Updating a previous report, the New York Giants reportedly have a fourth "sleeper" candidate for their head coaching vacancy in case their top three choices are hired by other teams, according to a source. Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, New England Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia and New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels are finalists for the Giants' job but they are also the favorites for the Arizona, Detroit and Indianapolis head coaching positions respectively. The identity of the fourth sleeper candidate is unknown.

Part of his appeal, according to sources, is that Shurmur can potentially attract QB Case Keenum along with him if he were to take the job in Arizona, as Keenum is soon to be a free agent. Sources also indicate that Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks is "right behind Shurmur at the top of the Cardinals' list."
