Packers | Mason Crosby finishing regular season strong

Wed, 18 Dec 2013 00:29:25 -0800

Green Bay Packers PK Mason Crosby has made 5-of-7 attempts from 50 yards and beyond, including two 57-yard field goals this season. Overall, he's converted a career-best 88.2 percent (30-of-34) of his attempts. Earlier this month, Crosby set the NFL record for most points by a player in his first seven seasons, breaking former Indianapolis Colts PK Mike Vanderjagt's mark of 874 points. Crosby now has 887 points. With two games remaining, he is on pace for the third 140-point season of his career. He would join David Akers (2008, 2010-11) and Stephen Gostkowski (2008, 2011-12) as the only players in league history to do so.

Packers | Mason Crosby being pushed hard

Wed, 14 Aug 2013 09:13:07 -0700

Green Bay Packers PK Mason Crosby is being pushed hard by PK Giorgio Tavecchio in training camp, and the decision on who wins the starting job is expected to come down to the final three preseason games. Crosby has reportedly outperformed Tavecchio on kickoffs in camp, while Tavecchio has made 89.7 percent (35 of 39) field goals, as opposed to 76.9 percent (30 of 39) for Crosby.

Fantasy Tip: Whoever wins the Green Bay kicker job is valuable from a fantasy perspective, as this team can score plenty of points. However, due to the uncertainty, avoid both Crosby and Tavecchio in earlier drafts until a clear-cut winner emerges.
