Seahawks | Fred Jackson still wants to play

Mon, 22 Feb 2016 12:32:10 -0800

Seattle Seahawks impending free-agent RB Fred Jackson wants to keep playing and will not retire this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Just two years ago Jackson was one of the better pass-catching running backs in the NFL. He's still capable in the receiving game, but he only ran for 100 yards on 26 carries last season. Only injuries to players higher on the depth chart would give Jackson fantasy relevance again, and that's if someone signs him.

Seahawks | Seattle backfield a mystery

Fri, 18 Dec 2015 16:44:37 -0800

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll admitted that no starting running back has been named for Week 15 against the Cleveland Browns, and that everyone will find out come game time. RBs Bryce Brown, Christine Michael and Fred Jackson will all play in some capacity, and Carroll admitted that Brown and Michael are up to speed on the playbook. Even FB Derrick Coleman could see some work.

Fantasy Tip: Carroll and the Seahawks may go with a hot-hand approach at running back on Sunday once they see who is looking the best in the backfield. That's a huge red flag for fantasy owners, and staying away from the situation entirely is probably your best bet. If you're risking it all, Brown is probably the best gamble. Just remember, we warned you.

Seahawks | Trio to split RB workload in Seattle

Thu, 17 Dec 2015 06:00:44 -0800

Seattle Seahawks RB Bryce Brown and RB Christine Michael are expected to share the early down carries in Week 15 with RB Fred Jackson in on third downs, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Sheil Kapadia.

Fantasy Tip: Honestly, this situation sounds too muddy to rely on anyone against the Cleveland Browns on FantasyScore. Brown or Michael could be shots in the dark in traditional formats. However, if you're in the fantasy playoffs, you're probably not considering such a bold move.

Seahawks | Fred Jackson will be third-down back

Mon, 14 Dec 2015 15:36:24 -0800

Seattle Seahawks RB Fred Jackson will continue to be the team's third-down back, according to head coach Pete Carroll. RBs DuJuan Harris and Bryce Brown are candidates to fill RB Thomas Rawls' (ankle) role in the running game.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson probably will continue to see limited playing time and should still be involved in the passing game. Harris is probably the most attractive option for fantasy owners at this point and could be an option this week because of his favorable matchup against the Cleveland Browns.

Seahawks | Marshawn Lynch not ready

Mon, 14 Dec 2015 10:54:46 -0800

Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch (hernia) is at least a week or two away from returning to action after having sports hernia surgery last month. RBs DuJuan Harris and Fred Jackson will be the main ball carriers now with RB Thomas Rawls (ankle) out for the season. Harris is likely to receive the first crack at the starting duties.

Fantasy Tip: At this point in the fantasy playoffs, don't feel the need to hang onto Lynch if you have other roster needs. Harris should be your first target off the waiver wire if you owned Lynch or Rawls or both. But keep in mind Harris and Jackson could be frustrating flex plays in deeper leagues since the Seahawks have transitioned to more of a passing team with Beast Mode sidelined.

Seahawks | Fred Jackson will play Thursday

Wed, 21 Oct 2015 12:34:26 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB Fred Jackson is fine and will play in Week 7 against the San Francisco 49ers Thursday, Oct. 22, according to head coach Pete Carroll. Jackson was uninjured after crashing his car Tuesday, Oct. 20.

Fantasy Tip: With Marshawn Lynch back from injury, Jackson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is effectively only a third-down back in passing situations on occasion, so he has very little daily value.

Seahawks | Fred Jackson OK after wreck

Tue, 20 Oct 2015 17:56:03 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB Fred Jackson is fine after being involved in a car accident Tuesday, Oct. 20.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) doesn't possess a lot of value with Marshawn Lynch back as starter. He has more value in PPR leagues, but there are still better running back options on FantasyScore.

Seahawks | Fred Jackson will be in uniform

Sun, 11 Oct 2015 08:19:02 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB Fred Jackson (ankle) said he will be able to play in the Week 5 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson's ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) role in the offense is uncertain because he could be affected by the injured ankle during the game. Owners probably should avoid using him in their lineup.

Seahawks | Fred Jackson expected to play

Sun, 11 Oct 2015 07:27:02 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB Fred Jackson (ankle) is expected to play in the Week 5 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) has been dealing with an ankle injury, so his role on offense for the game is uncertain. Thomas Rawls ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) is expected to receive a majority of the carries during the game and could be a solid starting option. Owners probably should be able to find better options than Jackson to use in their lineups.

Seahawks | Fred Jackson a game-time decision

Sat, 10 Oct 2015 14:53:41 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB Fred Jackson (ankle) will participate in pregame workouts so the team can decide if he will be able to play against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 5.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) likely would see limited snaps if he active for the game, so he is not a great fantasy option. Thomas Rawls ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) should receive a majority of the carries and could be a cheaper starting option on FantasyScore even though he is facing a tough Bengals defense.
