Giants | Angel Pagan activated from DL

Tue, 01 Sep 2015 15:42:37 -0700

San Francisco Giants OF Angel Pagan (knee) was activated from the disabled list Tuesday, Sept. 1.

Fantasy Tip: Pagan ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) is having a disastrous season with a .258/.290/.308 slash line, no home runs and just six stolen bases. He is a desperation play in all fantasy formats outside of NL-only and cavernous mixed leagues where he checks out as a low-end outfielder. You should aim higher at FantasyScore until Pagan shows some life at the dish.

Fantasy Tip: Pagan ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) now appears to be on pace to be activated from the disabled list when rosters are expanded Tuesday, Sept. 1. Give him at least one or two games after he returns to action before considering him for use in FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Give Pagan ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) at least a game or two to get his rhythm back before trusting him again in FantasyScore.

Giants | Angel Pagan working his way back

Wed, 26 Aug 2015 16:26:32 -0700

San Francisco Giants OF Angel Pagan (knee) went 2-for-3 with two runs and two walks for Class AAA Sacramento Tuesday, Aug. 25, and he also played eight innings in center field.

Fantasy Tip: You'll want to give Pagan a game or two to shake off the rust when he returns to the Giants before utilizing him at FantasyScore. The veteran is enduring a rough season, though, so his value is at the lowest it has been for a few seasons. He has just six stolen bases, no home runs and a .258 batting average. You should aim higher in the majority of seasonal leagues.

Giants | Angel Pagain and Joe Panik rehabbing

Mon, 17 Aug 2015 09:26:50 -0700

San Francisco Giants OF Angel Pagan (knee) and 2B Joe Panik (back) will go to Arizona to continue their rehabilitation when the Giants begin their road trip.

Fantasy Tip: OF Gregor Blanco ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) will continue to see regular at-bats with Pagan out. He has stolen four bases and hit three home runs while batting .301 this season. Blanco is an affordable option in daily leagues, but is more valuable in yearly leagues where the batting average and stolen bases make him a fourth or fifth outfielder in deeper leagues. Panik ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) has had a good season for a middle infielder, batting .309 with seven home runs and three stolen bases. He needs to be kept in all leagues.

Giants | Angel Pagan lands on DL

Tue, 11 Aug 2015 16:09:46 -0700

San Francisco Giants OF Angel Pagan (knee) was placed on the disabled list with right patellar tendonitis Tuesday, Aug. 11. OF Juan Perez was called up from the minors in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: Pagan is of no use to owners in mixed leagues at this point, especially while being on the DL. Expect Gregor Blanco ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) to see most of the starts in center field in Pagan's absence, and his FantasyScore salary presents a ton of value for daily gamers, especially when he's hitting leadoff, like he probably will the majority of the time.

Giants | Angel Pagan sitting out

Sun, 09 Aug 2015 09:26:34 -0700

San Francisco Giants OF Angel Pagan is not in the starting lineup against Chicago Cubs SP Jake Arrieta Sunday, Aug. 9. OF Gregor Blanco will start in center field and is batting second in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Pagan ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) likely is receiving a rest and should return to the lineup soon. Blanco ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is hitting only .211 in seven games this month and may not be the best option for owners on FantasyScore.
