Orioles | Hyun-soo Kim, Pedro Alvarez out

Fri, 24 Jun 2016 12:45:14 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Hyun-soo Kim and 3B Pedro Alvarez are not in the starting lineup against Tampa Bay Rays SP Matt Moore Friday, June 24. OF Nolan Reimold will start in left field and is batting eighth. OF Mark Trumbo will serve as the designated hitter, while OF Joey Rickard will start in right field and is batting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Rickard has 10 hits in his last 10 games and is hitting .344 this month. He should be a sleeper option in daily fantasy leagues because he plays well against left-handed pitchers. Reimold has struggled at the plate over the last few weeks and can be avoided.

Orioles | Three O's regulars sitting out

Thu, 16 Jun 2016 13:05:08 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Hyun-soo Kim, 1B Pedro Alvarez and 3B Ryan Flaherty are not in the starting lineup Thursday, June 16. OF Nolan Reimold is in left field and is hitting eighth, OF Joey Rickard is in right field and batting second and SS Paul Janish is at the hot corner and is hitting ninth against Boston Red Sox SP Eduardo Rodriguez.

Fantasy Tip: Reimold and Janish are desperation dart throws in daily formats because of their low lineup spots. Rickard had a hot start to the season and was a waiver wire consideration in cavernous mixed and AL-only leagues, but he's become more of a fourth outfielder of late and doesn't move the fantasy needle all that much because of his lack of power. Consider him a low-end deep sleeper in DFS tonight.

Orioles | Baltimore resting two players

Tue, 14 Jun 2016 13:08:54 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Hyun-soo Kim and 3B Pedro Alvarez are not in the starting lineup against Boston Red Sox SP David Price Tuesday, June 14. OF Mark Trumbo will serve as the designated hitter, while OF Joey Rickard will start in right field and is batting second. OF Nolan Reimold will start in left field and is batting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Rickard is hitting .291 against left-handed pitchers this season, while Reimold has a .250 batting average against lefties. Both should be decent sleeper options in daily fantasy leagues. Trumbo has been outstanding this season and should be a starter in all leagues.

Orioles | Baltimore sitting four starters

Sat, 11 Jun 2016 09:01:03 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Hyun-soo Kim, C Matt Wieters, 3B Pedro Alvarez and 2B Ryan Flaherty are not in the starting lineup against Toronto Blue Jays SP J.A. Happ Saturday, June 11. OF Mark Trumbo will serve as the designated hitter, while OF Joey Rickard will start in right field and is batting second. OF Nolan Reimold will start in left field and is batting seventh. C Francisco Pena will start at catcher and is batting eighth, while SS Paul Janish will start at third base and is batting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Rickard and Reimold have posted solid numbers against left-handed pitchers this season and can be decent options in daily fantasy leagues against Happ. Pena has gone 5-for-11 with one home run and two RBI since joining the Orioles and should also have some value in daily leagues. Janish has struggled at the plate this season and should be avoided.

Orioles | No Pedro Alvarez vs. Blue Jays

Fri, 10 Jun 2016 12:31:19 -0700

Baltimore Orioles DH Pedro Alvarez is not in the starting lineup Friday, June 10. OF Nolan Reimold draws into the lineup in right field and is batting eighth against Toronto Blue Jays SP Marco Estrada Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Alvarez has been better of late with a .293/.326/.634 slash line, four home runs and eight RBI through his past 12 games (10 starts). He has tremendous power upside, but he is also streaky and typically drags down your batting average. If you're chasing home runs, though, Alvarez might be worth an add. Reimold is 16-for-50 with a .955 OPS against right-handed hurlers this season and could be a potential flier for daily contests Friday. He remains nothing more than a cavernous mixed and AL-only option in seasonal setups.

Orioles | Chris Davis sitting vs. Royals

Wed, 08 Jun 2016 12:08:41 -0700

Baltimore Orioles 1B Chris Davis is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, June 8. OF Nolan Reimold draws into the lineup and is starting in right field and batting eighth against Kansas City Royals SP Edinson Volquez Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Davis has been struggling through his past 25 games with a .174/.324/.337 slash line with just three home runs and seven RBI. It appears to be a routine night off for the first baseman, and despite his recent slump, Davis remains a high-end source of power in all fantasy formats. Reimold has fared well when given a chance this season with a .291/.347/.500 line, and he should be viewed as a depth piece in cavernous mixed and AL-only leagues.

Orioles | Hyun-soo Kim out again

Mon, 06 Jun 2016 12:30:52 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Hyun-soo Kim is out of the starting lineup again Monday, June 6. OF Nolan Reimold is starting in left field and is batting seventh against Kansas City Royals SP Danny Duffy.

Fantasy Tip: The O's have faced back-to-back lefties, so that likely explains Kim sitting two straight games. The Korean lefty has gained regular playing time of late by hitting .377 with a homer and three RBI, and he's gained relevance in deep mixed and AL leagues if he continues to start against righties and hit in the two-hole. Reimold is hitting .286 against southpaws with a homer and four RBI and could be a successful value pick this evening in DFS.

Orioles | Four players sitting for Baltimore

Sun, 05 Jun 2016 09:53:58 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Hyun-soo Kim, C Matt Wieters, 3B Pedro Alvarez and 2B Ryan Flaherty are not in the starting lineup against New York Yankees SP CC Sabathia Sunday, June 5. OF Mark Trumbo will serve as the designated hitter, while OF Joey Rickard will start in right field and is batting second. OF Nolan Reimold will start in left field and is batting sixth. C Francisco Pena will start at catcher and is batting eighth, while SS Paul Janish will start at third base and is batting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Rickard and Reimold have received solid playing time against left-handed pitchers this season and have posted solid numbers. Both players can be sleeper options in daily fantasy leagues. Pena and Janish are not strong fantasy players and should be avoided.

Orioles | Nolan Reimold in two-hole

Tue, 31 May 2016 11:42:29 -0700

Baltimore Orioles OF Nolan Reimold is starting in left field and is hitting second against Boston Red Sox SP Eduardo Rodriguez Tuesday, May 31.

Fantasy Tip: Reimold has lost playing time recently to the surging Hyun-soo Kim, but he draws a favorable lineup spot against a young pitcher returning from the DL Tuesday. The right-handed hitter is batting .290 (9-for-31) against lefties this year, too, which could make him attractive as a sleeper selection in DFS.

Orioles | Baltimore resting three players

Mon, 30 May 2016 08:48:49 -0700

Baltimore Orioles C Matt Wieters, 3B Pedro Alvarez and OF Joey Rickard are not in the starting lineup against Boston Red Sox SP Steven Wright Monday, May 30. OF Nolan Reimold will start in right field and is batting seventh in the lineup. 2B Ryan Flaherty will start at third base and is batting eighth, while C Caleb Joseph will start at catcher and is batting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Reimold is hitting only .167 over the last seven days but does have a .297 batting average this season. He should still have some fantasy value and can be an option for desperate owners in daily fantasy leagues. Flaherty and Joseph should be avoided in all fantasy leagues because they have struggled at the plate.
