Ellis (knee) will not be in the lineup Saturday, Aug. 2, but manager Don Mattingly said all three players could pinch hit in an emergency situation. 2B Justin Turner will make his first start of the year at first base in place of Gonzalez, 1B Scott Van Slyke will replace Puig in the outfield, and C Drew Butera will start for Ellis.

Fantasy Tip: Gonzalez, Puig and Ellis should all be considered day-to-day at this point, but make sure to remove all three from daily lineups.

Dodgers | Tim Federowicz optioned, Miguel Olivo coming up

Wed, 30 Apr 2014 12:57:35 -0700

The Los Angeles Dodgers optioned C Tim Federowicz to Triple-A Albuquerque Wednesday, April 30, and recalled C Miguel Olivo from Albuquerque in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: Federowicz just wasn't cutting it offensively, hitting near .100. Olivo could form some sort of platoon with Drew Butera behind the dish with A.J. Ellis still out. If neither are receiving regular PT, they aren't worth your time, even in two-catcher leagues.

Dodgers | A.J. Ellis to DL, Tim Federowicz recalled

Tue, 08 Apr 2014 14:45:15 -0700

The Los Angeles Dodgers placed C A.J. Ellis (knee) on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, April 8, and recalled C Tim Federowicz from Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: Federowicz and Drew Butera will split catching duties with Ellis out for four to six weeks. Federowicz should be your first target in NL-only or two-catcher leagues, as he has more offensive upside than Butera.
