Saints | C.J. Spiller a good fit in New Orleans?

Sun, 28 Jun 2015 17:52:44 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB C.J. Spiller has a perfect skill-set for head coach Sean Payton's system, which relies on getting the ball to players in space, according Chris Wesseling of NFL.com. Wesseling believes Spiller is significantly more talented than RB Reggie Bush and RB Darren Sproles, who both thrived in Payton's system.

Fantasy Tip: Pass-catching backs like Spiller have enjoyed a lot of success in Payton's system. He has a good chance to slide into RB2 territory in PPR formats, and he should make a solid flex option in standard leagues.

49ers | Reggie Bush likes the offense

Sun, 31 May 2015 20:22:38 -0700

San Francisco 49ers RB Reggie Bush said he has been used in a variety of ways on offense, and he added that he likes what he has seen out of offensive coordinator Geep Chryst.

Fantasy Tip: Bush certainly has the versatility to wear many hats within the offense, but it remains to be seen exactly what role he will have and how many touches he will receive. He should be a solid RB3 in PPR leagues, but he may be more of a bench option in traditional formats.

49ers | Reggie Bush wants to return punts

Thu, 21 May 2015 16:29:10 -0700

San Francisco 49ers RB Reggie Bush has expressed his desire to the San Francisco 49ers coaching staff to return punts this season. "I told the coaches I wanted to return punts again. And they were excited about it," Bush said. "We're still working at it, still chipping away. And we're looking forward to being and all-around great special teams."

Fantasy Tip: Whether the role as a punt returner will decrease Bush's role in the 49ers' backfield remains to be seen. He'll have more value in leagues that reward returns. He has RB3 potential in point-per-reception leagues.

49ers | Carlos Hyde expected to start

Wed, 13 May 2015 22:49:07 -0700

San Francisco 49ers RB Carlos Hyde is the expected starter heading into the regular season while RBs Reggie Bush, Kendall Hunter and rookie Mike Davis all compete for touches as well.

Fantasy Tip: Hyde will get first crack at the carries and if fantasy drafts were today, he would be the first San Francisco back off the board. The San Francisco RB situation is crowded, though, and it could be similar to a New England situation from last year where one guy is a stud one week and non-existent the next. Be careful to have plenty of depth at the position if you draft 49ers.

49ers | Colin Kaepernick helped by Reggie Bush

Wed, 13 May 2015 13:25:43 -0700

San Francisco 49ers RB Reggie Bush has been an asset to QB Colin Kaepernick this offseason, according to general manager Trent Baalke. Baalke said Bush and Kaepernick have developed a rapport and that Bush's downfield speed gives Kaepernick more room to work with.

Fantasy Tip: Carlos Hyde is still expected to start in the 49ers' backfield, but Bush should be the primary passing-down running back. Head coach Jim Tomsula has already lauded Bush as an every-down back, so Bush should still see his fair share of playing time. Hyde is in the RB2 conversation while Bush shouldn't be considered more than a RB3. With Torrey Smith, Vernon Davis and Reggie Bush as weapons, not to mention his running ability, Kaepernick should be in the QB1 conversation heading into 2015.

Saints | NO considered Reggie Bush

Thu, 26 Mar 2015 10:08:52 -0700

San Francisco 49ers RB Reggie Bush was considered by the New Orleans Saints before he agreed with the Niners, according to Saints head coach Sean Payton.

Fantasy Tip: Be careful not to overvalue Bush in 2015 drafts. Remember, he'll be splitting time with Carlos Hyde in San Fran, and Hyde is expected to be the main back, with Bush contributing mostly in passing situations. Consider Bush as fantasy depth in point-per-reception formats.

49ers | Jim Tomsula high on Reggie Bush

Thu, 26 Mar 2015 10:04:50 -0700

San Francisco 49ers RB Reggie Bush still has the ability to be an every-down back, according to head coach Jim Tomsula. Tomsula said Bush is not a gadget player but does have the skill set to help on third downs.

Fantasy Tip: Carlos Hyde is expected to enter training camp as the leading candidate for the starting job, but Bush should have a solid role in the offense. Bush likely will have more value in point-per-reception leagues but could be a middle- to late-round pick in most leagues.

