Yankees | Jacoby Ellsbury back in

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 16:34:21 -0700

New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury (shoulder) is back in the starting lineup and is hitting leadoff against Texas Rangers SP Martin Perez Tuesday, July 28.

Fantasy Tip: Ellsbury ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) doesn't hit as well against lefties (.247/.326/.312) with one of his three home runs, but he still remains an attractive daily option in the leadoff position. Play him at your own risk tonight against the southpaw Perez.

Yankees | Jacoby Ellsbury out Monday

Mon, 27 Jul 2015 16:33:29 -0700

New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury (shoulder) is not in the starting lineup Monday, July 27. OF Chris Young is starting in left field and hitting second against Texas Rangers left-handed SP Matt Harrison.

Fantasy Tip: Young ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) is about one of the most attractive value plays tonight on FantasyScore, especially with a smaller slate of games. Young sports a slash line of .374/.430/.692 with a 1.122 OPS and six of his 11 home runs against left-handers this year. Despite a good outing in his last start, it'll be Harrison's third start this year.

Mon, 27 Jul 2015 15:29:06 -0700

New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury (shoulder) said his shoulder feels good but expected to receive a day off during the team's road trip.

Fantasy Tip: Ellsbury ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) is hitting only .213 this month but does have two home runs and nine RBI during that span. Ellsbury could be a solid starting option for owners on FantasyScore when he is in the lineup.

Yankees | Big game for Jacoby Ellsbury

Thu, 23 Jul 2015 19:13:31 -0700

New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury finished a triple shy of the cycle in a 9-3 win over the Baltimore Orioles Thursday, July 23, driving in four runs and scoring twice.

Fantasy Tip: Ellsbury ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) missed time earlier in the year, but when healthy, he has a combination of power and speed that can result in big games. He offers solid upside for a reasonable price at FantasyScore.

New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in a 5-3 loss to the Boston Red Sox.

Fantasy Tip: Ellsbury ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) had by far his best game since returning from the disabled list, and he looks to be back up to speed. He should make a solid mid-priced option at FantasyScore going forward.

Yankees | Jacoby Ellsbury back in leadoff spot

Wed, 08 Jul 2015 12:51:20 -0700

New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury (knee) was activated from the disabled list Wednesday, July 8, and he's back in the leadoff spot against Oakland Athletics SP Scott Kazmir.

Fantasy Tip: Ellsbury ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) is returning to a less-than-ideal daily matchup against Kazmir. Even though Ellsbury is hitting .304 (14-for-46) against lefties this year, he has no home runs and just two RBI against them. Hold off on using Ellsbury on FantasyScore for another day.

Yankees | Jacoby Ellsbury will return to leadoff

Tue, 07 Jul 2015 15:52:14 -0700

New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury (knee) went 2-for-13 in four rehab games with Class A Tampa and is likely to be activated from the disabled list in time for the game Wednesday, July 8. He will resume his old duties as the team's leadoff hitter and center fielder.

Fantasy Tip: Ellsbury ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) should be activated immediately and returned to starting lineups. In daily games, you may want to give him a day or two before trusting him. Chris Young ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) and Garrett Jones ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) are likely to form a platoon in right field with Carlos Beltran (oblique) on the DL. Young and Jones are acceptable matchup plays on FantasyScore, with Young particularly attractive against left-handed pitchers.

Chris Young ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) should continue to see regular at-bats in the outfield with Carlos Beltran now on the DL. Yankees | Jacoby Ellsbury not back Friday

Fri, 03 Jul 2015 12:21:23 -0700

New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury (knee) will not return Friday, July 3, as originally hoped. Ellsbury did not play in a rehab game Thursday, July 2, marking the second time in four minor-league games that he did not play.

Fantasy Tip: The team obviously believes Ellsbury ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) is not ready yet. Keep an eye out for when he is activated and maybe wait one or two games after that as he may be slow to recover.

Yankees | Jacoby Ellsbury ready to return

Thu, 02 Jul 2015 10:31:58 -0700

New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury (knee) will play one more rehab game Thursday, July 2, before the Yankees decide if he's ready to come off the disabled list. "He feels ready to go," general manager Brian Cashman said. "If it were 100% up to him, then he would be in the lineup on Friday."

Fantasy Tip: Ellsbury ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) should immediately be returned to all traditional lineups when he's back. On FantasyScore, you may want to give him a game or two before trusting him back in your lineups. Chris Young ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) is likely to go back to a fourth outfield role when Ellsbury returns, depending on the status of Carlos Beltran. Young can still be an effective value play against left-handed pitchers when he draws into the lineup, though.
