Panthers | Greg Olsen at full health |
Tue, 17 Apr 2018 12:30:41 -0700
Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) said his injured foot is completely healed and that his focus this offseason is securing a contract extension before the regular season begins. If an extension is not achieved then Olsen said broadcasting for Monday Night Football would be a viable option.
Fantasy Tip: Olsen is one of the best tight ends in the NFL when he's 100%. Before missing seven games last year, he had averaged 1,061.6 yards and 5.3 touchdowns in the previous three years. Assuming he plays, he should be one of the first three to five tight ends drafted.

Panthers | Greg Olsen shines in playoff loss |
Sun, 07 Jan 2018 17:14:38 -0800
Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen posted eight receptions for 107 yards and a touchdown on 12 targets in the NFC Wild Card Game on Sunday, Jan. 7, against the New Orleans Saints.
Fantasy Tip: Olsen missed the last game down in the Big Easy, as he was just getting over a foot injury and the team didn't want to risk him on the artificial surface. He was back, and had a strong game, showing he has plenty left in the tank. The tight end's three-year streak of 1,000 receiving yards came to an end because of his lengthy injury, but he remains a legit TE1 in fantasy heading into 2018.

Panthers | Greg Olsen listed as questionable |
Fri, 08 Dec 2017 10:31:38 -0800
Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) is listed as questionable for Week 14 against the Minnesota Vikings.
Fantasy Tip: Olsen was held out last week as the Panthers opted not to push his foot injury on the artificial surface of the Superdome with the first of three straight home games on natural grass beginning this weekend. Olsen is going to be a risky option to a difficult matchup and the likelihood he could suffer an in-game setback, but with Devin Funchess drawing shadow coverage from Xavier Rhodes and the lack of good fantasy options at tight end, most owners likely have to start him and hope for the best.

Panthers | Greg Olsen won't be limited Sunday |
Wed, 06 Dec 2017 21:12:37 -0800
Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) will not be on a "pitch count" against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 14, according to head coach Ron Rivera.
Fantasy Tip: Olson had a snap restriction in Week 12, though that didn't much matter since he aggravated the injury. His return should be a big boost for the offense, even if a tough matchup with the Vikings dampens his fantasy outlook. It'd be tempting to roll him out there this Sunday despite the potential downside.

Panthers | Greg Olsen practices fully |
Wed, 06 Dec 2017 11:22:52 -0800
Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Dec. 6.
Fantasy Tip: There were reports Carolina did not want to push Olsen in Week 13 against the New Orleans Saints because the Superdome isn't a natural grass field, and this news would seem to suggest it played a role in the team's thinking. With three straight games at home beginning this week, Olsen should be in good shape in that regard as long as his foot can hold up. He's not a recommended play in fantasy this week, however, as the Minnesota Vikings are playing very good defense of late.

Panthers | Greg Olsen expected to sit out Week 13 |
Sun, 03 Dec 2017 05:28:29 -0800
Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) is expected to sit out Week 13's game against the New Orleans Saints, although the injury is not believed to be a long-term issue, according to multiple sources.
Fantasy Tip: X-rays taken several days ago on Olsen's foot came back negative and he was able to practice on a limited basis but he is still experiencing soreness. One factor that may cause the Panthers to deactivate Olsen is the fact that this game will be played on artificial turf but the following three contests will be on natural grass surfaces. Ed Dickson is expected to get the starting nod this afternoon and should be viewed as a midrange TE2 in most fantasy formats.

Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) is listed as questionable to face the New Orleans Saints in Week 13, but head coach Ron Rivera said he is optimistic that Olsen will be able to play.
Fantasy Tip: Olsen returned from an eight-game absence last week, only to aggravate the injury. Even if he does suit up, the chance he won't be able to play the entire game makes him a risky start.

Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) did not practice Friday, Dec. 1, and he is officially listed as questionable for the Week 13 game with the New Orleans Saints.
Fantasy Tip: Olsen returned from a lengthy absence last week, but aggravated his foot injury on the artificial surface at MetLife Stadium against the Jets. Unfortunately for Olsen, the Saints also play on an artificial surface, so he is a very risky fantasy play this week.

Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) is out of practice Thursday, Nov. 30.
Fantasy Tip: It's possible he could practice Friday and be ready to face the New Orleans Saints, but it would make sense for the team to treat this very conservatively. Even if he plays, he's likely to be limited in some capacity. Find a plug-and-play option this week.

Panthers | Greg Olsen sidelined Wednesday |
Wed, 29 Nov 2017 14:01:49 -0800
Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 29.
Fantasy Tip: Olsen clearly hasn't fully recovered yet and is still a little rusty from his extended hiatus. If he keeps missing practice then he could very well be headed for a doubtful status. Have Ed Dickson on ice in case Olsen doesn't improve.

Mon, 27 Nov 2017 12:13:06 -0800

Panthers | Greg Olsen might be ready in Week 13 |
Sun, 26 Nov 2017 18:21:18 -0800
Updating a previous report, Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) was pulled in the third quarter of the Week 12 game against the New York Jets after experiencing soreness in his surgically repaired right foot. The artificial surface at Met Life Stadium might have played a part in the soreness. "It got a little sore there. Went back out, tried to play a little bit and then we just thought it'd be best to live to play another day," Olsen said Sunday, Nov. 26.
Fantasy Tip: Unfortunately for Olsen and his fantasy owners the Panthers will be on another artificial surface in Week 13 in New Orleans before three straight home outings on grass from Week 14 through Week 16.

Sun, 26 Nov 2017 12:30:57 -0800
Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) left the team's Week 12 game because of a foot injury and will not return.
Fantasy Tip: It is not known if Olsen's injury is related to the one that sent him to the Reserve/Injured list, so owners should look for an update on his status. Olsen is a must-start option when he is healthy, but owners will need other options available in case this injury keep him sidelined for an extended period of time.

Panthers | Greg Olsen to see limited snaps |
Sun, 26 Nov 2017 07:08:45 -0800
Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen will ideally be involved in half of the team's offensive snaps for Week 12's game versus the New York Jets, according to head coach Ron Rivera.
Fantasy Tip: Olsen will be active for the first time since Week 2 but makes a risky fantasy option this afternoon due to the limited number of snaps. He should only be started this week by owners desperate for help at the tight end position.
