Mets | NY to be cautious with Travis d'Arnaud

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 09:44:38 -0700

New York Mets C Travis d'Arnaud (elbow) will return from the disabled list Friday, July 31, but manager Terry Collins said the team will be cautious with him upon his return. "He won't be a four (games) in a row guy," Collins said of d'Arnaud. "He might play two and a day off. It'll all depend on how he feels." C Kevin Plawecki is likely to remain on the major league roster with C Anthony Recker being sent down. d'Arnaud hasn't played since June 20 and was hitting .296 with four home runs and 17 RBI.

Fantasy Tip: d'Arnaud ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) has been a fine fantasy catching commodity for his bat, but he just hasn't been able to stay healthy enough to be viable for fake owners. Now that he's back, he could be a great addition to a team in need of catching, and he could be a great value play on FantasyScore, too, when he's in the lineup.

Mets | Anthony Recker draws into the lineup

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 15:07:01 -0700

New York Mets C Kevin Plawecki is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, July 29. C Anthony Recker is starting behind the plate and batting eighth against San Diego Padres SP Tyson Ross Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Plawecki ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) in all fantasy formats Wednesday. He remains a low-end catcher in all fantasy leagues, and he should be reserved for NL-only formats at this point. Recker ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is batting .130 this season, and for comparison sake, Mets SP Bartolo Colon is batting .139. Aim higher than Recker in FantasyScore contests Wednesday.

Mets | Travis d'Arnaud with a breather Friday

Fri, 12 Jun 2015 14:09:13 -0700

New York Mets C Travis d'Arnaud is not in the starting lineup Friday, June 12. C Anthony Recker is catching and hitting eighth against Atlanta Braves SP Alex Wood.

Fantasy Tip: Recker ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is strictly a deep sleeper pick tonight against Wood, but he does have some upside, as he has a line of .300/.417/.900 with both of his home runs against left-handed pitchers in 2015. Recker could help you save valuable loot elsewhere on your roster if you want to take the risk.

Mets | Kevin Plawecki scratched Tuesday

Tue, 09 Jun 2015 14:17:51 -0700

New York Mets C Kevin Plawecki (illness) was scratched from the lineup Tuesday, June 9, as he deals with more dizziness. C Anthony Recker is starting.

Fantasy Tip: Recker ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) profiles as a desperation sleeper play on FantasyScore. The backup backstop is batting only .156 (7-for-45) with two home runs and three RBI in 2015.

Mets | Anthony Recker still in lineup

Sat, 06 Jun 2015 15:10:21 -0700

New York Mets C Anthony Recker remains in the starting lineup Saturday, June 6, against the Arizona Diamondbacks. C Kevin Plawecki will come off the bench.

Fantasy Tip: Recker ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is just 2-for-22 in his last six games, and he should be ignored while making your FantasyScore lineups.

Mets | Anthony Recker draws into lineup

Fri, 05 Jun 2015 15:37:56 -0700

New York Mets C Anthony Recker is batting eighth and starting behind the plate against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Jeremy Hellickson Friday, June 5.

Fantasy Tip: Recker ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) should be viewed as nothing more than a desperation source of cap relief for FantasyScore players Friday. After all, he is slashing just .184/.311/.342 this season, and unless you're punting the catcher position, you should likely aim higher.

Wed, 03 Jun 2015 15:09:27 -0700

New York Mets C Anthony Recker is starting behind the plate and batting eighth against the San Diego Padres Wednesday, June 3.

Fantasy Tip: Recker ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is a desperation source of cap relief for FantasyScore players Wednesday. And since his two-home run game Thursday, May 14, Recker is 1-for-13, unless you're punting the catcher position, you should likely aim higher.

Mets | Kevin Plawecki on the bench

Sun, 31 May 2015 07:33:42 -0700

New York Mets C Kevin Plawecki is not in the starting lineup Sunday, May 31. C Anthony Recker will take his place in the starting lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Plawecki ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) has played each of the last four games and is likely receiving a day off. Recker ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has only five hits in his limited playing time this season and is not a great option on FantasyScore.

Mets | Kevin Plawecki sitting out

Sun, 24 May 2015 08:46:58 -0700

New York Mets C Kevin Plawecki is not in the starting lineup Sunday, May 24. C Anthony Recker will be the starting catcher for the Mets.

Fantasy Tip: Plawecki ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) probably is just receiving a day off and should return soon. Recker ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is hitting only .200 in 25 at-bats this season and is not a great option on FantasyScore.

Mets | Anthony Recker goes deep twice

Thu, 14 May 2015 15:09:41 -0700

New York Mets C Anthony Recker hit two solo home runs in a losing effort against the Chicago Cubs Thursday, May 14. Recker went 2-for-4 in the game with two strikeouts, and his average now sits at .238 on the season.

Fantasy Tip: With Kevin Plawecki slumping, perhaps Recker ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) will see more playing time in the near future. Even after his two-homer performance Thursday, though, he'll continue to be a low-end catcher play for daily gamers.
