Cardinals | Aledmys Diaz not playing

Tue, 28 Jun 2016 14:04:49 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals SS Aledmys Diaz (eye) is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, June 28. SS Greg Garcia is starting at shortstop and is batting ninth against Kansas City Royals SP Yordano Ventura. Also, 1B Brandon Moss is starting in left field and is hitting second with OF Matt Holliday serving as the designated hitter in an American League park.

Fantasy Tip: Garcia carries little fantasy value despite his .415/.547/.610 slash line in 41 at-bats because of very limited playing time. Garcia also has very little power to speak of and is one to avoid in DFS because he's hitting ninth. All 16 of Moss' homers have come against righties and the two-hole makes him more attractive to daily gamers tonight.

Cardinals | Matt Adams, Kolten Wong out

Mon, 27 Jun 2016 14:04:44 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals 1B Matt Adams and 2B Kolten Wong are not in the starting lineup against Kansas City Royals left-handed SP Danny Duffy Monday, June 27. 2B Jedd Gyorko is starting at first base and is hitting eighth, while 1B Brandon Moss starts in left field and is batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Gyorko has hit .229 in limited playing time this year. He has power potential with seven home runs on the year and his most recent long ball coming yesterday, but he's an all-or-nothing daily play with limited upside. Moss has 16 bombs on the year but is batting just .208 with zero home runs against southpaws on the season. He's one to avoid.

Sat, 25 Jun 2016 15:11:18 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals 1B Matt Adams (back) is out of the lineup Saturday, June 25, with 1B Brandon Moss hitting fifth.

Fantasy Tip: Moss is hitting .365 with seven homers this month and is a good upper-middle start against Nathan Karns.

Cardinals | Matt Holliday will be DH

Fri, 24 Jun 2016 16:51:48 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Matt Holliday will serve as the designated hitter against Seattle Mariners SP Wade LeBlanc Friday, June 24. 1B Brandon Moss will start in left field, while 1B Matt Adams will start at first base and is batting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Adams has only one hit over the last six games but should still have some value in deeper mixed leagues. Holliday and Moss should be starter in most fantasy leagues.

Cardinals | Matt Adams not starting

Tue, 21 Jun 2016 15:39:45 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals 1B Matt Adams is not in the starting lineup against Chicago Cubs SP Jason Hammel Tuesday, June 21. 1B Brandon Moss will start at first base and is batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Moss is hitting .357 with seven home runs and 11 RBI this month and has at least one hit in eight of his last 10 games. Moss should be an attractive starting candidate in all leagues because of his recent success at the plate.

Cardinals | Matt Adams, Yadier Molina out

Sun, 19 Jun 2016 10:29:52 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals 1B Matt Adams and C Yadier Molina are not in the starting lineup against Texas Rangers SP Martin Perez Sunday, June 19. OF Brandon Moss will start at first base and is batting sixth, while C Eric Fryer will start at catcher and is batting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Moss has at least one hit in seven of his last eight games and has five multi-hit games during that span. He should be a solid starting candidate in most fantasy leagues. Fryer is hitting .414 in limited playing time this season, but owners may be able to find better options to use.

Cardinals | Brandon Moss cranks 15th homer

Tue, 14 Jun 2016 22:16:31 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals 1B Brandon Moss went 1-for-4 with his 15th home run of the season Tuesday, June 14, against the Houston Astros. The long ball produced his only run scored and RBI of the ballgame.

Fantasy Tip: Moss should be considered a must-own player right now with how hot he's been at the plate. In fact, the 32-year-old now has six homers in June, and the month isn't even halfway over yet. He's getting regular playing time right now in the Cardinals lineup, and that should also be the case regarding his presence on fantasy rosters.

Cardinals | Two players sitting for St. Louis

Tue, 14 Jun 2016 14:35:17 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals SS Aledmys Diaz and OF Randal Grichuk are not in the starting lineup against Houston Astros SP Doug Fister Tuesday, June 14. SS Greg Garcia will start at shortstop and is batting eighth. OF Stephen Piscotty will start in center field, while OF Brandon Moss will start in right field and is batting second.

Fantasy Tip: Garcia has received limited playing time over the last few weeks and is not a great fantasy option at this point. Moss has been on fire recently with a .464 average, five home runs and nine RBI in June. He should be starting in all daily fantasy leagues and also has value in deeper mixed leagues.

Cardinals | Matt Carpenter, Matt Adams out

Sun, 12 Jun 2016 12:51:06 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals 2B Matt Carpenter and 1B Matt Adams are not in the starting lineup against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Jon Niese Sunday, June 12. 2B Jedd Gyorko will start at second base and is batting first in the lineup. 1B Brandon Moss will start at first base and is batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Gyorko is batting only .157 so far this month and has only three RBI in the past 12 games. Owners should be able to find better options to use. Moss is batting .421 with three home runs and six RBI over the last seven days and is a solid option for fantasy owners.

Cardinals | Two more hits for Brandon Moss

Sat, 11 Jun 2016 20:08:03 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals 1B Brandon Moss went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in a 5-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates Saturday, June 11, and he has five straight multi-hit games.

Fantasy Tip: Moss should already be owned in NL-only formats because of his power potential, but he is also worth a look in DFS games until his bat cools off.
