Titans | Delanie Walker will thrive in Week 11

Wed, 16 Nov 2016 22:48:43 -0800

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker will meet the Indianapolis Colts in Week 11. He posted seven receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown on eight targets in the first meeting back in Week 7.

Fantasy Tip: The Colts have allowed 59 receptions for 683 yards and four touchdowns against tight ends this season, so Walker is in good shape for a big fantasy performance in Week 11.

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (groin) hauled in nine receptions for 124 yards and a touchdown in the Week 11 game against the Indianapolis Colts. He was targeted 11 times.

Fantasy Tip: Walker was questionable with a groin injury this week, but he made it through the game without any setbacks and rewarded his fantasy owners for the risk. He will have another big game in Week 11 against the poor pass defense of the Indianapolis Colts.

Fri, 11 Nov 2016 13:16:19 -0800

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (groin) was a full participant at practice for the third consecutive day Friday, Nov. 11.

Fantasy Tip: Walker's status was never really in doubt, but it's a sign he's getting back to full health. He's one of Marcus Mariota's most consistent targets and is firmly in the TE1 picture. He's among the league leaders at his position with four receiving touchdowns.

Titans | Delanie Walker full go

Thu, 10 Nov 2016 14:50:23 -0800

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (groin) participated fully in practice Thursday, Nov. 10.

Fantasy Tip: Walker hasn't been a sexy play so far this year, but he has quietly produced on a consistent basis. He is Marcus Mariota's safest target and is in TE1 territory as usual.

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (groin) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Nov. 9.

Sun, 06 Nov 2016 12:13:36 -0800

Titans | Delanie Walker expected to play

Sun, 06 Nov 2016 06:03:17 -0800

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (groin) appears likely to play in Week 9's game against the San Diego Chargers, even though he was listed as questionable on the injury report, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Walker was held out of practice as a precautionary measure Friday, Nov. 4, after sustaining a groin injury while slipping during a drill Thursday, Nov. 3. He should be viewed as a strong TE1 option versus a San Diego defense that has experienced difficulty covering tight ends this season.

Titans | Delanie Walker questionable

Fri, 04 Nov 2016 15:04:17 -0700

Updating a previous report, Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (groin) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 4, and is listed as questionable for Week 9.

Fantasy Tip: Walker may be a game-time decision for Week 9, so owners will need to check the inactive list before deciding on their lineups. Walker is a solid No. 1 tight end if he is active, but owners will need other options available just in case.

Titans | Delanie Walker optimistic about Week 9

Fri, 04 Nov 2016 11:58:32 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (groin) slipped during a drill in practice Thursday, Nov. 3, which caused his latest injury. He missed practice on Friday, Nov. 4, and admitted he will likely be a game-time decision for Week 9 versus San Diego Chargers but told reporters it is an injury "I can probably play with".

Fantasy Tip: With Walker dealing with some injuries and the Titans running game taking off this year, Walker has been a bit hit-or-miss in fantasy. Barring a setback, however, he is a quality TE1 play this weekend against a defense that has struggled against the few "name" tight ends (such as Travis Kelce and Julius Thomas) it has faced. If Walker is cleared, he should be expected to perform well.

Titans | Delanie Walker limited Thursday

Thu, 03 Nov 2016 15:14:11 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (groin) was limited in practice Thursday, Nov. 3.

Titans | Delanie Walker not on injury report

Wed, 26 Oct 2016 11:53:24 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (chest) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 26, and is not on the injury report for Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: Walker has been a solid part of the team's passing game this season and has been targeted eight times in three of his last four games. Walker should be a solid No. 1 tight end in all fantasy leagues.

Titans | Delanie Walker full go

Tue, 25 Oct 2016 16:32:05 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (chest) was a full participant in practice Tuesday, Oct. 25.

Fantasy Tip: Marcus Mariota will have his favorite target Thursday night against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars have not been accommodating to tight ends in 2016, but Walker remains in TE1 territory as the Titans' best option in the passing game.

Titans | Delanie Walker sits Monday

Mon, 24 Oct 2016 16:48:58 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (chest) did not practice Monday, Oct. 24. Walker is dealing with a bruised chest. The Titans did not practice; Walker's limited status is an estimation.

Fantasy Tip: Walker is Marcus Mariota's most reliable target, so this would be a big loss if Walker can't take the field this week. If he can't play, then Anthony Fasano would make for a decent sleeper option in his stead.

Titans | Delanie Walker suffers bruised chest

Mon, 24 Oct 2016 12:05:45 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (chest) came away from his team's Week 7 loss to the Indianapolis Colts with a bruised chest, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.

