Braves | Atlanta resting two players

Mon, 27 Jun 2016 14:00:33 -0700

Atlanta Braves C A.J. Pierzynski and OF Emilio Bonifacio are not in the starting lineup against Cleveland Indians SP Trevor Bauer Monday, June 27. C Tyler Flowers will start in catcher and is batting sixth in the lineup, while OF Brandon Snyder will start in left field and is batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Flowers is hitting .211 with two home runs and three RBI this month but does have three hits in his last two games. Flowers will have value in two-catcher leagues, but owners in other leagues should find better options. Snyder has gone 4-for-15 since joining the Braves but is not a strong option.

Braves | Three Braves out Saturday

Sat, 18 Jun 2016 14:28:24 -0700

Atlanta Braves OF Mallex Smith, 3B Adonis Garcia (ankle) and 2B Jace Peterson are out of the lineup Saturday, June 18, with 2B Chase d'Arnaud leading off, OF Jeff Francoeur cleaning up and 3B Brandon Snyder hitting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: With lefty Steven Matz on the hill, d'Arnaud and Frenchy are low-end options as both have success against lefties. Snyder has just nine at-bats on the year and isn't worth consideration.

Braves | Gordon Beckham placed on DL

Thu, 02 Jun 2016 07:24:31 -0700

Atlanta Braves 2B Gordon Beckham (hamstring) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Thursday, June 2, because of a left hamstring strain. The team recalled INF Brandon Snyder from Class AAA Gwinnett.

Fantasy Tip: Daniel Castro and Chase d'Arnaud are candidates to start at shortstop while Beckham is sidelined. D'Arnaud has been more successful at the plate recently and should be a short-term option in NL-only leagues but can be avoided in most mixed leagues. Castro is not a strong option in any league.

Red Sox | 3B situation not producing results

Fri, 09 Aug 2013 13:45:19 -0700

Boston Red Sox 3B Brock Holt and 1B Brandon Snyder are a combined 5-for-33 (.151) with four runs, three RBIs and two extra-base hits since the team traded 3B Jose Iglesias to the Detroit Tigers. It's unclear if the team thinks SS Xander Bogaerts can make the transition to third base or if they'd prefer to bring 3B Will Middlebrooks back.

Fantasy Tip: Based on what the Red Sox have said, it seems more likely that they'll opt for Bogaerts over Middlebrooks, but there's no timetable for when that might happen. Speculate now and add Bogaerts in deep mixed leagues.
