Yankees | Jacoby Ellsbury back in lineup

Mon, 27 Apr 2015 13:04:38 -0700

Updating a previous report, New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury (hip) is batting leadoff and playing center field against the Tampa Bay Rays Monday, April 27.

Fantasy Tip: Consider Ellsbury ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) a high-risk, high-reward FantasyScore play Monday. It is unlikely he is 100%, but he has been hitting well of late. He has gone 10-for-32 over his last eight games with seven runs.

Yankees | Jacoby Ellsbury may miss more time

Mon, 27 Apr 2015 00:59:15 -0700

New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury (hip) may be out of the lineup for the team's next game Tuesday, April 28.

Fantasy Tip: Ellsbury ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) has been decent this season but Red Sox fans knew all too well he was prone to injuries. Yankee fans are finding that out too. Remove Ellsbury from your lineup for now and wait and see how he responds once back in New York's batting order.

Yankees | Chris Young could start Sunday

Sat, 25 Apr 2015 16:08:33 -0700

New York Yankees OF Chris Young could start in the outfield Sunday, April 26, against the New York Mets. Young may be required to fill in for OF Jacoby Ellsbury (hip) who left Saturday's game after feeling tightness in his hip. Manager Joe Girardi did say he hopes Ellsbury will be able to play Sunday.

Fantasy Tip: Young ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) is tearing it up at the plate to begin the 2015 season. A .235 hitter for his career, Young is currently hitting for a .357 batting average with four home runs in 48 plate appearances. If Young is able to draw another start, he'll be an excellent FantasyScore option.

Yankees | Jacoby Ellsbury left game

Sat, 25 Apr 2015 16:07:20 -0700

New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury (hip) left the game Saturday, April 25, against the New York Mets, after feeling tightness in his hip. Manager Joe Girardi said he hopes Ellsbury will be able to play Sunday, April 26.

Fantasy Tip: It's the first injury scare of the season for Ellsbury ($5,200, 10.4% of cap). Ellsbury has begun the season hitting .294, with one home run and four stolen bases. If Ellsbury has to miss any time, look for Chris Young ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) to get starts in the outfield.

Yankees | David Price has been owned by Yanks duo

Wed, 22 Apr 2015 15:13:03 -0700

New York Yankees C Brian McCann and OF Jacoby Ellsbury have gone 7-for-14 with three home runs and 16-for-49 with a home run, four doubles and two triples, respectively, against Detroit Tigers SP David Price. Price is pitching against the Yankees Wednesday, April 22.

Fantasy Tip: Over analyzing past batter vs. pitcher statistics can be costly, especially with Price looking dialed in to start the season. Price has allowed a single earned run through 22 1/3 innings thus far. It might not be the best night to overvalue Ellsbury ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) and McCann ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) based on their previous success against Price, especially at their cap hits.

Yankees | Jacoby Ellsbury on hot streak

Mon, 20 Apr 2015 10:23:34 -0700

New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury has reached base safely in 10 straight games after going 2-for-5 in the win over the Tampa Bay Rays Sunday, April 19.

Fantasy Tip: Ellsbury ($5,200, 10.4% of lineup) is hitting .286 (14-for-49) with no home runs and no RBI to begin the season, and he has two stolen bases. In his limited experience against Detroit Tigers starter Alfredo Simon, Ellsbury is 4-for-9 with a double and a triple, and he should be considered a strong play at FantasyScore, even if Simon has pitched well to begin the season.

Wed, 01 Apr 2015 07:47:30 -0700

New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury (oblique) has been penciled in to play for the big league squad Wednesday, April 1, according to manager Joe Girardi.

Fantasy Tip: Ellsbury ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) should have time to shake off the rust before opening day. He remains an early-round pick in standard leagues, however, waiting to use him in FantasyScore contests would be a prudent decision.