Fri, 20 Mar 2015 09:48:43 -0700

San Francisco 49ers RB Reggie Bush's one-year deal is worth $2.2 million with $1 million guaranteed. He'll receive a $500,000 signing bonus. Of his $1.6 million base, $500,000 is guaranteed, and he'll also have a $100,000 workout bonus.

49ers | Reggie Bush to 49ers official

Wed, 18 Mar 2015 15:40:10 -0700

San Francisco 49ers RB Reggie Bush finalized his one-year deal with the team Wednesday, March 18. Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: Carlos Hyde is expected to be the primary runner in San Francisco in the absence of Frank Gore, but Bush should factor in on passing downs as a pass catcher out of the backfield, much like he did with the Detroit Lions. The Niners will have a much different look on offense, but Bush could still have RB2 value in point-per-reception formats.

49ers | Reggie Bush heading to 49ers

Sat, 14 Mar 2015 11:12:30 -0700

Free-agent RB Reggie Bush (Lions) has reached an agreement with the San Francisco 49ers Saturday, March 14, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Carlos Hyde should still be the main running back to own in 2015, but Bush should see the majority of work in the passing game out of the backfield. He has RB2 potential in point-per-reception scoring leagues.

Patriots | No offer for Reggie Bush from Patriots

Fri, 13 Mar 2015 17:58:36 -0700

Free-agent RB Reggie Bush left his meeting with the New England Patriots without a contract offer, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Bush's fantasy value depends largely on where he ends up signing, but his pass-catching ability will inflate his value in PPR formats regardless of where he lands.

Patriots | Reggie Bush meeting with Pats

Fri, 13 Mar 2015 11:10:49 -0700

Free-agent RB Reggie Bush (Lions) is scheduled to meet with the New England Patriots Friday, March 13, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Bush likely would have a role similar to the one Shane Vereen had with the Patriots. Bush probably would be more involved in the passing game, which would help his value in point-per-reception leagues. Bush may be a middle-round option in fantasy drafts if he joins New England.

49ers | Reggie Bush visiting SF

Wed, 11 Mar 2015 09:28:41 -0700

Free-agent RB Reggie Bush (Lions) will visit with the San Francisco 49ers Wednesday, March 11.

Fantasy Tip: If Bush were to sign with the Niners, he'd likely be put in a complementary role with Carlos Hyde in the backfield now that Frank Gore is out of town. His value wouldn't likely change all that much. However, San Fran is in a bit of a freefall at this time, and more struggles could come on offense under new offensive coordinator Geep Chryst. Bush would obviously be more valuable in point-per-reception formats, as always.

49ers | Reggie Bush to SF a possibility?

Tue, 10 Mar 2015 12:56:01 -0700

Free-agent RB Reggie Bush (Lions) is considering the San Francisco 49ers for his next team. Other candidates include the New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints.

Fantasy Tip: Frank Gore is gone, so Bush would likely have a complementary role with Carlos Hyde, though Hyde would probably see most of the short-down, goal line work. Bush would ideally have added value in point-per-reception leagues.

Patriots | Reggie Bush eyeing New England?

Tue, 10 Mar 2015 12:50:38 -0700

Free-agent RB Reggie Bush (Lions) has chosen the New England Patriots as one of his next possible teams, according to a source. The New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers are also being considered.

Fantasy Tip: Shane Vereen is out of town, so this move would make sense for both parties. Bush would probably assume Vereen's role, particularly in the passing game, with LeGarrette Blount doing the dirty work between the tackles.

Saints | Reggie Bush returning to New Orleans?

Tue, 10 Mar 2015 12:46:49 -0700

Free-agent RB Reggie Bush (Lions) could be returning to the New Orleans Saints. The New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers are also options, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: The Saints already have Mark Ingram and Khiry Robinson, so Bush's value would be limited, though he would likely see most of the work on passing downs, giving him added value in point-per-reception leagues. There's no guarantee that he does sign with New Orleans, though.

Lions | Reggie Bush released

Wed, 25 Feb 2015 14:22:33 -0800

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush has been released Wednesday, Feb. 25.

