Rockies | Mark Reynolds back after a day off

Sun, 26 Jun 2016 12:23:34 -0700

Colorado Rockies 1B Mark Reynolds is in the lineup Sunday, June 26, against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Patrick Corbin and will hit seventh. OF Ryan Raburn is in left and will bat sixth, while C Nick Hundley resumes his duties behind the plate after a rest day and will hit eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Reynolds, who drew a walk and scored a run as a pinch hitter in Saturday's victory, has hits in each of his last five starts (8-for-23) and homered three times over that stretch. However, he's a weak bet against left-handers this season (.260, no homers and six RBI in 73 at-bats). Raburn has always performed well against southpaws, but there are better options during today's full slate of games. Hundley is riding a five-game hitting streak and a serviceable option in all formats.

Rockies | Carlos Gonzalez, Trevor Story return

Sat, 25 Jun 2016 11:57:28 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez and SS Trevor Story are back in the starting lineup against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Shelby Miller Saturday, June 25. In addition, INF Daniel Descalso will bat sixth and play first base, while C Tony Wolters starts behind the plate and bats eighth. 1B Mark Reynolds and C Nick Hundley are receiving the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Gonzalez is batting .317 with five homers and 17 RBI through 79 June at-bats, while Story is hitting .282 with four homers and 13 RBI this month. Both players should be viewed as viable fantasy options this afternoon. Wolters is hitless in his last 12 at-bats and should be avoided in all formats, while Descalso is nothing more than an inexpensive flier option.

Rockies | COL makes several lineup changes

Sun, 19 Jun 2016 08:30:44 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Ryan Raburn, 1B Mark Reynolds and C Nick Hundley are not in the starting lineup against Miami Marlins SP Tom Koehler Sunday, June 19. INF Daniel Descalso will bat sixth and play first base, OF Brandon Barnes will bat seventh and play left field and C Tony Wolters will start behind the plate and hit eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Descalso is 13-for-32 (.406) with a double, triple, home run and 11 RBI through 32 at-bats this season and is an excellent source of salary cap relief in DFS. Wolters is worth considering as an inexpensive flier behind the plate but Barnes should be avoided in all fantasy formats today.

Rockies | Nick Hundley resting Wednesday

Wed, 15 Jun 2016 09:59:32 -0700

Colorado Rockies C Nick Hundley is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, June 15. C Tony Wolters is behind the plate and is batting eighth against New York Yankees SP Ivan Nova.

Fantasy Tip: It'll be Wolter's first start since coming off the 7-day concussion DL yesterday. It's a nice matchup at home, but Wolters is barely over the Mendoza Line this year and has no home runs on the season. He's a desperation low-end catching pick for DFS lineups this afternoon.

Rockies | Nick Hundley resting Saturday

Sat, 11 Jun 2016 11:16:06 -0700

Colorado Rockies C Nick Hundley is not in the starting lineup against San Diego Padres SP Erik Johnson Saturday, June 11. C Dustin Garneau will start behind the plate and bat eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Garneau is batting .246 with a home run and five RBI in 57 at-bats this year and should be viewed as nothing more than an inexpensive flier in daily fantasy games. Look for Hundley to return to the lineup Sunday, June 12.

Rockies | Charlie Blackmon, Nick Hundley out

Tue, 07 Jun 2016 15:57:54 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Charlie Blackmon and C Nick Hundley are not in the starting lineup against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Julio Urias Tuesday, June 7. OF Gerardo Parra will start in center field, while OF Ryan Raburn will start in left field and is batting second. C Dustin Garneau will start at catcher and is batting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Both Raburn and Garneau have struggled at the plate over the last seven days, but Raburn has had success against left-handed pitchers and is a decent option in daily fantasy leagues. Owners can avoid Garneau in all leagues.

Rockies | Nick Hundley activated, starting

Fri, 03 Jun 2016 16:15:19 -0700

Colorado Rockies C Nick Hundley (oblique) was activated from the disabled list Friday, June 3, and he's catching and hitting eighth against San Diego Padres SP Drew Pomeranz Friday. C Tony Wolters (concussion) was placed on the 7-day concussion DL in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: Hundley returns as the Rockies' primary catcher and he's not a bad option as a No. 2 catcher in two-catcher setups. He has excelled since landing at Coors Field and was hitting .273 with two home runs and seven RBI in 44 at-bats before landing on the DL.

Rockies | Nick Hundley ready for game action

Fri, 03 Jun 2016 02:37:26 -0700

Colorado Rockies C Nick Hundley (oblique) was scheduled to catch seven innings in the first game of a doubleheader for Class AAA Albuquerque and serve as the designated hitter in the second game Thursday, June 2.

Fantasy Tip: Hundley has put up solid numbers when healthy for the Rockies, and he should be a viable starting option in deeper mixed leagues when he returns. If you are interested, it is about time to scoop him up if he is available.

Rockies | Nick Hundley swinging a bat

Wed, 25 May 2016 17:00:26 -0700

Colorado Rockies C Nick Hundley (oblique) hit in the batting cages for the first time Wednesday, May 25. He will take regular batting practice for the next two days and then be re-examined when the Rockies go back home Friday, May 27. Hundley could go on a rehab assignment next week.

Fantasy Tip: Oblique injuries are tricky, so Hundley won't be rushed back by Colorado. Hundley has found a home in Colorado, though, and he'll be a serviceable low-end catcher in mixed leagues when he returns if you're looking for help. Dustin Garneau and Tony Wolters have been splitting duties behind the plate in the meantime, but neither backstop is very attractive outside of two-catcher and deep NL-only leagues.

Rockies | Nick Hundley catches bullpen session

Thu, 19 May 2016 13:12:13 -0700

Colorado Rockies C Nick Hundley (oblique) caught a bullpen session Thursday, May 19, for the first time since suffering a left oblique injury Thursday, May 5.

Fantasy Tip: Continue to stash Hundley in deep mixed, two-catcher and NL-only leagues. Tony Wolters and Dustin Garneau have been splitting time behind the plate with Hundley out. Wolters has seen the lion's share of starts, and he is a low-end option in two-catcher and NL-only formats.
