White Sox | Melky Cabrera remains sidelined

Thu, 30 Jun 2016 17:54:52 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Melky Cabrera (wrist) is expected to miss at least one more game due to a strained right wrist.

Fantasy Tip: Cabrera hit .321 with four home runs and 15 RBI in 81 at-bats during the month of June. However, daily fantasy players should wait until he plays in at least one full game without experiencing any setbacks before using him again.

White Sox | Tyler Saladino draws a start

Wed, 29 Jun 2016 14:39:33 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Tyler Saladino is starting at third base and is hitting ninth against Minnesota Twins SP Ricky Nolasco Wednesday, June 29. 3B Todd Frazier moves over to first base, 1B Jose Abreu is serving as the designated hitter and OF Avisail Garcia is in left field with OF Melky Cabrera (wrist) out.

Fantasy Tip: With Melky missing at least a few days, Saladino could sub in regularly in the short term. He's hitting just .250 on the year, though, and has just eight homers in the last two seasons, so his offensive upside is low. Look elsewhere tonight for a DFS sleeper at shortstop.

White Sox | Melky Cabrera to miss a few games

Wed, 29 Jun 2016 14:33:59 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Melky Cabrera (wrist) will be out three or four days due to a wrist sprain.

Fantasy Tip: Cabrera's been terrific in June, hitting .321/.333/.593 in 81 at-bats, but it looks like those will be his final numbers for the month. While he's out of the lineup, this should ensure that Avisail Garcia and J.B. Shuck each get regular playing time. However, both are dicey plays in daily leagues.

Chicago White Sox OF Melky Cabrera (wrist) left the game Tuesday, June 28, against the Minnesota Twins due to a sore left wrist. He is considered day to day.

Fantasy Tip: Avoid Cabrera in all fantasy leagues and DFS play until he can officially return and prove his health in a full game without any setbacks.

White Sox | Melky Cabrera enjoys big night

Wed, 22 Jun 2016 22:19:28 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Melky Cabrera went 4-for-5 with a double, a home run and four RBI against the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday, June 22.

Fantasy Tip: Cabrera has been his usual solid self in 2016, posting a .317-3-13 line in June and .291-7-37 for the year. He's quality depth in standard leagues and an everyday option in deeper mixed and AL-only setups.

White Sox | Melky Cabrera injures wrist in loss

Sat, 18 Jun 2016 19:57:40 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Melky Cabrera (wrist) left the game Saturday, June 18, against the Cleveland Indians after he rolled on his wrist making a play defensively. X-rays were negative and he is considered day to day.

Fantasy Tip: If he is able to return to the starting lineup Sunday, he is a safe play for fantasy owners in weekly leagues going into Monday's play. If he is unable to play, he is a risky fantasy option. DFS players will want to avoid him until he can officially return and prove his health in a full game without any setbacks.

White Sox | Melky Cabrera back from leave

Tue, 07 Jun 2016 14:06:41 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Melky Cabrera was reinstated from the Family Emergency Leave List on Tuesday, June 7. OF Jason Coats was optioned to Class AAA Charlotte in a corresponding roster move, and OF Jerry Sands was designated for assignment.

Fantasy Tip: Coats had a memorable debut, if only because of a near-concussion he suffered over the weekend. Cabrera should be activated accordingly in your fantasy lineups, as he should be back in the White Sox lineup for the foreseeable future.

White Sox | Melky Cabrera sidelined

Fri, 03 Jun 2016 11:47:52 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Melky Cabrera (personal) was placed on the family emergency leave list. The club recalled RP Tommy Kahnle from Class AAA Charlotte in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: The Melk Man is having a very unspectacular season thus far in his second year with the White Sox, though he hasn't necessarily been awful. In any event, he'll probably miss at least a few games, which could pave the way for J.B Shuck or Jerry Sands to pick up some extra at-bats. Both would be dart throws in daily games, however.

White Sox | Melky Cabrera hits grand slam

Sat, 28 May 2016 05:09:09 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Melky Cabrera went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI against the Kansas City Royals Friday, May 27.

Fantasy Tip: Cabrera has hit a home run in each of the last two games and has six RBI during that span. He is hitting .309 this month and should be a fine starting option in most leagues.

White Sox | Melky Cabrera in two-hole

Thu, 26 May 2016 14:44:05 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Melky Cabrera is hitting second against Kansas City Royals SP Danny Duffy Thursday, May 26. As a result, SS Jimmy Rollins moves down to seventh in the lineup against a left-hander.

Fantasy Tip: The Melk Man continues to put the ball in play often for a high average (.294). However, he has no home runs against left-handers from the right side and has less power in that setup. He's still not a bad option for your lineups, but temper expectations tonight. Rollins is a very low-end shortstop option in daily formats against the southpaw.
