Retired Baltimore Ravens ILB Ray Lewis was unable to take part in a climb of Mount Kilimanjaro due to a foot injury and fever, according to the charitable organization, TackleKili. Prior to the climb, TackleKili said that Lewis' fever spiked and his foot began swelling. The mission organization for World Serve International and Pros for Africa, TackleKili said Lewis made the choice to not go forward with the climb due to his health.

Ravens | Joe Flacco has been a great leader

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh praised QB Joe Flacco as being a great leader, and that LB Ray Lewis retiring is not going to change who Flacco is. "Joe has been a great leader," Harbaugh said. "Joe has done a great job throughout his career in his own way. One thing about Joe: Nothing is going to change Joe. Joe is going to be who he is. "I don't think a change in the roster is going to change Joe, who he is. A change in the contract isn't going to change Joe. Joe is Joe, and that's what you love about him."

Baltimore Ravens LB Terrell Suggs does not believe he will be the team's leader following the departure of LB Ray Lewis. Instead, Suggs believes QB Joe Flacco will fill that void. "Regardless of what anyone says, Joe Flacco, he's proven he's one hell of a leader, so I don't have any problems sharing the role with him," Suggs said.

Baltimore Ravens LB Ray Lewis struggled in coverage during Super Bowl XLVII, which led head coach John Harbaugh to tell his defensive assistant coaches that they needed to make sure their calls didn't leave Lewis covering San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis or WR Michael Crabtree over the middle of the field. "We can't let Ray be matched up on 85 or 15 all day when we're playing quarters," Harbaugh told his coaches.

Baltimore Ravens LB Ray Lewis gave an 11-minute speech Saturday, Feb. 2, prior to Super Bowl XLVII that reportedly had many of his teammates tearful. "It was awesome. Awesome. Exactly what we needed," LB Terrell Suggs said. "But what else do you expect from the ultimate leader? There'll never be another like him. He talked about his teammates. He said, 'When we get this done tomorrow, we'll be linked together forever … Let's go show the world how special our brotherhood is.' And that's what we went and did."

Ravens | Ray Lewis to wear commemorative cleats

Baltimore Ravens LB Ray Lewis will sport a custom pair of bright gold cleats with purple trim made specifically to commemorate his career during Super Bowl XLVII. The cleats were created by Under Armour. The words "Psalms 91" is printed near the toe, which is the bible verse Lewis wore on his t-shirt under his pads during the team's Wild Card win against the Indianapolis Colts. His stats and awards are listed on the insole along with Lewis' silhouette in the midst of his pregame dance. His number and initials are printed on the tongue.

Ravens | Supplier never saw Ray Lewis use spray

The man who reportedly supplied Baltimore Ravens LB Ray Lewis with deer-antler spray can't confirm the linebacker ever used the stuff. Mitch Ross said, "I never saw him put it in his mouth," when asked if Lewis ever tried the spray.
