Saints | Marques Colston injured

Tue, 26 Aug 2014 20:56:32 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (undisclosed) came off the field during team drills Tuesday, Aug. 26, and talked with a trainer before watching the rest of practice from the sidelines.

Fantasy Tip: Whatever caused Colston to leave the field seems minor at this point, but the situation is worth monitoring. Nagging injuries and New Orleans' spread-the-wealth offensive philosophy can cause Colston's production to fluctuate dramatically on a week-to-week basis, but he still makes a decent WR3 in PPR formats.

New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston said he feels much healthier this season after being plagued by a foot injury the last year or two. The team has limited his workload this preseason to keep him fresh for the season.

Fantasy Tip: Colston is a solid WR4 with upside in PPR leagues.

Saints | Marques Colston inactive

Fri, 15 Aug 2014 17:58:18 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (undisclosed) was inactive for the preseason game Friday, Aug. 15, against the Tennessee Titans.

Fantasy Tip: Colston's injury, if there even is one, is unknown. He simply might have been given the night off to rest and keep him preserved for the regular season. Fantasy owners would not mind that one bit.

Saints | Marques Colston says foot feeling better

Fri, 04 Jul 2014 09:17:57 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (foot) said he is feeling healthy this season. "I feel really good," Colston said. "The foot I know was addressed earlier in the offseason. It's really not an issue. I've been able to get out here with really no restrictions and just run around and feel good."

Fantasy Tip: Colston was hampered by a sore foot last year, but when healthy, he has been a reliable fantasy option. That being said, he isn't getting any younger and with Drew Brees' tendency to spread the wealth, he is probably best suited to be a WR3.

Saints | Expect Marques Colston's foot issues to linger

Wed, 26 Mar 2014 05:36:16 -0700

New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton said the team will monitor WR Marques Colston's (foot) practice time this season.

Fantasy Tip: He dealt with foot soreness for most of the 2013 season, and it appears the 31-year-old may continue to deal with it. He's still a solid WR3, but he appears to be on the downswing.

Saints | Lateral play was planned

Mon, 13 Jan 2014 15:09:09 -0800

New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton said the lateral play at the end of regulation against the Seattle Seahawks in the divisional round was planned, but it involved poor execution by WR Marques Colston. The play was supposed to be a lateral across the field to RB Travaris Cadet, but Colston struggled with the execution. Payton admitted that the play was probably called too early, as well. "It's a play that we worked on," Colston said. "Obviously, it's not an ideal situation (being behind with time expiring and no timeouts), but the ball came out. And obviously the throw didn't go the way I would have planned. But, it happens."