Fantasy Tip: This means Joique Bell and Theo Riddick will take over running back duties in Detroit. Riddick will likely take over Bush's role as a complementary, passing down back to Bell and is now a candidate for sleeper status in point-per-reception (PPR) leagues. Bell should see the majority of carries and work near the goal line and remains an RB2 option. As far as Bush is concerned, he still has some gas left in the tank. His fantasy value will obviously depend on where he lands, but he should continue to have more value in PPR leagues.

Lions | Reggie Bush's status is up in the air

Thu, 19 Feb 2015 13:28:28 -0800

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush may be let go this offseason, according to general manager Martin Mayhew, but nothing is certain as the situation stands. "No, we haven't made a determination at this point," Mayhew said. "Anybody on our roster, there's a lot of futures up in the air." Bush has two years left on his current contract and is due $3.25 in base pay this season.

Fantasy Tip: The Lions already have Joique Bell and Theo Riddick rostered, so it would make sense if Bush were released. Bush's value would remain somewhat limited in Detroit, though he would likely be part of a committee no matter where he plays in 2015.

Lions | Reggie Bush's future still unknown

Wed, 18 Feb 2015 12:13:23 -0800

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush's status is still uncertain at this point in the offseason, according to general manager Martin Mayhew. There is speculation that Bush may be asked to take a pay cut or be released.

Fantasy Tip: Bush played in just 11 games last year as part of a committee. While Bush left something to be desired in the running game, he did catch 40 passes. He'll have more value in point-per-reception leagues, per usual, no matter where he plays in 2015.

Lions | Detroit non-committal on Reggie Bush

Wed, 11 Feb 2015 21:35:21 -0800

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush is under contract for the 2015 season, but neither head coach Jim Caldwell nor general manager Martin Mayhew would commit to bringing Bush back after an injury-riddled 2014 season.

Fantasy Tip: Bush might have played his last down in Detroit. If he is back with the Lions or another team, he can still be a valuable contributor in fantasy leagues which reward points per reception (PPR). However, his outlook is a bit murky right now.

Lions | Reggie Bush finds end zone

Sun, 21 Dec 2014 14:02:16 -0800

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush ran seven times for 54 yards and a touchdown in Week 16 against the Chicago Bears, and he added six receptions for 44 yards.

Fantasy Tip: The 98 total yards from scrimmage was actually his second-highest total (99 yards was best in Week 3) of the season. That 99-yard performance came against the Green Bay Packers, the team's opponent in Week 17. He is a solid low-end RB2 or flex play in FantasyScore for next week's crucial NFC North battle.

Lions | Reggie Bush will dress

Sun, 14 Dec 2014 11:59:12 -0800

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) is active for the team's Week 15 game.

Fantasy Tip: Bush likely will have a role in on offense this week, but it is not known if he will be limited by the injury. Bush has a favorable matchup against the Minnesota Vikings this week and could be a cheap option on FantasyScore at $4,000.

Lions | Reggie Bush questionable

Fri, 12 Dec 2014 14:09:38 -0800

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) was limited in practice Friday, Dec. 12, and is questionable for the team's Week 15 game.

Fantasy Tip: Bush will cost $4,000 in FantasyScore this week, but he is a risky play as he continues to recover from injury. You should probably look elsewhere until Bush proves he is healthy.

Lions | Reggie Bush remains confident

Thu, 11 Dec 2014 15:45:25 -0800

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) and the coaching staff believe that he can return to form and be one of the most dangerous weapons out of the backfield. Bush has missed five games because of injuries this year, and he had just 12 touches for 34 total yards in Week 14 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. RB Theo Riddick didn't play at all, but offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi said that was a one-game anomaly.

Fantasy Tip: It's hard to say if Bush ($4,000) will be at full health before the end of the season. For right now, though, Joique Bell ($6,600) is the better play at FantasyScore, and Theo Riddick ($3,600) isn't a smart play with Bush back.

Lions | Reggie Bush limited Thursday

Thu, 11 Dec 2014 15:31:23 -0800

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) was limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 11, after sitting out Wednesday, Dec. 10.

Fantasy Tip: Bush ($4,000) is expected to play against the Minnesota Vikings. He's probably nothing more than a shaky flex play as he continues to recover from injury, but the Vikes present a good opportunity to make a notable impact; they're giving up an average of 20.62 fantasy points to running backs this year.