Fantasy Tip: Mularkey didn't go into much detail with any of his injury updates Monday. It doesn't seem as though his injury is serious, but Tennessee plays again Thursday, so Walker won't have the typical recovery time he normally would. If he is active for Week 8, expect Walker to be a low-end TE1 against a Jacksonville Jaguars defense that has defended that position pretty well this season.

Titans | Delanie Walker has solid Week 7

Sun, 23 Oct 2016 15:13:51 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker caught seven passes for 84 yards and one touchdown in a 34-26 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Fantasy Tip: Walker and QB Marcus Mariota have developed a strong rapport, so pick him up if he is free in your league. Even though Walker is a TE, he routinely leads the Titans receivers.

Titans | Delanie Walker solid again

Sun, 09 Oct 2016 14:04:40 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker caught five passes for 66 yards and a touchdown Sunday, Oct. 9, in a 30-14 win over the Miami Dolphins.

Fantasy Tip: Walker and QB Marcus Mariota have developed a decent rapport over a season and a half, so Walker will likely remain one of Tennessee's top threats as long as he is healthy.

Titans | Delanie Walker quiet in return

Sun, 02 Oct 2016 17:40:23 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (hamstring) was able to play in the Week 4 game against the Houston Texans after missing a game due to a hamstring injury. He managed two grabs for 34 yards on eight targets.

Fantasy Tip: Walker was targeted frequently, as he normally is, but something was off between he and Marcus Mariota. Walker remains a solid TE1 heading into Week 5 in Miami, and hopefully he was just a bit rusty.

Titans | Delanie Walker will play

Sun, 02 Oct 2016 09:03:34 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (hamstring) is officially active for the team's Week 4 game.

Fantasy Tip: Walker is a risky option for owners because of the hamstring injury, but he should have a solid role in the passing game in Week 4. He can be a starting option in all leagues, but owners can keep him out another week if they have better options at tight end.

Titans | Delanie Walker expected to play

Sun, 02 Oct 2016 06:35:48 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (hamstring) is expected to play in Week 4's game against the Houston Texans, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Walker took part in practice on a limited basis throughout the week but should be viewed as a risky starting option Sunday, especially considering that the Texans have given up the fewest receiving yards in the NFL.

Titans | Delanie Walker confident about Week 4

Sat, 01 Oct 2016 11:06:02 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (hamstring) is questionable for Week 4 against the Houston Texans, but he practiced on Friday, Sept. 30, and is optimistic about his chances of playing after missing sitting out against the Oakland Raiders last week. "I feel like I have an opportunity to play this week. I did a lot of running (Friday)," Walker said.

Fantasy Tip: It might be wise for the Titans to hold Walker out one more week, but there is no denying he can make an impact if he plays. Unfortunately, the matchup against Houston is not a good one for him, so owners may want to look in another direction even if he does go. Jace Amaro will likely pick up the slack again if he can't, but he is a longshot to cause a ripple in fantasy.

Fri, 30 Sep 2016 14:38:21 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 30, and is listed as questionable for Week 4.

Fantasy Tip: Walker likely will be a game-time decision this week, so owners will need to check on his status before deciding on their starting lineup. He will be a risky option if he is active but should still be a starting candidate for owners.

Titans | Delanie Walker uncertain for Week 4

Fri, 30 Sep 2016 10:39:58 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (hamstring) has taken part in limited practices this week and "is improving", according to head coach Mike Mularkey. However, he is still expected to be a game-time decision in Week 4 against the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Tip: Houston has been among the most difficult defenses for tight ends thus far, so Walker is a poor bet to make a huge difference in fantasy this week given his current health. Hunter Henry, Zach Miller and Cameron Brate are among several readily available options at tight end this week who should be started over Walker in Week 4.

Titans | Delanie Walker back at practice

Thu, 29 Sep 2016 17:19:51 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (hamstring) returned to practice on a limited basis Thursday, Sept. 29.

Fantasy Tip: Walker is expected to return to action against the Houston Texans in Week 4, and his status as Marcus Mariota's favorite target makes him a TE1.

Titans | Delanie Walker likely back in Week 4

Wed, 28 Sep 2016 20:48:57 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (hamstring) is likely to return in Week 4 against the Houston Texans, head coach Mike Mularkey said Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Fantasy Tip: Walker missed the Week 3 game and the Tennessee offense was out of sorts, as Marcus Mariota failed to throw a TD for the first time this season. If Walker returns, it helps the passing game across the board.

Titans | Delanie Walker does not practice

Wed, 28 Sep 2016 14:18:47 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Fantasy Tip: Walker missed Week 3 but could return for the matchup against the Houston Texans Sunday, Oct. 2. He's one of more involved pass catchers in the offense and checks out as a low-end starting option if active. Monitor his progress during practice this week.

