Bears | Adam Gase to be hired as OC

Wed, 21 Jan 2015 16:31:38 -0800

Former Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase will be hired by the Chicago Bears as their new offensive coordinator, according to a source. Gase will receive an undisclosed three-year deal.

Fantasy Tip: Gase had great success in Denver with future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning, but can he replicate that production with Jay Cutler in Chicago? Only time will tell, but Cutler has the offensive weapons to be productive enough to be a midrange QB1 in many weeks again next season, despite the coaching upheaval.

Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase said he feels like he is ready to be a head coach in the NFL. "That was the first thing they asked me, and I said I do feel that I was ready," Gase said Wednesday at Broncos' headquarters. "It's just when we beat San Diego and got to the next game, I just felt like mentally it was kind of … if we beat New England, I'm not going to be able to do anything till February and then it's going to be a quick spiral with implementing an offense, getting the staff ready to go, getting to the combine that's a lot of stuff in like 2 ½ weeks. "So I didn't think it was fair to myself or them (because) I'm not going to get all this stuff implemented, and then I knew if we lost I was going to be out of it."
