The Kansas City Royals acquired 2B Jamey Carroll from the Minnesota Twins Sunday, Aug. 11, in exchange for a player to be named or cash considerations. Manager Ned Yost said Carroll will platoon at second base with 2B Chris Getz (knee) when he returns from the disabled list. Carroll also provides depth at third base and shortstop.
Fantasy Tip: Now that Miguel Tejada (calf) is also on the DL, Carroll should see the lion's share of playing time at the keystone until Getz returns. Carroll is handy as middle infield depth in AL-only leagues.
