Sun, 07 Jun 2015 08:13:26 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Brantley is out of the starting lineup Sunday, June 7, against the Baltimore Orioles. OF David Murphy is starting in left field and batting third against RHP Bud Norris.

Fantasy Tip: Murphy ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) is hitting .330 against righties this season, with seven doubles and three home runs. With a spot high in the order, Murphy is a safe, cheap play on FantasyScore.

Fri, 05 Jun 2015 14:03:52 -0700

Cleveland Indians 1B Nick Swisher is not in the starting lineup Friday, June 5. OF Michael Brantley is serving as the designated hitter against Baltimore Orioles SP Chris Tillman.

Fantasy Tip: Brantley ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) should be a daily consideration for your lineups on FantasyScore. The Tribe outfielder has a slash line of .293/.390/.444 and OPS of .834 against righties in 2015.

Indians | Michael Brantley out against southpaw

Wed, 03 Jun 2015 13:52:30 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Brantley is not in the starting lineup against a left-handed pitcher Wednesday, June 3. OF Ryan Raburn is starting in left field and hitting cleanup against Kansas City Royals SP Jason Vargas.

Fantasy Tip: Raburn ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) has just three hits in 25 at-bats (.120) against Vargas in his career with five strikeouts, but he's been a notorious lefty killer in recent times. Despite the poor history, Raburn should still be considered a strong value pick based on the matchup.

Indians | Michael Bourn not starting Tuesday

Tue, 26 May 2015 11:36:38 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Bourn is not starting Tuesday, May 26. The Indians shifted OF Michael Brantley to center field for the night, and OF Ryan Raburn is in left.

Fantasy Tip: Bourn ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) is hitting better at the plate, and it looks like manager Terry Francona just shifted his lineup to get Bourn a night off. Raburn ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has one hit in his last 15 plate appearances and carries little fantasy value.

Indians | Michael Brantley back in lienup

Sun, 24 May 2015 16:52:25 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Brantley (back) returned to the lineup Sunday, May 24, after a one-game absence and went 1-for-4 with a double and a walk in a 5-2 win over the Cincinnati Reds.

Fantasy Tip: Brantley ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) has been enjoying a solid year despite dealing with a nagging back issue, but he has tailed off a bit recently. He hasn't had a multi-hit game since May 15, and he has scored just one run over the eight-game stretch. Look elsewhere at FantasyScore until his bat catches fire.

Indians | Nick Swisher sitting out

Fri, 22 May 2015 12:07:10 -0700

Cleveland Indians 1B Nick Swisher is not in the starting lineup Friday, May 22. OF Michael Brantley is serving as the designated hitter against Cincinnati Reds SP Mike Leake, and OF David Murphy is starting in left field and hitting fifth in the batting order.

Fantasy Tip: Brantley ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) should be a daily consideration for FantasyScore lineups. Murphy ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) is a fine value pick against right-handers, as he's hitting .316 (24-for-76) with three home runs and eight RBI against them in 2015. Leake also allows a .786 slugging percentage to lefty sticks this year.

Indians | Michael Brantley has hit streak

Sun, 10 May 2015 15:49:55 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Brantley extended his hitting streak to 10 games Sunday, May 10. Brantley is now 15-for-37 with three home runs and 10 RBIs during that span.

Fantasy Tip: Brantley ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) appears to be warming up following a slow start at the plate. His back may have dogged Brantley during that time, but for now Brantley is a good bet to start.

Indians | Michael Brantley hits first home run

Fri, 01 May 2015 19:20:54 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Brantley went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and two runs scored in a 9-4 win over the Toronto Blue Jays Friday, May 1. It was his first home run of the year.

Fantasy Tip: Brantley ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) is hitting .344 for the year, and his power stroke is starting to come around. Three of his eight extra-base hits have come in the last two games. Consider jumping on the Brantley bandwagon at FantasyScore.

Indians | Michael Brantley coming alive

Sat, 25 Apr 2015 16:16:11 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Brantley has hit .419 (13-for-31) with five RBI in eight games since returning from a back injury.

Fantasy Tip: We'd be more excited about Brantley ($5,400, 10.8% of your cap) if 10 of his 13 hits weren't singles. He's at a premium price, but his hot streak means he's on point with his stroke. He's a decent OF option on FantasyScore.

Indians | Michael Brantley finding his stroke

Fri, 24 Apr 2015 20:19:51 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Brantley went 3-for-4 with three singles, an RBI and a run scored in a 13-1 win over the Detroit Tigers Friday, April 24, and he is hitting .368 over his last five games.

Fantasy Tip: Brantley's ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) average in on the rise, but he still has just two extra-base hits on the year. The back injury that kept him sidelined earlier the year could be sapping his power a bit, and he is still a bit overpriced at FantasyScore for his current level of production.