Lions | No practice for Reggie Bush

Wed, 10 Dec 2014 14:02:42 -0800

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) did not take part in practice Wednesday, Dec. 10. Bush ran the ball eight times for 26 yards in Week 14 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and also had four catches for eight yards. However, he tweaked his ankle again while playing a full game.

Fantasy Tip: Bush ($4,000) didn't do much in his first game back, reminding us that it mike take some time as the team eases him back in. Joique Bell ($6,600) remains the better FantasyScore this week against the Minnesota Vikings, and you can pretty much ignore Theo Riddick ($3,600) when Bush is active.

Lions | Theo Riddick without a role?

Tue, 09 Dec 2014 14:45:09 -0800

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick doesn't have much of a role in the offense right now, because RB Reggie Bush is more valuable as both a runner and a receiver. Bush is averaging 1.1 more yards per carry than Riddick and has more speed than him, too. Riddick hasn't shown much ability as a pure running back, making the offense predictable when he's on the field. The Lions have run 25 times of Riddick's 133 snaps this year.

Fantasy Tip: Bush's return has really made Riddick useless for fantasy football owners; Riddick wasn't used at all in Week 14. Don't bother looking at him for $3,600 at FantasyScore this weekend against the Minnesota Vikings. Bush ($4,000) should start being considered again as a flex option in PPR leagues like FantasyScore.

Lions | Reggie Bush, Theo Riddick probable

Fri, 05 Dec 2014 14:08:43 -0800

Detroit Lions RBs Reggie Bush (ankle, back) and Theo Riddick (toe) are probable for Week 14 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Riddick was limited in practice Friday, Dec. 5, while Bush practiced in full for the third straight day.

Fantasy Tip: Despite an excellent matchup against the Bucs, Bush ($4,900) isn't a smart play if he returns, due to his long layoff and the fact that he could be limited. Joique Bell ($5,900) is the one to play in this backfield in Week 14.

Lions | Reggie Bush says he's 100%

Thu, 04 Dec 2014 19:15:25 -0800

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle, back) said he is "100% healthy" and will play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday, Dec. 7.

Fantasy Tip: Although it looks like Bush will return in Week 14, his role in the offense remains to be seen. He is too risky to use at FantasyScore.

Lions | Reggie Bush a full go again

Thu, 04 Dec 2014 13:46:16 -0800

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle, back) practiced in full for the second straight day Thursday, Dec. 4.

Fantasy Tip: Until we see Bush ($4,900) active and playing meaningful snaps again in this backfield, both Joique Bell ($5,900) and Theo Riddick ($4,600) are better FantasyScore options this weekend against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Lions | Reggie Bush practicing in full

Wed, 03 Dec 2014 13:18:25 -0800

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle, back) practiced in full Wednesday, Dec. 3.

Fantasy Tip: We've been warning you that the Lions aren't rushing Bush back. This could be the week he returns, however, and a full practice to start the week is a good sign. For a FantasyScore price of $4,900, though, Bush isn't a strong option, with Joique Bell ($5,900) and Theo Riddick ($4,600) still in the mix.

Lions | Reggie Bush expected back Sunday

Tue, 02 Dec 2014 07:08:05 -0800

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) has been doing some work in practice and is expected to play Sunday, Dec. 7, for Week 15.

Fantasy Tip: Bush ($4,900; 9.8% of your cap) would be a solid start against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at a sneaky good price on FantasyScore.

Lions | Reggie Bush inactive

Thu, 27 Nov 2014 08:09:21 -0800

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) is inactive Thursday, Nov. 27, for Week 13.

Fantasy Tip: Joique Bell ($5,200; 10.4% of your cap) is a decent RB2 on FantasyScore this week. Theo Riddick ($3,400; 6.8%) could be a value flex option as well.

Lions | Reggie Bush out for Week 13

Thu, 27 Nov 2014 07:09:43 -0800

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) is out for Week 13 Thursday, Nov. 27. His ankle isn't responding well enough, but the hope is to return for Week 14.

Fantasy Tip: Joique Bell ($5,200; 10.4% of your cap) and Theo Riddick ($3,400; 6.8%) will split work again. Bell has the edge because of his receiving skills, but Riddick could be a solid flex if the Lions try to run the time of possession game.

