Special teams captain Matt Slater was selected to the Pro Bowl, PK Stephen Gostkowski had another strong year, and rookie P Ryan Allen was solid replacing the departed P Zoltan Mesko.

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick did not dismiss the possibility of K Stephen Gostkowski assuming the punting duties once again, or a free agent punter being added if P Ryan Allen (shoulder), who injured his right shoulder in the Colts game, is unable to go. Speculation is Belichick would add a punter.

Packers | Mason Crosby finishing regular season strong

Green Bay Packers PK Mason Crosby has made 5-of-7 attempts from 50 yards and beyond, including two 57-yard field goals this season. Overall, he's converted a career-best 88.2 percent (30-of-34) of his attempts. Earlier this month, Crosby set the NFL record for most points by a player in his first seven seasons, breaking former Indianapolis Colts PK Mike Vanderjagt's mark of 874 points. Crosby now has 887 points. With two games remaining, he is on pace for the third 140-point season of his career. He would join David Akers (2008, 2010-11) and Stephen Gostkowski (2008, 2011-12) as the only players in league history to do so.

Baltimore Ravens PK Justin Tucker has connected on 27 consecutive field goals, including the ones made during Thursday's 22-20 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. That is the longest active streak in the NFL, ahead of the New England Patriots' Stephen Gostkowski (21 field goals) and the Seattle Seahawks' Steven Hauschka (15).

The New England Patriots brought in free-agent PKs Billy Cundiff (Redskins), Graham Gano (Redskins) and Neil Rackers (Redskins) for workouts Wednesday, Oct. 31. It's uncertain if either is a serious threat to PK Stephen Gostkowski, or just being look at in the event of an emergency.

Fantasy Tip: Gostkowski has converted seven straight field goals, and 17-of-20 on the season, so it is unlikely he is in danger of losing his job to one of these retreads. He remains a reliable fantasy kicker going forward.

Patriots | Stephen Gostkowski clutch in Week 7

New England Patriots PK Stephen Gostkowski kicked the game-tying 43-yard field goal to force overtime in Week 7 against the New York Jets, and then he knocked through the game-winner in OT from 48 yards out. "Steve came through big. He hit some big kicks and he kicked off well. Yup, did a good job," head coach Bill Belichick said.
