Braun's foot not an issue

Sun, 26 Jun 2016 16:07:32 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun (foot) had an infield hit and triple in a 3-2 loss to the Washington Nationals Sunday, June 26, after being hit by a pitch on his left foot Saturday, June 25.

Fantasy Tip: It is safe to say that Braun's foot wasn't bothering him enough to slow him down, and he should be safe to deploy in all formats going forward.

Brewers | Ryan Braun returns to lineup Saturday

Sat, 25 Jun 2016 10:35:02 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun is back in the starting lineup against Washington Nationals SP Gio Gonzalez Saturday, June 25. In addition, INF/OF Hernan Perez will bat sixth and play right field, with OF Keon Broxton batting eighth and playing center field. OFs Ramon Flores and Kirk Nieuwenhuis are receiving the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Perez has cooled off after a hot start at the plate in 2016 and is nothing more than a desperation source of cap relief in daily fantasy games. Broxton is 8-for-57 (.140) with 31 strikeouts and should be avoided in all formats.

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun is not in the starting lineup against Washington Nationals SP Max Scherzer Friday, June 24. OF Alex Presley will start in left field and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Presley is hitting only .154 in limited playing time this month, so owners should avoid him in most fantasy leagues.

Brewers | Ryan Braun, Jonathan Lucroy not being shopped

Fri, 17 Jun 2016 16:24:02 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun and C Jonathan Lucroy are not being shopped in trades, according to owner Mark Attanasio. Lucroy leads the Brewers with a .310 batting average and Braun is hitting .306. "Much ado about nothing so far," Attanasio said about speculation that Braun or Lucroy, or both, would be traded before the Aug. 1 deadline.

Fantasy Tip: This could just be misdirection from the Brewers brass. Lucroy is a an elite fantasy catcher and would only gain value if he's dealt to a contending team. Braun has injury concerns but has played at a high level as a solid No. 1 fantasy outfielder. He, too, would benefit from a move out of Milwaukee.

Brewers | Ryan Braun, Chris Carter out Wednesday

Wed, 15 Jun 2016 10:21:48 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun and 1B Chris Carter are out of the lineup Wednesday, June 15, with OF Kirk Nieuwenhuis hitting cleanup and OF Ramon Flores hitting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: There's not much in the numbers that suggests Nieuwenhuis is a good play against Johnny Cueto today. Because he's hitting cleanup, though, he's a basement option you can't ignore in DFS. Flores has no fantasy prowess.

Giants | Ryan Braun a Giants topic

Mon, 13 Jun 2016 08:38:48 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun has been involved in preliminary trade discussions with the San Francisco Giants, but nothing is imminent.

Fantasy Tip: Braun's production took a nosedive with a .195-2-5 line in June, but he still has a .316-11-36 line on the year. He has had numerous injury issues, but he remains a stellar OF2.

Brewers | Ryan Braun belts a pair

Sat, 11 Jun 2016 17:56:36 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in a 7-3 win over New York Mets Saturday, June 11.

Fantasy Tip: Braun has been battling a neck injury and struggling at the plate, but the two homers could be a sign that he is feeling healthy again. Stick with him in season-long leagues, but wait for another big game or two before using him in DFS play.

Brewers | Ryan Braun collects 1,500th hit

Tue, 07 Jun 2016 21:25:41 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun recorded the 1,500th hit of his career on an infield single in the sixth inning on Tuesday, June 7. He finished the game 1-for-4 with a run scored.

Fantasy Tip: Bothered by back, wrist and neck issues, Braun has actually struggled quite a bit recently. Over his last dozen games, the former MVP is 11-for-44 (.250) with 2 HRs, 5 RBI, 3 runs and 3 stolen bases. It might be a good time to swoop in and see if you can add him below cost, though his durability makes it a risky play.

Brewers | Ryan Braun, Aaron Hill resting

Sun, 05 Jun 2016 08:25:12 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun and INF Aaron Hill are not in the starting lineup against Philadelphia Phillies SP Aaron Nola Sunday, June 5. INF Hernan Perez will play the hot corner and bat seventh, while OF Ramon Flores starts in left field and bats eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Perez is batting .306 with three home runs and 12 RBI in 72 at-bats this season, including a .364 mark versus righties, so he can be viewed as a productive source of cap relief in daily fantasy contests. Flores is nothing more than an inexpensive flier option in DFS.

Brewers | Ryan Braun back in action

Tue, 31 May 2016 13:54:10 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun (neck) is back in the starting lineup and is hitting third against St. Louis Cardinals SP Mike Leake Tuesday, May 31.

Fantasy Tip: Braun will be occasionally rested in order to remain fresh and healthy throughout the year. He's been on a tear in 2016, hitting .351/.424/.583 with nine home runs and 30 RBI, so he should be returned to starting lineups everywhere.