Lions | Reggie Bush questionable

Wed, 26 Nov 2014 13:48:34 -0800

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle, back) was limited in practice for the third straight day Wednesday, Nov. 26, and is questionable for Week 13 against the Chicago Bears.

Fantasy Tip: Bush could be another game-time decision tomorrow as the team practices caution with him. Bush ($4,900) isn't the most sound investment at FantasyScore, even if he plays. There's too much potential for disappointment here.

Lions | Reggie Bush also has back injury

Tue, 25 Nov 2014 16:44:07 -0800

Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle, back) was limited in practice Tuesday, Nov. 25, with a back injury added to his status. Bush missed the last two games with an ankle injury. There was no further information on his back ailment.

Fantasy Tip: Bush has already said he'll play Thursday, Nov. 27, but the injuries could hinder him, especially since the back injury is a new development. If he does play, he could very well be limited and probably isn't worth the $4,900 gamble on FantasyScore.

Lions | Limited practice for Reggie Bush

Tue, 25 Nov 2014 14:01:19 -0800

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) was limited at practice for the second straight day Tuesday, Nov. 25.

Fantasy Tip: Bush vows to return Thursday against the Chicago Bears. How many touches will he have if he comes back, though, with Joique Bell and Theo Riddick also being used? It's tough to say, and Bush probably doesn't justify his $4,900 FantasyScore price.

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) said he'll be ready to play Thursday, Nov. 27, after missing Week 12 with an ankle injury.

Fantasy Tip: Bush will still be splitting time with Joique Bell and Theo Riddick and could be on a snap count coming off the injury. He's a risky play at a price of $4,900 on FantasyScore.

Mon, 24 Nov 2014 13:41:49 -0800

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) was limited at practice Monday, Nov. 24. The Lions didn't practice Monday, however, so Bush's designation is an estimation.

Fantasy Tip: Bush was expected to return in Week 12, but he didn't. The Lions are being extremely cautious with his return, so it's unknown if he'll play Thursday against the Chicago Bears. If he does, his FantasyScore price is unlikely to be worth a lineup entry for your team.

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) was not spotted during early warmups Sunday, Nov. 23, and he's unlikely to play in Week 12.

Fantasy Tip: Joique Bell ($5,400; 10.8% of your cap) is a decent flex option with Theo Riddick ($4,700; 9.4%) a fairly risky option in Week 12.

Sat, 22 Nov 2014 14:30:25 -0800

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) is likely out for Week 12 and is targeting the Thanksgiving Day game Thursday, Nov. 27, to return.

Fantasy Tip: Joique Bell ($5,400; 10.8% of your cap) is a decent flex option with Theo Riddick ($4,700; 9.4%) a lesser flex certainty in Week 12. The long layoff may give Bush a chance to return fresh in Week 13 and be more of a factor than he has been thus far.

Lions | Reggie Bush questionable

Fri, 21 Nov 2014 14:05:48 -0800

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) was limited for the third straight day in practice Friday, Nov. 21, and he is listed as questionable for Week 12 against the New England Patriots.

Fantasy Tip: There's still a chance that Bush could miss his fourth straight game, but he said earlier this week that he expects to play. Bush remains risky at FantasyScore for $5,200, especially when Detroit has two other options that are fully capable of carrying the load.

Detroit Lions RBs Joique Bell (ankle) and Reggie Bush (ankle) were both limited in practice Thursday, Nov. 20. Bell did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Both running backs are expected to play against the New England Patriots in Week 12. Bell ($5,400) should be the more trusted FantasyScore lineup option, though, and the Pats have allowed an average of 18.63 fantasy points to running backs. Bush costs slightly less than Bell at $5,200.

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) said he is on track to play against the New England Patriots in Week 12. He was not able to play in Week 11 because of the injury.

Fantasy Tip: Bush is working his way back from his ankle injury, so he could be limited if he is active for Week 12. Bush costs $5,200 on FantasyScore but probably is a risky option because of the injury.

Lions | Reggie Bush limited at practice

Wed, 19 Nov 2014 13:53:10 -0800

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Nov. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Bush expects to play this weekend against the New England Patriots, but the Lions have said that they don't want to rush him back. Theo Riddick ($4,700) should be a decent play if Bush doesn't suit up. It's hard to trust Bush ($5,200) at his price tag still.