Titans | Delanie Walker may practice this week

Mon, 26 Sep 2016 17:10:44 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (hamstring) may be able to participate in practice Thursday, Sept. 29, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.

Fantasy Tip: Walker was not able to play in Week 3, so owners will need to check on his status during the week to see if he will be in uniform for Week 4. Walker should be a starting option when he is healthy, but owners will need a backup plan in case he misses another game.

Titans | Delanie Walker won't play Sunday

Sun, 25 Sep 2016 08:05:32 -0700

Updating a previous report, Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (hamstring) has been declared out for Week 3's game against the Oakland Raiders.

Fantasy Tip: Anthony Fasano and Phillip Supernaw will split time at tight end for Tennessee this afternoon, although neither player is a great fantasy option. Expect WR Tajae Sharpe to see even more targets than normal, making him a strong flex option in all formats.

Titans | Delanie Walker's status still uncertain

Sun, 25 Sep 2016 06:20:39 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (hamstring) is expected to be a game-time decision for Week 3's game against the Oakland Raiders. He is expected to participate in pregame warmups to test his hamstring before deciding whether he is able to play.

Fantasy Tip: TEs Anthony Fasano and Phillip Supernaw would split playing time at the position for the Titans if Walker is unavailable, although neither player is a viable fantasy option this week. WR Tajae Sharpe would also see an increase in targets and production.

Titans | Delanie Walker unsure about Week 3 status

Sat, 24 Sep 2016 11:09:50 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 3 and may be limited at best if he does play against the Oakland Raiders. "We'll see how I feel (Sunday) and go from there. It is getting better, it is just a nag. … I have done this before, where I haven't practiced all week and still went out there and had a great game. So I don't think that will be an issue," Walker said.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should plan on being without Walker in Week 3 despite his mildly optimistic remarks, while the injury should take him off the DFS radar even if he does play. Anthony Fasano and Phillip Supernaw would see a bump in snaps if he sits out, but neither are worth a look in fantasy. It is much more likely Tajae Sharpe will benefit the most statistically, making him a high-upside WR3 this weekend.

Titans | Delanie Walker questionable for Week 3

Fri, 23 Sep 2016 13:04:46 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (hamstring) was held out of practice on Friday, Sept. 23, and has been listed as questionable for Week 3 against the Oakland Raiders.

Fantasy Tip: It will be a bit of a shame for owners if Walker sits, as the Raiders were scorched by the Atlanta Falcons' average group of tight ends last week, giving up nine catches for 180 yards and a touchdown. With no other notable tight end on the Titans' roster, Tajae Sharpe could see a slight bump in targets and production against an Oakland secondary that has greatly disappointed so far.

Titans | Delanie Walker returns to practice

Thu, 22 Sep 2016 17:39:46 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (hamstring) returned to practice on a limited basis Thursday, Sept. 22.

Fantasy Tip: As long as Walker suits up Sunday, he should be a solid TE1 against an Oakland secondary that has been gashed in the first two weeks of the season.

Titans | Delanie Walker sits out

Wed, 21 Sep 2016 17:04:02 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (hamstring) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 21.

Fantasy Tip: It is not known if Walker is in danger of missing Week 3, so owners should keep an eye on the situation. He is coming off a solid Week 2 performance and should be a starting option in all leagues if he is able to play.

Titans | Delanie Walker finds the end zone

Sun, 18 Sep 2016 14:11:02 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker caught six balls for 83 yards and a touchdown Sunday, Sept. 18, against the Detroit Lions.

Fantasy Tip: The Lions surrendered three touchdowns to Indianapolis Colts tight ends in Week 1, so this shouldn't have come as much of a surprise. Walker is a fine play in Week 3 against the Oakland Raiders.

Titans | Delanie Walker leaves game early

Sat, 27 Aug 2016 18:29:24 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (illness) left the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 27, against the Oakland Raiders because he did not feel right, and could not catch his breath.

Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners will be breathing easier, as Walker did not suffer any type of leg injury which was speculated on the telecast. It appears he'll be just fine, and left as a precaution. He remains a fantastic TE1, especially in PPR fantasy formats.

Titans | Delanie Walker to be targeted most?

Wed, 17 Aug 2016 21:50:53 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker is expected to remain the primary pass target, according to beat writer Paul Kuharsky, although the team will try to spread the ball around to a lot of different people.

Fantasy Tip: Walker is a low-end TE1 who will see plenty of targets in Tennessee. The wide receiver corps is a big mess and Walker could easily lead this team in receiving yards and scores through the air.

Titans | Delanie Walker tired of losing

Fri, 10 Jun 2016 18:37:18 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker said the locker room is tired of losing, and the team is buying into head coach Mike Mularkey's system and starting to understand his offense.

