Astros | Colby Rasmus gets the gate

Wed, 26 Aug 2015 19:49:34 -0700

Houston Astros OF Colby Rasmus was ejected in the fifth inning for arguing balls and strikes Wednesday, Aug. 26, against the New York Yankees.

Fantasy Tip: The bad news is that Rasmus ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) was run from the game, finishing 1-for-3 with two strikeouts. The good news is that it wasn't any sort of an injury. He remains a low-end FantasyScore option going forward.

Astros | Colby Rasmus sitting out

Sun, 23 Aug 2015 10:27:51 -0700

Houston Astros OF Colby Rasmus is not in the starting lineup against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw Sunday, Aug. 23. SS Marwin Gonzalez will start in left field and is batting sixth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Rasmus ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) likely is sitting out because the team is facing a left-handed pitcher. Gonzalez ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) has gone hitless in each of his last four games and is not the best option for owners on FantasyScore.

Astros | Colby Rasmus not starting against Rays

Wed, 19 Aug 2015 16:09:35 -0700

Houston Astros OF Colby Rasmus is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Aug. 19. OF Preston Tucker is starting in right field and hitting fifth against Tampa Bay Rays SP Nathan Karns.

Fantasy Tip: Tucker ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) doesn't make consistent contact but has plenty of home run power, and all 12 of his long balls this year have come off right-handers. He's worth a look as a value play that could easily outperform his price on FantasyScore tonight.

Astros | Colby Rasmus playing right field

Sat, 15 Aug 2015 12:46:26 -0700

Houston Astros OF Colby Rasmus is back in the starting lineup against Detroit Tigers SP Justin Verlander Saturday, Aug. 15, batting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Rasmus ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is 9-for-30 (.300) with two home runs and six RBIs during the month of August, meriting consideration as an inexpensive outfield option in FantasyScore. He is 2-for-8 with a double in his career against Verlander.

Astros | Carlos Gomez resting Wednesday

Wed, 12 Aug 2015 10:30:06 -0700

Houston Astros OF Carlos Gomez is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Aug. 12. OF Colby Rasmus is starting in center field and hitting fifth against San Francisco Giants SP Chris Heston.

Fantasy Tip: Rasmus ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) has a triple slash line of .239/.286/.473 against right-handed pitchers this year, but he does have 12 of his 14 home runs off them, and Heston has struggled of late. Rasmus is a sleeper pick on FantasyScore at an affordable price.

Astros | Jake Marisnick in right field

Sun, 02 Aug 2015 09:57:05 -0700

Houston Astros OF Jake Marisnick will start in right field and hit ninth in the order Sunday, Aug. 2, against the Arizona Diamondbacks and LHP Robbie Ray. OF Colby Rasmus isn't in the starting lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Marisnick ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) has two multi-hit games in his last six starts, with two extra-base hits in that time as well. Marisnick doesn't have much home run power, but he's a quality GPP play.

Astros | Colby Rasmus out Tuesday

Tue, 21 Jul 2015 14:36:52 -0700

Houston Astros OF Colby Rasmus is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, July 21, against the Boston Red Sox. L.J. Hoes is starting instead.

Fantasy Tip: Rasmus ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) has not faced Red Sox pitcher Brian Johnson, but Rasmus is hitting .182 in the last week and .230 against left-handed pitchers. It sounds like this is a normal day off, so remove Rasmus accordingly.

Astros | Alex Presley in lineup Saturday

Sat, 11 Jul 2015 11:40:20 -0700

Houston Astros OF Alex Presley will play left field and bat ninth against Tampa Bay Rays SP Jake Odorizzi Saturday, July 11. OF Colby Rasmus, who played left field Friday, July 10, will move back to center field and bat cleanup Saturday.

Fantasy Tip: Presley ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is 3-for-10 since being called up and hitless in two career at-bats versus Odorizzi. Unless you're really desperate for cap relief in FantasyScore, look elsewhere for a low-end outfield option.

Astros | Colby Rasmus sitting out

Sun, 05 Jul 2015 08:04:42 -0700

Houston Astros OF Colby Rasmus is not in the starting lineup against Boston Red Sox SP Eduardo Rodriguez Sunday, July 5. C Evan Gattis will start in left field and is batting fourth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Rasmus ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) may not be in the lineup because the team is facing a left-handed pitcher. Gattis ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) has picked up at least one hit in nine of his last 10 games and has eight RBI in that span. Owners on FantasyScore could consider using Gattis in their lineup.

Astros | Colby Rasmus returns to lineup

Sat, 04 Jul 2015 09:06:35 -0700

Houston Astros OF Colby Rasmus (arm) will start in center field against Boston Red Sox SP Clay Buchholz Saturday, July 4, and is batting sixth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Rasmus ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) has missed the last six games because of a skin infection. He has a solid month of June with a .268 batting average, two home runs and nine RBI. Owners may want to skip Rasmus for the time being since he has missed close to a week and his timing could be off initially.
