Broncos | Denver tight ends to form platoon?

Wed, 08 Jul 2015 12:35:57 -0700

Denver Broncos TEs Owen Daniels and Virgil Green could both see enough snaps this season to be considered starters, according to Andrew Mason of denverbroncos.com.

Fantasy Tip: Green has been known throughout his career as more of a blocking tight end, while Daniels is viewed as more of a passing threat. Daniels has proven to be the better receiver. He holds more fantasy value in this offense and should be taken as a TE2.

Broncos | Virgil Green worked with star QB

Tue, 07 Jul 2015 19:53:56 -0700

Denver Broncos TE Virgil Green worked out with QB Peyton Manning during his sessions at Duke University this offseason. It is another indication he could be ready to see starter-type snaps in the regular season, even with the addition of TE Owen Daniels.

Fantasy Tip: Green has generally been a blocker for most of his reps, but he is likely to factor more into the offense this season. Think Jacob Tamme's role from the past, and that will give you a sense of Green's fantasy appeal. Unless Daniels suffers a long-term injury, Green is still best left to the waiver wire in most leagues, although his role is increasing.

Broncos | Peyton reaches out to Owen Daniels

Wed, 11 Mar 2015 16:23:09 -0700

Denver Broncos TE Owen Daniels, who signed a three-year, $12 million deal with the team Tuesday, March 10, was asked by QB Peyton Manning to attend his Duke passing camp later this month. Daniels brings with him to Denver a reputation as a precise route runner, and he admitted that this offseason will include "more studying" as head coach Gary Kubiak incorporates new language into Denver's offense.

Fantasy Tip: Daniels is looking to replace heaps of production that Julius Thomas had in the last two seasons, but Daniels' precise route-running skills are something that Thomas lacked, and Manning will surely appreciate. The familiarity with Kubiak's schemes is another positive for Daniels. In this offense, Daniels should be able to put up TE1 numbers more often than not.

Broncos | Owen Daniels lands in Denver

Tue, 10 Mar 2015 13:09:04 -0700

Baltimore Ravens impending free-agent TE Owen Daniels reached an agreement with the Denver Broncos Tuesday, March 10, according to sources. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: With Julius Thomas out of the picture in Denver, Daniels should come in and serve as the team's pass-catching tight end. Daniels is familiar with head coach Gary Kubiak from their time with the Baltimore Ravens. The move should considerably raise Daniels' fantasy value as a potential TE1 in the Broncos' offense as a notable red zone threat.

Baltimore Ravens impending free-agent TE Owen Daniels is expected to sign with the Denver Broncos, according to the Ravens' thinking. Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak figures to be one of the selling points.

Ravens | Owen Daniels wants to return to BAL

Wed, 25 Feb 2015 04:36:28 -0800

Free-agent TE Owen Daniels (Ravens) has expressed interest in returning to the Baltimore Ravens, according to head coach John Harbaugh.

Fantasy Tip: Daniels rebounded from a down 2013 season where he was hurt, and he caught four touchdown passes and had 527 yards. He remains a decent fantasy play because of his on-field rapport with QB Joe Flacco.

Ravens | Owen Daniels hopes to re-sign with Ravens

Thu, 15 Jan 2015 09:25:46 -0800

Baltimore Ravens impending free-agent TE Owen Daniels said he would like to re-sign with the Baltimore Ravens this offseason and believes he can play a few more seasons in the NFL.

Fantasy Tip: Daniels started most of the games this season since Dennis Pitta was out with a hip injury. He had a solid 2014 season but never had more than 70 receiving yards in a game. Daniels has a chance to be the starter next season if he re-signs with the team and Dennis Pitta is still not ready to return, but Daniels should be considered as a No. 2 tight end.

Ravens | Owen Daniels listed as probable

Fri, 09 Jan 2015 13:29:42 -0800

Baltimore Ravens TE Owen Daniels (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 9, and is listed as probable for the Divisional Round playoff game.

Fantasy Tip: Daniels should be able to play in the playoff game after receiving a day off earlier in the week. Daniels was a solid part of the passing game in the wild-card playoff game and likely will receive targets this week. Daniels costs $5,200 on FantasyScore and could be an option for owners looking to save some money at the position.