Fantasy Tip: Walker is among the intriguing fantasy options in Tennessee offense, and he should be a reliable TE1 option in 2016.

Titans | Marcus Mariota comfortable with offense

Fri, 20 May 2016 18:36:16 -0700

Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota has been more vocal this offseason, according to TE Delanie Walker, and he looks more comfortable with the offensive system and is making quicker decisions.

Fantasy Tip: Mariota can't be counted on as a starting fantasy quarterback just yet, but given his upside, he is an appealing QB2.

Titans | Derrick Henry impressing teammates

Fri, 13 May 2016 18:24:19 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry is going to be a "monster" for the offense, TE Delanie Walker said, and C Ben Jones said he "can't wait" to see what Henry does behind Tennessee's improved offensive line.

Fantasy Tip: DeMarco Murray figures to be the primary back for the Titans, but with Henry built to handle the goal-line work, he is no worse than a RB4. Plus, he is an injury to Murray away from being a RB2 candidate, so reaching a bit to secure Henry's services isn't a bad idea.

Titans | Delanie Walker contract details

Thu, 12 May 2016 08:02:21 -0700

Updating previous reports, Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker's new deal includes a $1 million roster bonus due Monday, May 16, and a $2.7 million guaranteed base this season, with up to $250,000 total in per-game roster bonuses. He has a $4.2 million base salary in 2017, fully guaranteed fifth day of league year, and up to $250,000 total in per-game roster bonuses. In 2018, he has a $500,000 roster bonus on fifth day of league year, a $5.4 million base and up to $250,000 total in per-game roster bonuses.

Fantasy Tip: Walker had a career year in 2015 with a 94-1,088-6 line. The team beefed up the running game in the offseason and added Rishard Matthews to the receiving corps. Walker could still be serviceable in fantasy, but it's unlikely he'll remain in that midrange TE1 mix. He's better as a low-end TE1.

Titans | Delanie Walker receives extension

Fri, 06 May 2016 15:44:51 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker signed a two-year contract extension Friday, May 6, worth $14.7 million. The deal includes $8.2 million in guaranteed money.

Fantasy Tip: Walker was a big part of the Titans' passing game in 2015 and finished the season with 94 receptions, 1,088 receiving yards and six touchdowns. He should have similar role in 2016 and will be a solid No. 1 tight end in all fantasy leagues.

Titans | Delanie Walker to block more

Tue, 19 Apr 2016 23:11:01 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker is likely to be asked to block more with the addition of RB DeMarco Murray.

Fantasy Tip: Walker had a career year last year with a 94-1,088-6 season, and this isn't good news for a repeat. He caught 60 and 63 balls in the two previous years, which he might fall back in the range of. The tight end position is the healthiest it has been in fantasy in quite some time, so Walker poses some risks as a midrange TE1.

Sun, 03 Jan 2016 14:48:42 -0800

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker caught nine passes for 94 yards in a 30-24 loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Jan. 3.

Fantasy Tip: Walker became the first tight end in Titans history to top the 1,000-yard mark and the ninth tight end in NFL history to catch at least 90 passes in a season. Barring any injuries he will go into next year ranked among the top tight ends in football. He had chemistry with both Zach Mettenberger and Marcus Mariota.

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 25, and is listed as probable for the Week 16 game against the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Tip: Walker ($7,500, 15.0% of cap) should be one of the team's top receiving options against the Texans this week. Walker has posted at least 60 yards in each of his last five games and is a solid starting option on FantasyScore.

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker racked up eight receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown in the Week 13 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was targeted a team-high 12 times.

Fantasy Tip: Walker has posted 91 or more yards in each of his past three games, and he has at least six receptions in seven of his past eight games. He remains a must-start option in FantasyScore, although the Titans have a difficult matchup in Week 14 against the New York Jets.

Sun, 29 Nov 2015 17:20:49 -0800

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker had six catches for 91 yards in a 24-21 loss to the Oakland Raiders in Week 12.

Fantasy Tip: Walker has topped 50 yards in seven straight games and has topped 90 yards four times during the stretch. He doesn't have the highest ceiling, but Walker is one of the more dependable tight ends at FantasyScore.

Wed, 25 Nov 2015 21:57:14 -0800

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker will meet the Oakland Raiders in Week 12. The Raiders have allowed an NFL-high 10 touchdowns to opposing tight ends this season.

Fantasy Tip: Walker ($7,000, 14.0% of cap) is a must-start FantasyScore option this weekend, as a big stat line is sure to follow against the Raiders. For whatever reason they just haven't paid much mind to opposing tight ends.
